  3. Still ice on Little Traverse Bay if you come up north! Though it's getting dirty. Excuse the photo, taken while running last Saturday. Ice is still there, however, with a fresh blanket of snow.

  4. This is a fluffy piece of documentary but I enjoyed it nonetheless. Some of the designs he’s come up with over the years really are just so good.

  7. Another arced version of the M41001 (cloth patch version) in a good size for a decent price - tagged 33/36. They look to be unwashed, unsoaked, and unworn too based off the measurements. 11. Good stuff... as the Sufu man-on-the-ground, it'd be appreciated if you could find out when the one-pocket late 1800s pair is coming and what the measurements are? Understand a measurements chart may be extremely hard to come by, but if you get one you'll win the internet that day ... cheers!!

  12. Not as interested in the S&S pair personally, I already have the war jeans from last year. They’ve been hinting about what look like some late 1890s type trousers made from duck canvas for Inspiration. Would get out there if it was closer!

  13. Fast faders, but also keep in mind fit; These are my dedicated pair, but since I upsized them I'm not getting as much wear and sharp creasing, but at the same time I know the crotch won't blow out. Anyways, we're all in it for the long haul, you still have time!

  14. banana prices are the new eggs here in the US.

  15. Yup seeing the same thing in the US, priced at $299 but then add an additional $103 for shipping?! Seems way too rich imo, I had thought about a pair of the S824XX wartime model jeans at some point but the extra cost and extended wait just isn't worth it.

  19. ^ Their bananas must be great if you’re willing to pay the shipping from Japan! 🤣
    1 point
  20. @MJF9 That’s great to know; their USD prices area generally way higher than domestic. All I’ve bought direct from them is a couple bananas, so no huge hit, but being able to pay their listed JPY price would make me way more likely to order more in the future

  22. Similar situation... I asked Buaisou if I could pay in Yen and they said yes. Worth the question. A deliberate mark up exclusively for internationals is off the mark... unless there is a justication I can't think of?

  24. Excellent find! Def unwashed / unworn, they still have the back pocket sticker. Based on your current posting pattern, i don't think that day will be too far off

  25. Just checked the website again and noticed he charges different prices for Japanese vs international customers. And this is before shipping. Tax free Japanese price is 33k ¥ which is around 200€. With tax it's 220€. Yet the price quoted for my country is around 270€. Plus shipping and import taxes. Another turn off besides the lead time.

  26. Looks like the new pair will be made of the XX4 denim (and standard pocket fabric) based on the latest Standard and Strange newsletter...Looking forward to getting my pair since I missed out on the XX4 "Dull" fabric last year, and it'll be nice sizing up to a roomy 40.

  27. I have a pair of SD-100, and I love them. Part of my rotation, probably get a couple days of wear a week. I'd say they are tapered in the way a 60s cut is tapered, not like a "relaxed-taper" type cut i.e. SD-108.

  28. @Well27 Not going to lie...I had to send them to add a little taper to the leg. The LO was just a little to wide for me. Got them back today and plan to start putting some wear into them

  29. @Talan Lifestyle is a big factor yeah; if you don’t walk much your jeans won’t fade much…that said, yeah, these are crazy fast fading, right up there with some of the newer Warehouse denims

  30. One of the things that I miss about living in Evanston was being able to run next to the frozen Lake Michigan in winter with a view of the Chicago skyline In theory, we’re only 30 minutes from Lake Huron now but far from actual open water. Thankfully, the trade-off is that there are lots more forested areas here which are also beautiful in late winter

  31. Managed to find another grey loopwheel sweater from the Shins-era. Size L. The Orizzonti era runs smaller. At this point I might have to count how many grey sweaters I own...

  35. 2 months in the 611. These are a little contrasty due to the direct sun, but I wanted to see where the fading was coming in. Also, after a Michigan winter you stand directly in the sun when you can. Coin pocket fade is my favorite so far.

  36. My gyro fell apart yesterday and got on my pants, so it was time to give my 50s their second wash. Probably been about 3-4 months since the last one. Lap and thigh fades are really starting to pop.

  37. I wanted to make myself a new bag, inspired by super fancy Ortus models. I've been using a self made ripoff of the Mimosa model, but figured I could made something less completely stolen. So I set to work. Lots of making of pictures here.

  41. Bump indeed... posted this before... MF RBs plus SC Okinawa denim have been in my mind lately... Bought Nov 2017... wore it a lot for a few years... snugger than I wear most jackets these days (or have I grown?!)... lots of life left though

  42. My girlfriend surprised me for Valentines Day with this SDA 4482 "Kasezome" sashiko jacket that I've been looking for since 2020. This jacket was one of my first exposures to the Japanese workwear/clothing sphere in 2020. I came across this jacket on reddit while researching a pair of APCs I found at a thrift store and fell in love. I missed the chance to buy it and have spent the last ~5 years trying to track one down. Finally, not one but two popped up on eBay this winter. Unfortunately, I had just returned from Japan so my clothing budget was low. I was pretty bummed, but luckily my girlfriend ordered it for me as a surprise! Absolutely stoked on how it fits, its exactly what I imagined. SDA 4482 Kasezome sashiko jacket SDA Holy-Dartisan long sleeve shirt SDA Maido Ookini Osaka exclusive jeans

  43. Very nice! I love the B-6 he made for me. The collar on yours is a nice flourish, but the zipped pockets would bug me. On the subject of JC and GW, I visited him today. He's a very congenial guy and of course absolutely passionate about his craft. My slot is coming up and I placed an order for one of his civilian jackets. I did try the cross zip Mojave I had tried on in 2021. It still fits. Too bad it has an owner...

  45. I've never been able to buy any clothing from MF because it is all too slim fitting for my build, but I did buy this tote in - I think - 2015 - during a trip to Los Angeles, before I moved here from the UK in 2020. Just dug it out and washed it. Here are some photos. Straight outta the wash and some post-dry details. Slightly obvious as to which side rubbed against my torso during daily use for a few years.
