TCB: happy jeans contest

A little teaser from Manchester this past weekend. Do mind the tired facial expression - we were hanging out way too many hours at the Brew Dog bar the night before. Felt pretty crazy paying less for nice beers from Brew Dog and Stone than what a crappy beer costs at an average bar in Sweden. More pics to come from the trip when I have a little more time at hand.

nice fit!

brew dog is my favourite pub, amazing beer

Their burgers are also to die for (at least at the camden location), and the fries are one of the best I've had (globally)

TCB Happy Contest

While on the subject of Dog Brew here is one I enjoyed earlier this week at home in Moscow...

Here are the first fit shots - overal,l I was not to pleased with my sizing decision. I went with a W33, but as it turned out I would have been better served with a W32...

In an attempt to make this work I decided to go for more drastic measures:

- a really hot wash + aggressive dry tumbling

- thanksgiving dinner with friends & family...

One thing that got lost was the leather patch - it did not survive the aggressive tumbling...

Maybe the good guys @TCB have a spare patch or an alternative one?

I never got around to try the burgers. Guess I have something to look forward to next time I visit one of their pubs. Have you tried Paradox? Damn good beer.

How was Black Jacques Foxy? Havn't seen that one before.

On the denim side of things I did my first wash the other day. Lost some more length and will probably go with a somewhat big single cuff. No pronounced fades as of yet.

Today myself and my happy jeans went to beautiful Bruges in Belgium to pay a visit to my friend Geert, a master craftsman, one of the best living makers of hystorical wood flutes. He's saving my work life by lending me for free all the gear I need and making me all the new equipment at a bargain sustainable price and with the shorter waiting time possible. God bless the Belgians!

Here's the man himself reaming away a prototype flute for me

Tools of the trade, a vintage reamer worth some serious €€€!

Happy Belated Thanksgiving to all! volvo, glad you're getting new gear and in good time and price. Really enjoying the updates by everyone! I had a crazy busy past vacation week and another wash for the jeans which are really shrinking up (5th wash now?). Re: the patch, did you wash the jeans inside out? I think we're really going to take off in the next month or two re: fades though...I think it takes a few washes to bring it out! Or at least all of the eve pics I've seen on TCB's blog suggest these fade fast enough!

Will try to shoot Inoue San an email later this week...

I did wash the jeans inside out, but I guess at 90C and 2hrs tumble dry it did not make a difference!

BrewDog's Black Jacques was actually OK for being aged in a wine cask - good wine flavor and fruit (grapes), but not too sour!

Tonight's poison:

It will take at least one more full month of dedicated wear to see some significant crocking and fading I believe. These are a bit slow at first but once they take off they're mighty! It took me six months of daily wear of the 50's jacket to start to see some relevant combing. Jeans are easier to fade than jackets though. I'll keep washing the jeans once a month or so, hope to get a nice balance between contrast and vintage fades.

Great updates Foxy! Welcome aboard! Shoot Inoue San an email or a Facebook message, I think he could sort you out with a patch of some sort (maybe not the contest patch).

I did shoot him a FB message and he had me sorted instantly!

Ive been super busy with this baby.  TCB jeans are coming along nicely, the ultimate in relaxed leisure wear.  I will have a better update in a bit, just need to get the images hosted, and all my free time is pretty much spent on my daughter.  Any down time and Im just chillin.

We copped a new car as our Civic wasnt cutting it.  So we got a Subaru Forester.  Great car, enough room for us all, but the footprint isnt too big like some SUV's.
