Next morning we got up early...

...as we were about to go down to Gothenburg to pay Volvo a visit!

Here is our baby in front of the Volvo Museum.

Finally coming home after 45 years on the road.

Inside the museum we saw a lot of nice cars:

Foxy you just surpassed this wee guy here

Tex_Willer_by_Aurelio_Galleppini_zps56bc

and you've become my favourite super hero!

I wouldn't mind a nice amazon combi in navy blue, it would match nicely my TCB tuxedo!

ahah what a woman that you have!

I my wife was half "volvo indulgent" as it's yours at this stage I would own a hangar with 13/14 volvos, plus a couple of saabs!

kidding apart, you started with one of the top of the range volvo vintage models. While the P1800 is an absolute masterpiece of design it's also considered to be one of the less swedish designs that Volvo ever made. In fact it ws designed by an Italian guy, Pietro Frua.

I'd go with one of the 100% swedish models, the Amazon, the 140 series or the 240 series.

all of these cars have wonderful motors which are very dependable and also very easy to work. I'd personally shy away from mechanic injection and look for a carburator model on either of these models. less of a headache, and more enjoyment.

Actually, Volvo folklore has it that a Swedish design consultant for Volvo (Helmer Petterson) did make the design while working at Frua - Frua then build the 3 prototypes.

But, I agree with the fact that the P1800 is not a "typical" Volvo.

My wife loves them - she has rebuild the engine herself (amongst other things) and she can fix almost anything that might happen while on the road. Her previous Volvo was a 144 (I believe) that she totaled in her youth...(Dad was not amused.)

Jaysus Mary and Joseph!

I do love Amazons 140 and 240's indeed. 240 are my favourite, they have a hippy chic vibe that I like, and also are one of the best youngtimer cars that still can be driven as a trusty dailydriver. I have both a 1980 244 sedan and a 1993 240 wagon (some people says the perfected version, last year ever made). If I could I would buy more 240's definitely, maybe a early series 242 like this

or a big bumper wagon, like this wonderful 1980 model year

and then an Amazon combi like the blue one from the museum for the weekend!

I just gave it another wash too. I've lost count at this stage.

I went out for dinner at an Indian restaurant with the wife and daughter, I had my 9 months daughter to try some Indian daal and she spitted it over both my TCB jacket and jeans!

so I've washed both the jacket and pants (same fabric as you know). the jacket has now three washes and one solid year of wear, and it ended up with definitely more contrast than the pics I've post two weeks ago. the jeans are definitely starting to get the infamous daddystyle fades ahahah!

I settled for zombie boardgames and too many beers this weekend. Damn good fun actually, usually not that into boardgames but Zombiecide was a lot of fun. We ended up playing until 8 in the morning.

Definitely a game I recommend if you like boardgames, zombies or both.

you should go out in the snow and do some drifting on a pimped volvo 240 with a V8 engine, while drinking beers, come on Swede!

today my father in law brought me a set of old macro filters from the 70's.

I just tried them on my camera for a few TCB close up shots. Photos were taken with a mirrorless sony alpha 6000 on which I mounted a vintage sovietic Jupiter 9 85mm lens + the macro filter. not the most efficient set seen the current standards, but very funny to use though!

here we go

We got hit by a shit ton of snow the other day. It really came from out of nowhere. The day prior they were worried wether they could go through with the Swedish Championships in cross country skiing next week or not because of the lack of snow in big parts of the tracks. Prayers sure were heard!

This first shot was taken when I was on my way to work in the morning and thought "nice with a little bit of snow":

The rest of the shots is taken the next day when I went out for a walk:
