I used to be unable to stick to one pair of jeans for any extended period of time. However, I've worn my LB40s 5-6 days per week since I received them in January. The timing is actually pretty nice as I'll be putting them to the side at the one year mark for the contest. I'm feeling confident that I can be just as disciplined for the contest pair which I'm excited about because I've never faded a pair for 18 months straight.5 points

We'll have to roll our sleeves up and do a bit of denim-archaeology.. I've already found 2x non-denim jackets with MJ codes both look quite old but i'm not sure how old Down jacket with this label (MJ-793) 'found in a vintage store' Flight / Bomber jacket with this label (MJ-631) 'NOS' Happy hunting folks.. ..also this Harley Davidson jacket (MJ-873) which just screams 1980s4 points

I speak as someone who owns only one pair of Warehouse jeans and no Denime, with no special liking for or animus against either company but... Does anyone else think Warehouse have basically ruined Denime? I know Denime has been through a series of incarnations already and aficionados might think it long since had its day, but it just seems mad now. Without ever having handled any, I knew basically what the 220xx was. I might have sprung for a pair at some point. Now every time I look on Bears there's another epicycle on an iteration of a version of it. It makes my head spin. Warehouse's numbering and style variations are hard enough to keep track of even if you're a fan. Did they have to do the same thing to Denime?2 points

It sounds logical but it's also new info so let's not nail down any conclusions just yet.. let's find some more MJ denim jackets and see where that takes us Remember when @Graytrain found that "MP era Bluebell shirt" on the previous page.. i've just zoomed the label and it's not MP, it's MS.. therefore, it seems MP = M-Pants MJ = M-Jacket MS = M-Shirt I've just darkened the image so you can see it better2 points

The Tender Co. denim pocket bags are pretty bullet proof2 points

@MJF9 maybe a nod to the Nick Camen levis ad of the 80's?2 points

Came here to say Tender, not even close. My UES pair is linen and only lightly worn, but doesn't feel close to the Tender ones. Out of more standard pairs, I find Freewheelers ones to be a significantly sturdier canvas than say, warehouse, fullcount or TCB.1 point

I think the bigger question is.. why M? Jeez, it’s like an Agatha Christy novel1 point

Great detective work there All things considered, that seems much easier to follow than M1* / SC1* = jackets, M4* / SC4* = pants, etc.…I wonder why they decided to switch it up1 point

Yes, I've seen MJ codes on a few Henry Lear jackets before, but never made much of it. There was a Henry Lear take on the 65/35 Mountain Parka that I was really interested in for a while (I'm forever in love with the original Sierra Designs version), but I never had any luck finding any in my size. Looks like at least a couple are still up on Yahoo + Mercari. This is the first and only time I've seen any MJ-series denim. I wonder whether the takeaway is that all the non-denim jackets we're seeing are from the MP / MJ era, or just that they continued that numbering convention for non-denim items after switching to M-series for denim? The latter would be similar to how Buzz Rickson's stuff still kept M-series tags until (I think) just a few years ago, long after main-line Sugar Cane had switched to SC-series.1 point

Levis might have noticed Beyonce's 315 million followers on IG and disregarded any musical preferences!l I remember Nick (rest his soul) created quite a storm in that iconic ad... and not necessarily for his music!!! 😉1 point

Because @beautiful_FrEaK has decided not to buy any new jeans, I decided to pick up the slack. I got myself some S710XX-BK this weekend...Nice to have some proper black denim in rotation.1 point

When i used to take my kid, and the neighbours kid hiking up Kinder, we would stop at the Cheshire on the way home, i'd get a pint of their own stout and sit in front of the fire and the kids would get a massive slice of chocolate cake from the dessert menu which would come with 1 jug of hot chocolate sause and 1 jug of cream.. awesome!1 point

@Double 0 Soul I was in Hope last November for a weekend hiking with my mates from school. It’s a great spot. We went to the Cheshire Cheese for dinner and Beers. Lovely open fires that time of year. Good ales too. Very nice. Going back this November.1 point

Picked up these 4005C recently for a good price Can’t find much info on them, but I guess they’re a different fabric (LHT with a brown, maybe plant dyed warp and a dark weft) version of the 3005C from around 2004–2006. Classic mid-‘50s detailing with a zipper fly, and of course the old editable arcs These have clearly been worn an okay amount based on the lightening around the seat & thighs, but there’s no noticeable damage of any sort, and if I were just looking at the hems, seams, tags, & patch I’d guess that they’d never (or very seldom) been washed The fit’s good, a little on the slim end but still within the range of what I’ve been enjoying wearing recently. I’ll post some fits at some point. Overall, pretty excited for these1 point
