Weather was just too nice to pass up.. Traveling light so strapped a rollmat to my bike.. using one SimWorks strap and one vintage 70s Snakebelt because someone (who will remain nameless) only bought one strap Not great for the knees but i was only going a couple of miles up the road.. Sun setting over the Burbage valley Looks like a nice spot.. last time i camped here, it was during the beast from the east.. Only had space for a couple of beers but i had a few mushrooms i picked in the autumn S&M Bikes, Chucks, Vintage Champion, Supreme Work Shorts and PHD down vest which doubled as my pillow Goodnight bike.. goodnight denim people..18 points

I’m not ‘bike packing’ as such so I have no bike luggage, just this small 13l hike/bike daypack.. https://www.sim.works/products/chips-bag-13l?srsltid=AfmBOopyy3VLlLzF2XprK4U4iw-ztV_B6TUMqUlMNYm3FXSO_gfst_wH It’s only just big enough to hold a single season down bag, tarp and the pole ..which is all I need for a single nights camp without food.. my rides are usually 60% road, 30% trail and 10% climbing up rocks with the bike on my shoulder, thankfully the bike is light af.. but it would be impossible to shoulder the bike laden down with luggage. If I sized up to something large enough to carry the mat, it would be a 40- 50l alpine pack.. way too big for a single nights camp but I might try using the bungees on the Chips Bag to hold the mat if I go further afield.6 points

That's more of a philosophical question, right? Anyway, I still own my very first pair from 2008. So why sell them before 2028 and lose against @Double 0 Soul?!2 points

More of an interest check as I'm a bit too tired to do a full sales post, I need to move some pairs and these are the ones on the initial chopping block. Top row, left to right: Boncoura XX size 36, Warehouse lot 1202 USN trousers size 36. Bottom row, left to right: Warehouse Lot 1001xx size 36 (old stock before they added the tab back), Warehouse x Hinoya Lot 1001xx size 36, WH Lot 1001xx 25th anniversary size 36. The Lot 1202 and 25th anniversary jeans are essentially brand new, the other three will be available for a lower price since they've been worn a bit. I can provide measurements, additional photos and pricing if interested, just reach out to me via DM.2 points

I "get" the difference between old and new Denime (I have a couple of Orizzonti-era pairs and then Warehouse-era 220A, 221, 224, and 233 jacket), and I do very much see them as different companies, sort of in line with b_F. I love them both—New Denime under Warehouse, particularly the first run of the 14.5oz denim seen in the 220a, 221, and 233, since the denim has a buttery but substantial handfeel and fades beautifully. The Orizzonti pairs I have, the Kyoto and black 66s, are way more packed with character in the way of flawed stitching and more textured/irregular denim. Neither is better. You could easily argue that the Orizzonti, and therefore the Shins and Wego era, are of a lower manufacturing quality than the current run under Warehouse, since consistency is variable. Still, those details we appreciate, at least on this forum. That goes to say that Denime has changed hands and evolved through different eras of ownership and manufacturing, but has never fallen out of place as an influential and essential brand in the reproduction-focused denim world. I love all Denime. From Hayashi-san owned and operated, all the way up to the Shiotani brothers taking the reins and giving us their interpretation of the classics. If the newer Denime doesn't appeal to you, that's fine, and I get it. There's deadstock from all eras if you know where to look, and that's the beauty of this hobby. Thanks for listening to my TED Talk.1 point

Looks great. What does your whole baggage look like? The roll mat on the bike and a backpack?1 point

I've sometimes wished that the spotlight that shines on the niche range of 501XX available during the early 1940s would shine on the niche range of 501XX available during the early 1920s (1915-1921 model, 1922-1925 model, 1926, 1927, 1928-1934 model - l'm guessing here) but at the same time, l'm glad they haven't, at least for my wallet's sake. Probably not as marketable as the WW2 stuff though.1 point

I like your deep pursuit of one brand for the most part, there’s an appeal there for me (I am just genuinely torn between my 3 loves of Tender, Freewheelers and Ooe and can’t commit..yet). I’ve got one pair of WH and while I like most everything about them and they’re at a great faded stage, more than any other pair they feel like they were made to show their age quickly, at the real expense of quality. It could just be my pair, but I can’t get past it. The other thing is for whatever reason they strike me as the most dead ringer Levi’s you can find out of all the options - and I actually like the little flairs of differentiation in other makers. Modern Denime sort of struck me in the same way, though I’ve never handled a pair.1 point

I feel the same about them. Doing 1:1 repros is nothing new and TCB for example made their WW2 models apparently very close to the originals they had their hands on. Still I vastly prefer these SCSC models. Something just feels more right.1 point

Finally took my one of a kind hand made embroidered denim vest to the tailor to be altered. Short people problems. Perfect length now. This old Coke jacket will be next. Temporarily pinned and cropped by about 3 inches. Looks great now. Fortunately the zipper was about 4 inches shorter than jacket itself. Here are some progress images of my ‘super denim collectibles’ 1946. I’ve never had 2 of the same pair to really to a side by side like this before, and kind of cool to see (IMO, of course). The worn pair is a sz 33” (up one from my usual size) and unworn 32”. I’ve been wearing since roughly the beginning of 2024 pretty much everyday for the first 8 months and after that wearing M-F and rotating different pairs on the weekend. I think I’ve washed 5 or 6 times - when I’ve felt like it. This is typically the kind of fade I like, and the stage when I would stop wearing and start to break in a new pair, but I plan on keeping these going. I really like them.1 point

We're getting some mild Spring-like weather which can be a rarity around here, so I'm taking the opportunity to do a few chores around our patch. Trees were long overdue for a trim so I've had to be ruthless. That's hard for me as I'm one of those hippies that feels the trimming causes pain to the tree. I've used the tractor to push away the trimmings, and do a bit of mowing too as the foxtails are starting to sprout. Met a gopher snake soaking up the heat from the pebbles.1 point

The gusset has been done.. albeit not an exact repro of the above.. bob dale thrifted a pair of single pocket LVC samples with the crotch gusset.. also, remember those SE x SC with the bright yellow pocket bags from 2009 (ish) era?.. i seem to remember, they had a small crotch gusset but i can't seem to remember the SC number? .. someone will chime in edit- or was it a crotch reinforcement?.. i can't remember1 point
