  2. My jeans all have this hidden fade. My nerdy hobby is magic. I mostly do sleight of hand with cards, but I have found an interest in learning coin magic, so I always have a silver dollar on me to practice and keep my hands busy.

  3. Not today but quite recently... A Cape Town post deserves the mesmerising, omnipresent Table Mountain Street art in the Woodstock district... Hendrik Verwoerd, ex-South Africa Prime Minister, the architect of apartheid. Stabbed to death in parliament in 1966. One piece of art showing two faces depending where you view it from. Disgraceful that apartheid is still thriving elsewhere. And some denim… Modern day Cape Town on a Saturday afternoon at the Old Biscuit Mill

  5. Just based on my observation rather than any explicit explanation from Warehouse so feel free to correct me: It depends on which 1001xx you're thinking of, but DD is generally reserved for reproduction of very specific historic models. DD is always washed and comes with a distressed patch. DDs are more likely to incorporate period specific imperfections like makeshift pocket bag fabrics. DD gives more the impression of discovering a vintage model stashed in your grandfather's trunk, whereas DSB jeans are meant to feel as if you bought the jeans new when they were produced. There are many variations in 1001xx that are not tied to DD vs DSB though, and they don't often release a DD and DSB of the exact same model.

  7. Another reason to get pics of actual jacket being measured if possible. That being said, pattern matters too - measurements won't reveal absolutely everything and there's always a little risk involved. With FW I've personally found that once you find your size - that's gonna be it no matter the item.

  8. It’s only strange because the Japanese shops are very inconsistent with how they measure (if you look at Speedway’s size for the lined jacket it’s actually smaller than the unlined jacket) - and that’s a one wash isn’t it? It won’t shrink.

  9. On another note, I just got the 506xx 1946 jacket. My first FW garment. Pretty impressed by the details. Very nice jacket and this is the first repro I’ve handled that actually feels ‘vintage’ with all the details. I do have a question though, above shrinkage is discussed. This is a size 48 which come in at around 61 cm across the chest. Strange thing is when I look at the measurements from Speedway Sendai they say the size 46 is 63 cm across the chest. Ideally I need a little more than 61 cm, but if this jacket doesn’t shrink anymore it’s ok I guess. I got this one from Mirrorball and they specify 61 cm in the chest so that equals what I measure. But it is strange the measurements are so different. [/img] [/img]

  10. My WHs 1001 and FW 45 and 51 in size 36 are about the same. The WHs tends to shrink a bit with every repeat wash, while the FW once it's sat down after couple washes doesn't shrink anymore. I think that if the WH in size 38 fit you after a few washes, the FW 38 non wash will shrink down to about the same size. FW may be a little bigger, but not smaller than WH in the same size for sure. Did you contact hoosier?

  11. I’ve found that FW non-wash 601xx will always shrink to the wash size I’ve also found the waist measurement to be as tagged I’m not a 38 but I see no reason to think they would be any different

  12. I can't speak specifically to the 1947 but in my experience warehouse's 29 is about freewheeler's 30. I have jeans with similar rises from these brands. It's enough that I'd be a little suspect about getting the same size in freewheelers that I have in warehouse, let alone down one. That said, yes FW raw denim shrinks a good bit.

  13. Take a look through Standard and Strange's inventory today. They have a few models from previous years and they're on sale for 30% off. It seems like if Warehouse jeans make it to the US, they will sit in inventory for a long time. If they're in Japan, they will sell out almost immediately.

  16. Reminder if you are looking to purchase the sacai bomber, highly suggest you to thorough check the authenticity of the jacket. There is an abundance of fake ones with tempting prices out there. A good starting point would be to check out the grid pattern on the size label gt backer (even though its not a gt jacket). Fakes one are very visibly grid-like and fonts are printed very clear and stiff on the label. Fake: Real:

  17. It's actually a very conveniant and fast way to close your collar with one hand with a button. (2 in case of the 120) It closes pretty well because the top of the front part covers the other one from above. I can understand if you find it visually not appealing since a flap is kind of sticking out and it doesn't look very clean, but it is very functional, and I use it all the time on the 28. It's not just a "lazy way to cover the zipper". I don't even think that is what it is meant to do at al, especially considering the 120 doesn't have the top zip anymore. Which is a good call I think, I never use it on te 28, it's kind of useless and in the way. It also leaves a small hole in the throat area which I thought would be an issue, but it hasn't been. Still removing the top zip and second might have fixt that all together, so looks like that collar is an improvement. The part I don't really like visually is that the main zipper with pull doesn't really fit under the small flap its under, so it will always stick out. I gues that makes it more accessible, but it's not very good looking imo. Still really love the 28 1.4 tho, think people really sleeping on it.

  21. Some film photos from our motorcycle trip to california last month. These are mostly near waldport on the northern coast - unfortunately we shot a whole roll in big sur that didn’t come out at all, our fault using unknown & expired film lol. I wore canes, Duke belt, and flat head engineers the whole time - not much space for anything else!

  22. Just purchased a few of the Samurai ‘Solid Plain’ tees in a really nice off-white. Around 7oz, loopwheeled. Claims the top spot of tees for me. Similar fit in the body to a 4601 but slightly longer and more fitted arms. Much much softer. Little to no shrinkage on first washing. I don’t usually cuff my sleeves but seemed to work here so ran with it.

  24. Spent the last few days in Strasbourg as I had a concert booking there on Friday night. A friend works at the modern art museum. I'm a fan of this particular kind of stuff. All by Victor Brauner. They also have this - Rodin's The Thinker Pertaining to the music event. I made the magazine article. Some of the musicians, mostly piano players.
