Looked through this thread but couldn't find them, l had a whole set of pics of this pair so l must've posted them on denimbro back in the day. Sadly now l've only this pic stolen from lg to show you. Deadstock 1942 501XX sz 36x36 (click the image twice for more clarity) sold by Foremost some years back. Lovely two tone stitching. Hard to believe this pair and the WW2 pair l posted earlier could be produced just a few months apart, yet in some ways they are both world's apart in detail and design.7 points

the whole first year we spent thinking "there's no way we are doing this shit again. we've aged a million years and our body and spirit are beaten" and then somehow we forgot about all of that, had a second kid and during her first year where she had terrible sleep we kept going "was it this hard the first time around??". luckily my wife had taken good notes with figuring out schedules and we realized that our brains had buried that trauma deep down and tricked us into only remembering the cute moments.5 points

^ that’s true enough, but the cool thing is that sleep deprivation just obliterates your short term memory, so you’ll probably forget that (and lots of other stuff) before you know you forgot it.5 points

I've had this Old Navy shirt for like 9 years now, longer than I've been interested in raw denim. It was just a cool shirt that fit me well, and has treated me well this whole time. The second to last picture shows what the fabric started out like where the placket has frayed and opened up. I've had to repair both elbows which I did with a fun floral fabric I had on hand.4 points

Our youngest is 14 now and she’s doing her first babysitting job for a neighbour’s kids this evening! EDIT: and for the denim enthusiasts, she’s wearing a pair of faded wash, high-waisted ‘mom’ style jeans from H&M! 😂3 points

Don't need any more denim @Broark but will browse your wares if posted here. My son was only a year old when l joined Sufu in 2009 now he's 17 and as tall as me, wears my old FW47'S and is taking driving lessons ! Enjoy every moment mate, it's a journey you'll never forget.3 points

@Broark Congratulations! As a new first time dad, the first night at home alone with the baby is truly terrifying for the unknown. The rest afterwards though is great2 points

Thanks for the well wishes everyone, we're excited and nervous. Going to be a huge life change. Unfortunately with my new job I won't qualify for 6 weeks of paid paternal leave until I've been there for a full year. But I can use that leave at any time within the a year of the birth which is nice. Started the job in May and the baby is due to arrive in January, but I think my org is pretty flexible and should let me work from home initially so I can make sure everyone is settling in as well as they possibly can. My wife should hopefully have about 12 weeks of unpaid () leave, but I think we'll manage. Needless to say I'll probably be selling some more stuff here soon.1 point

Our situation was admittedly not the ideal, though I’ve learned it was not so atypical either. It was covid lockdown and we couldn’t get outside help. We lived in loft studio apartment with no separate rooms. Our kid had some reflux issues that prevented him from sleeping well until about 4 months old. I had to teach online in that same apartment and my partner got a whopping 6 weeks of leave after an emergency C section, having to go back to work in person every day. Everything was super chill. It didn’t give me any grey hairs.1 point

Which ones are the 1930s ones? The original spec? Or is there another type besides the 42 and 45? And which colour?1 point

Received my Alden loafers today, for factory seconds they seem to be pretty solid! There's some small cosmetic flaws but nothing that I'd think too much about for the price. It's surprising how comfortable they are right off the bat, no break in period needed. The moc stitching is a little disappointing since I've seen photos of the LHS versions, but given the price I paid I'm happy with these. Feel like I've officially reached peak menswear.1 point

Here are a few pics of the 1943 jeans (size 34), received yesterday. As I mentioned to b_F, I feel pretty young and trim for an old dude, but look old and fat -- and, of course, the camera doesn't lie. I also have the jeans hiked up a bit, as I just put them on for the photo. I suspect they'll come in a little with a wash and I hope to come in a little too (i.e., lose a few pounds).1 point

Far from the standard fare, here, but I can never resist a direct old vs. new comparison La Sporta Mythos Eco, old ones have seen around 3 years as training shoes, 2 front resoles (fourth photo), and enough hand stitching on the uppers (second photo) to call it a day1 point

The racism makes that party fit only for the bin and never office imo...1 point

I have to wonder where in the process this was seen as a good move. Especially since the brand already carries -ws products in stock on ms at the moment, there are many available substitutions at a lower price point. I get that ACR isnt supposed to care blah blah, but it feels like a poorly thought out release and like a project that will never break even. I dont see these selling. I agree with the gripes about the J100 title too, wasted opportunity.1 point

Went into Self Edge today looking for a Hawaiian shirt fully expecting to buy something from Sun Surf and walked out with this instead. Love the print and the fit is really nice, will be bringing it on vacation next week. Plus it was my wife's favorite, so had to get it.1 point
