These arrived for me yesterday. They’re the s0001xx model from Rockets - WW2 with denim pocket bags. I like the look and feel so far and am hoping to wash and hang dry (need to minimize inseam shrinkage) before my in-laws come for Christmas. Here are the pre-wash measurements, some photos (not my greatest work), and some pre-wash fit pics. The darker blue colors are most accurate it’s really grey and snowy here and I didn’t have time to bring out my real camera setup. I will update fit and measurements once washed waist (laid flat and not aligned): 16.75”/42.5 cm front rise: 12.25”/31 cm thigh (at crotch seam): 13”/33 cm leg opening: 9.2”/23 cm inseam: 35”/89 cm14 points

Somewhat of a long shot, but has anyone here tried Kotoka shoes out of Nara? http://https://www.kotoka-store.jp/ I have my eye on either the Ichimaigawa (KTO-2002 ) or Ashinari (KTO-3001). What I particularly like here - and the reason for interest - is their explanation of their lasts, in particular the oblique last. Info about that here: https://nara-shoes.jp/kotoka-last/ They don't appear to make a boot, but the shoes are right up my street.4 points

New engineer boot and boots/shoes contender, out of Tokyo, just started selling this month called Archive Tokyo. Can’t tell if they’re sold out already, Mr. Olive sells the brand on their site as well. More of the brand: https://www.mr-olive.net/fs/mrolive/c/archivetokyo www.archivetokyo.com Edit:Sold out but watch out for the brand.3 points

Many smaller shops carry a few items but Bears is probably the best option for buying TCB other than the factory store. Bears carries almost everything TCB produces, all standard items and most special releases. It's also cheaper to buy from Bears now that TCB started charging extra + shipping for international orders, you can still get the old factory price from Bears. Unfortunately none of the North American retailers listed here still carry TCB. Not sure about the other regions but this page probably hasn't been updated in a long time.2 points

Cheers Doc... similarly I gave MsMJF9 a Denime sweatshirt which she often wears an inch or two beyond the end of her fist... which used to crack me up... but now I've learnt to just smile and wave2 points

My late/new S40s do have a red tab, yes. There has only been one production run of these jeans and I'm pretty certain it has only gone direct to consumer so far. I watch many of TCB's usual stockists and none have carried it yet. They are also going to keep producing both 40s models. The original S40 is their bestselling model so I doubt they will stop producing it any time soon.2 points

Slightly off topic but in my experience once the original batteries die you better get used to having old macs plugged into power permanently. Replacements from Apple Store or aftermarket batteries deteriorate very quickly.2 points

They look and feel more like chambray. They definitely don’t look like the denim pocket bags that Simone shared for WoM. I’m guessing that the Rockets site just had a mistranslation. The HBT pocket bags were out of stock in my size but I’m not complaining either. The 37 model from Rockets also looks nice and uses the same denim. I think that there is something different about their sewing or construction based on how they’re marketed (part of their higher price) but I couldn’t figure it out so I couldn’t really justify the $80-90 price difference. The rise is noticeably higher on those though (12.8” for 32 waist after washing I think) and the thigh and leg opening are about a half inch wider1 point

She needs to cuff those sleeves but otherwise outstanding @MJF9 and has to be said, outshining the usual Dad-tux- core.1 point

This shop has quite a wide selection of TCB items. They're sold out there now, but might get them again. https://www.qurious-web.com/product/60411 point

Just like the experience with my old Macs, they’re always plugged.1 point

I’d bob for apples in those! Or maybe go on a hay ride; I think apple bobbing might not have survived post - covid …1 point

I'll be honest, the discernible lack of flare makes those just about the best bootcuts I've seen for my tastes - or the closest to anything I'd ever consider personally. I mean, just the term bootcut feels like an allergic trigger for me. But these are Bob's. No one's gonna be Bob.1 point

My Mister Freedoms have respectably deep pockets. Freewheelers not quite as much but as much as I need. The perfect balance. The king of pocket depth and durability is Tender. Ooe’s pockets leave me with no gripes. Warehouse, TCB, Fullcount all leave something to be desired. My one pair of Sugar Canes are a special edition but those are sturdy and deep enough, can’t say I know the standard cuts though.1 point

Turkish-made LVC were various washed versions rather than raw and for some reason, were sized a bit differently as far as I’m aware. I think the sanforized 1967 zip model also may have been manufactured there.1 point

I picked up a pair of used 47s from Ebay. I've never had LVC before. These ones are made in Turkey so sadly not USA or Japan. I'm a bit confused though as I though all LVC were STF but this measures exactly 34 inches inseam. Were these originally maybe a one-wash then or are they oversized and have shrank to their described label? I believe these are from 2013. They are VERY stretchy too that I had to double check they are 100% cotton...nice leg twist too1 point
