I got my jeans! These are 712s, which is the paper-patch zip fly low waist/slim model, in a size 36. 36 is the largest 712s come in, and when they came out of the bag they were scary tight on me, but they've stretched out to be a comfy slim fit. I reckon I'd have gone for a 38 if I'd tried them on in a shop, so for a skinny fit I suggest sizing down. That said I've not washed them yet- they're sanforized though, so presumably any shrinkage will stretch out again.

They're far slimmer than anything I'm used to, but I'm really enjoying them. I initially had a lot of trouble getting them over my calves, but that's easier already.

 

They're sort of what I expected/hoped for in that in a way they're initially disappointing. They just don't feel that special in the way that repros of earlier jeans do. The denim's quite shiny, not a particularly deep colour, and has quite a high relief in the ridges of the twill. From what I've handled I'd say it's not dissimilar from APC denim. The hardware all feels very 'stock', and a bit tinny. But they're really growing on me- I think the concept of a repro mall jean is so interesting, and there's definitely an undefinable Japanese love in there, which makes all the difference. I'm excited to see how they wear in.

Picked up a pair of 710's for a great price from a seller on Rakuten, unfortunately they put the wrong zip code on my package and it was returned to them as undeliverable.

I'm now in limbo, the folks who run the shop are super helpful but it's a matter of how long the returned package will take to get to them.

They fit perfect in the leg but a bit tight in the waist...I'm a strange case due to my beer belly I guess but also I have way too many pairs to get through that I know I'll never get to them! Shame to see them sit around in a closet as they're great jeans!

Just got the 710's a month after the mislabelled package debacle. They're tagged 31 and pretty tight in the thigh and waist, I'm hoping they'll stretch with some wear. Otherwise if anyone's interested in a trade for a size 32 i'm game.

Here's a terrible fit pic of the 710's. They're sized 31x30 and while initially tight, they're now very comfortable. Unfortunately the fly button popped off, I used a cheap snap on to replace it but emailed Resolute to see if it's possible for me to get a replacement.

It's definitely pretty significant. I am tempted to get these hemmed a bit shorter, but I'm going to wait until after I've given them their first wash. Probably getting the tab attached as well sometime down the road.

Fwiw I like it the way it is, just a slighty more westerner and less fashion oriented twist from the usual highwater look associated with that model and with Hayashi san's style

My 712's are coming along nicely, but the stretch is crazy- from barely being able to do them up new I now have to wear a belt with them and have been washing them to keep them shrunk. My actual waist measurement at the height these fit is 39", and I'm wearing a 36. Getting some very nice leg twist here, too, which I don't really understand, as this denim's sanforized. Certainly not complaining. Not much change showing yet, but it's only been 3 weeks:

Coming up to 6 months on mine now and I'm loving them. They don't seem to photograph as well as they look, but mind you I've only got my iPhone to take pictures with.

So, my pair, started wearing them exactly one year ago today. Just over 6 months wear. I can't describe why I feel so attached to this pair over all my others.

Just got a raw pair of 710's from Pants Avenue. Super quick service. Went for w36 l36 and have just given them a wash to shrink them. Drying now going to try them later but they look pretty perfect measurement wise..

It's a pretty amateur job. The mother in law did it nice enough at first then I, for no good reason, got carried away and ghettoised it. Will do better on my other pair.
