One of many photos done by Charles Belden portraying cowboys, ranchers, workers. Unfortunately, not dated. This guy has all things cool going on. Scorpion (or scarab?) bandanna slide, sleeve garters, those sleeve stacks and what appears to be two pairs of jeans.

Another Charles Belden photograph. No specific date. Found the side buttons interesting on these jeans. I have zero knowledge of womens jean history, but haven't seen this before.

I see Leigh Bowery’s name on the cover of the NME. Many years ago, I worked as a Housing Officer for a local authority and Leigh Bowery was one of my tenants. He had a very unusual and interesting flat!

That’s the same photo, the Milan one has a different background photoshopped in. The 1961 dated one looks more authentic but idk.

Some amazing photos from the Agricultural History Project museum in Watsonville, CA. Mostly dated from 1900s-1930s. I would imagine there might be higher-resolution versions of some of these out there, but this will do for now. In addition to these, there are hundreds of hand-painted vegetable box labels, ingenious homemade farm machinery from the 19th century, and at least a hundred tractors from the early 20th century, which are being painstakingly restored one by one into running condition. A truly amazing place that I highly recommend visiting.

That's really interesting! Are images of jeans frequent in contemporary art? I don't think so, but I could be wrong.
