Hi guys,

For those of you that come in under 6 foot and sometimes have no option but to alter the length of your jeans but don't wish to sacrifice either the chain stitching, natural selvedge finish or original colored hem stitching.

How do you go about this?

Are there specialist tailors out there with special machines that can accomodate this much needed requirment?

Anyone here from London that knows a tailor that can alter jeans but still keep the original finishes?

30 or 29 if you're feeling adventurous.

Were those 31s hard to button while they were new or are they "comfortable in the waist" the first time you tried them on?

Hi,

I would like to buy a pair of APC New Standards. I wear a size 31x34 in Slim Jims, they are snug through the leg, and comfortable in the waist. If I want a fit slightly looser than this in the leg, what size should I get in NS?

Thanks.

There's some info in this thread, and some users in London that could ask:

Goggle searched and browsed the encylopaedia, a few pages of the forum and all tags but didn't see anything about this. My apologies if it is a repost, though.

I picked up some raw 514s way cheap last week. They fit perfectly with a small cuff and I love the feel, but they have some pre-creasing in the lap area which annoys me.

I tried turning them inside out and ironing them with and without a towel over the area, ironing them rightside out with and without a towel, and they've only slightly softened. Is there any way I can fully lose the wrinkles? I'm not bothered by it to the point that I wouldn't wear them, but I would prefer to get rid of the creasing if it won't be too much work.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

No mate; these jeans came pre-creased. I'm all about creases; my 501 STFs are two years without a wash and there isn't an inch of them that isn't creased to shit. I just don't like pre-creasing because it doesn't look natural at all.

I would like to get a pair of greencast denim after wearing true-blue Samurais for the last year or so. I know the Eternal 811 is slightly greencast after they fade, but are there any other Japanese jeans with a greencast? I can't afford natural indigo, so the Jomon, SC 40400, etc are out.

What's your budget? Low - puma/evisu....higher, SC Edo-ai.
