@ rob j cole: Also perfect fading on those pants. And I can see the huge fading potential left in them!!

BTW: What's the brand name of your denim jacket?

Here's the late 4 month update pictures. They're technically 4.5 month pics though.

The color is pretty much true in all the pics, it's a little lighter in real life as I had to take these in a somewhat dark room.

This backpocket needs some help!

The yellow stitching is coming off, I can poke my finger through the denim!

This one is need of dire help!

I'm still looking for some denim scraps to patch up the hole, and the yellow stitching is also coming off!

Care to share a quick fit pic of these? Interested in getting some 21oz 510s. Thanks.

I've soaked my 710s twice in hot water for 1.5-2 hours each and each time they could stand up by themselves.

Most people soak to shrink their jeans, not to soften them up. I'd probably do another soak just to make sure most of the shrinkage is done...then I'd just deal with it and wear them stiff as they are.

^I am reluctant to get anything lighter than 19oz too after the 710. How is the rigidness on the 21oz and 24oz denim from Samurai?

The S710XX will only soften after some serious wear @ Joe

Hoho. I would love to know the rigidness on the 24 once my 24oz arrives! :D

bummer. my top button hole is about to give after close to 2.5 years. i wear a belt 100% of the time though, so I guess it's a non-issue.

i just bought a new pair of jeans to start on after my 710s, which in comparison, are super soft now. once you wear them out and wash them a handful of times, they get pretty soft, but still thick and heavy.

I think I may stop after the first soak. Do you guys recommend a second soak or no?

I see you cut the clinch back off ;)

Go for another hot soak if you want more shrinkage, seems a little baggy in upper thigh, but besides that the fit looks good IMO

0500's 18 months old, less than a year of wear, 3 washes, a few soaks, and one awesome crotch repair by the guys at Self Edge NY. My apologies for the iPhone pics, I'm without a camera right now...I'll take some proper pics after the next wash coming very soon.

I'm not sure about once it gets to that point, but if they're ABOUT to give out a tailor can reinforce button holes really quickly
