Samurai Jeans

After a thunderstorm last night I went up to the roof to take some photos:

And figured I might as well bring up some jeans to show progress. These are the "wind" model, with about 3ish months of wear. they're on hold with the NYC heat, but they are fading quickly and will continue to do so I'm sure once I start wearing them again in the fall. :)

The spots on the back of the jeans are just some water from the roof

maybe a further pic to convince you? ;)

picture taken today. silhouette would surely look cleaner with cuffs (or a hem)

there are a lot of WWII repros out there. Some more authentic, some less. SDA brings out a new one every now and then and also FC does. The 3003 from Flathead is also nice but I agree with you on the old style arcs.

LVCs would be the most authentic ones of course.

The S3000VX is typical Samurai. You will find all the correct details on this pair but with a little added "Samurai-spice". Red herringbone poket material, bright and big painted arcs.

Just take a look.

Details on the S3000VX

Samurai-style donut button

Missing coin pocket rivets

Unfinished seams

Red herringbone pocket fabric (pocket bags are also smaller than normal)

Offset belt loop (not sure if that's a WWII detail)

A very peacefull leather patch

Gotta say, you do pull those off quite well imo.. It would look cleaner with a cuff, but still you are tall enough to pull it off without a cuff as well.

thx cole! :)

well I sized down one from my true waist and with the stretchy nature of the VX denim it's easy to make them fit nicely in th waist. they never felt uncomfortable. I soaked and then machine washed mine for max shrinkage. that worked but I wouldn't do it again (at least with my machine) because of unwanted fades after the wash...

looking forward to the inside info you'll be getting!
