TCB: happy jeans contest

Nice one Volvo. You do a good job at keeping this thread rolling along.

It's been Chinese New Year this long weekend in Hong Kong, so "Kung Hei Fat Choi" and "San Nin Fai Lok" to my Canto-speaking bros! For the most part, there's not much going on other than seeing family and eating and I didn't want to be snapping away at the table with my in-laws. For the remainder of the weekend though we had some time to just relax and do our own thing.

Here's what I wore: TCBs, Strike Gold sweater and Lofgren sneakers...

Here's what I ate on Saturday night at a restaurant serving Okinawa cuisine in Causeway Bay...

An appetiser plate including snail. First time for me and was pretty tasty.

The sashimi platter with oysters. Quality was excellent and the texture of the fish was really impressive.

Suntory highball. Kampai!

Have a great week everyone.

I love those Lofgren pumps too, seriously tempted by the camo ones.

must do my part in the future of this thread re food porn. I always feel weird at taking pics at food...

Thanks guys.

Volvo - I hate taking photos of food most of the time but in HK people are always doing it and it's very normal. Recently I heard the phrase ''the camera eats first''! That said, I'd love to know what you cook up in your beautiful looking kitchen!

Goodrain - I take a medium in my SG sweat. It's a couple of years old though and I'm not sure if sizing has been consistent over the different production runs. The cut and the fabric are both spot-on in my opinion.

It's nice to see Inoue-san getting more publicity, even more so since we're all playing a part of the PR, haha.

On another note I had planned to share pictures from a First Aid Kit gig and all the great beers I had this past weekend. However, the beer got the better of me and no photos were taken.

Gig was great though, especially when they surprisingly did a cover on Seven Nation Army. Way off from their own stuff.

Not much denim-related to showcase, but I figured a couple of pictures can't hurt eh?

Have anyone else picked up a copy of Viktors book? I noticed they went over to Inspiration and brought along a big chunk of his vintage collection. Would be great to see it in person sometime.

Here's a shot on Zombiecide that I mentioned a few pages back. Literally everyone got hooked the first time we played it and bought it themselves. So me and my flatmate kills zombies on a weekly basis nowadays.

And lastly the obligatory beer shot. Since the sales of alcohol in Sweden is only done by a governmentally owned company there only pops up a few new interesting beers once a month. A few days ago I got this IIPA from Culebra. Not too impressed. Backwoods Bastard, a butterscotch ale was much more pleasing.

speaking of the happyjeans blog, I have to say that I sorely miss this guy, the former TCB model, aka the dude with the grimace!

I treated mine once with some Obenauf's after the initial hot wash, which, in past experiences, has really helped maintain a patch's integrity. This time around I had a completely different result. I realize different leathers and embossing procedures come into play here, but I was shocked at how illegible every became after that initial treatment.

I've slacked on posting my pair's progress, so here are some shots taken over the weekend. The lighting wasn't the best because of the snow storm we got, but the color isn't too far off....maybe a bit washed out in that last one.
