I've worn a different pair every day this week... and that's the recent pattern... will be seeing if I can focus efforts a bit more!!2 points

I'm at a point where I'd love to break in a new pair (from storage), but I really don't need to. It's a good exercise in staying with everything currently in my closet. My OA's are feeling frustratingly slow right now! It's a little challenge to see just how good they can get in the last 3 months or whatnot.2 points

I got a new pair of size 2 132s a few months back, and after much careful deliberation decided they’re going to be the only pair of jeans im bringing with me to south america. Funnily enough, I brought my first 132s (also size 2) along to Ecuador almost 10 years ago, and though the fabric was great for the work I was doing, I always felt like I was swimming in them. I’m still within 5 pounds of what I weighed then, but somehow this new pair feels much better, almost an ideal cut for the style I like to wear now. But I ended up doing a few modifications for the trip: First, I added suspender buttons.. I made some leather suspenders earlier in the year and wore them exclusively with these pants, mainly cause the waist was still too big. Debating on keeping the buttons on because the waist issue was solved more recently. A couple months back, I darted the waist, about 2cm on each side. Not professional at all, lol, but it did make a huge difference in the fit and allows me to wear them without suspenders or a belt. Then I made some belt loops to replace the ones I removed in order to fit the suspender buttons. Then today, I decided I’d give them a hem, and use the leftover material to add a proper back pocket for my wallet. The drivers’ pockets are great and very comfortable to use, but their size and location further down my thigh, as opposed to against my butt, makes them much looser and less secure, so I’d rather not keep anything valuable in them. This new pocket is just a cut from the hem scrap hand stitched and “riveted” with some Chicago screws (wish I had copper ones to match!). Here’s the final product all together: I’m excited to wear these in on this trip; they’ll be tucked into motorcycle boots a lot so will hopefully get some interesting fades. Thanks for looking!2 points

I'm mostly wearing a pair of 01's (4-5 days a week, while other days are in a random assortment of more worn things). They're fading a little bit, but honestly probably don't have more than 4-5 months total wear yet. But I hope they're in a good place by the time we get going. My WW2 pair, and my Holk (02 cut) are still in the plastic bags!1 point

@AlientoyWorkmachine totally agree as I'm in the same spot, which OAs are you wearing again? I've been focusing on my WWII pair and they're finally starting to fade a bit, should look good by the time this contest starts.1 point

My 0105s in 32 have arrived from Japan just now. 5 days to the UK. Pretty damn fast and great customer service from FC who were able to pick a pair out for me and let me know the waist measurement before shipping. These fit ALOT more comfortably in the waist than the 31s (which I seemed to be unlucky with and they were undersized) Will be giving them a good 40 wash first to get rid of most of the shrinkage. Looking forward to wearing these a lot. Their standard 13.7oz is so comfortable from the start. Not sure what other brand can really compare in that department.1 point

Cushman has put its 2024 FW catalogue online. There are some nice pieces in there. Type 1 jacket and 1937 jeans. https://drive.google.com/file/d/1kcfV2Uq_ZWjzvxrWv9E9dEe2EmCgjwke/view They are both made with vintage sewing machines. 41 Weapon Cloth pants Duck jackets in light brown and black The tshirts from the summer catalogue are also sewn with vintage machines. The made in Taiwan sneakers are also nice. All have relatively fair prices, I find.1 point

Final check on two of the best Freewheelers pieces: Woollen Sweater - SOLD The turndown collar sweater coat - 2kg of the best soft cosy wool, knitted by the only guy in Japan that can. This was one of the original batch of 50 that was made. Pretty much mint condition, p2p is 20” but the knit is stretchy. Less than half price at £350 (shipping will be depending on where and what method) More baseball influence - Barnstormers Rigging Co. Baseball Style Warm-up Sweater in a deep rust orange beach cloth - really unusual to see beach cloth in this tone but it’s NOT a difficult colour to wear (anyone starts with ‘earth tones’ or somesuch can f-ck right off 😂). Barnstormers were/are Freewheelers high end experimental lab - a lot of hand made, exotic material, extremely limited edition stuff. Anyways, again, a bit under half price at £300. Mint condition and about 20.5” p2p These will be available only until Tuesday, so if you’re interested DM me1 point

I got a ‘job’ in a school band because I figured out how to use a Korg MS-10 the group had bought … well it was the drummer bought it because his dad was loaded; we used to practice in the loft of his dad’s garage. My family didn’t have a car, never mind a garage, so it was quite something to see a garage that had a loft big enough for the band gear and still have plenty room to play table tennis. Anyway the Roland TB-303 came along a few years later and we convinced him to buy that too - loved it. Eventually I got to try out quite a few synths and drum machines. I just noodle on my iPad with those sounds now.1 point

@Broark I’ve got (2!) type 900 jackets in Indian black. One is the 19oz cross weave the other standard denim. It’s not the same dye, probably a little less intense/colorfast (though I could be wrong), but anyways, I’m a fan.1 point

I had been wanting to get a randall for some time. Waited to the last couple weeks of summer to pressure me into it. Just enough sun to get it to a nice warm color. One hell of a jacket. Day 1: The branding scar: You can see there was a bit of a drizzle so I gave it a water treatment to prevent spots after about 1 week Then we had one scorcher of a day which made a noticeable change: Then another hot day: by this point it got to be a mindless daily meditation of putting it outside and turning it every couple hours. After another week or so I oiled it with Pecards antique: Drying in the sun: at this point I had maybe 12 days of sun on it and had about 1-2 days of questionable weather before it looked like fall was switching on. So this is just about where we are for this year. Gonna wear the shit out of it and see what we can do next summer.1 point

I just finished rebuilding & modifying my 2000 Kawasaki W650 that I’ve had for a few years… it was a lot of work and money put into it, and I’m really proud of the result. I rebuilt and upgraded the front and rear suspension, adding 1” of length to the rear shocks and balancing it out with a 1” raised custom triple clamp. Rewired the whole bike with a Motogadget solid state control unit and an Ignitech ignition, and mounted a motogadget gauge into the original headlight housing. Cut and rebuilt the fenders, built a custom battery box, replaced the stock CV carbs with Keihin CR Special flat-slides, wired new controls for the handlebars, and replaced pretty much all the other consumable parts on the bike. I was planning on riding this bike to South America but haven’t really gotten to test it enough to really know how it will do on long off-road trails, at altitude, etc., so am taking my old dr650 instead. But I can’t wait to take this out riding again whenever im back in the states!1 point

What was missing from this forum were debates about sound quality, comparisons of different types of audio equipment, and discussions on whether different cables sound different, or they all transmit the signal the same way.1 point

Need some new songs @Double 0 Soul! This one is a doozy. Dual boot, so Apple iPod OS or RockBox where you can fully customize practically every setting and run themes. I'm currently designing and coding a theme but using one of the best ones I could find. 5.5 Gen iPod with 64MB onboard, 512GB Samsung flash on a iFlash board, 3300mAh phone battery, taptic engine (so it vibrates as well as clicks) with a transparent front, OEM black clickwheel and an older 80GB backplate (scratched up). Gets about 80 hours or so at least.1 point
