A friend of mine had pulled up a whole lot of irises, so I got my hands on some and spent this afternoon weeding / turning / planting / mulching The bulbs were in big root clumps of 10–20 per, so the first step was shaking them all apart Turned the old soil—really nice and easy after a week of heavy rain—then fortified with some new topsoil. Probably pulled 100+ linear feet of old bamboo roots in the process Then in with the bulbs, plus some forget-me-not seeds, and a layer of mulch for safe keeping. The awful saturated false red is all my neighborhood shop has, and I can never be bothered to go farther afield for something better. After a few weeks in the sun, it does end up bleaching to a nice facsimile of honest redwood feat. Union Special, Two Ears Brand, Great Lakes, Hollows, Russell20 points

Happy birthday doc! I got a card and a bottle of lychee Mogu Mogu wrapped up like a christmas cracker The card had a very small sketch in one corner of me holding a massive carp.. It was an excerpt from a video Sarah filmed of him catching his first double figures carp age 6 I didn't even take a landing net so i had to wade out and scoop it up in my arms This was what he'd sketched He's not managed to capture the fit of the CSF very well, but he hasn't done bad with the Musto cap.10 points

Not that it’s a competition but my one wash DD-2001 just came in and it’s yet further proof as to why I love Banner so much. Type 1s suits my build far better than Type 2s - particularly my paper tag 2002 and Banner is also way comfier right off the bat. I can also actually button this up fully, comfortably. It’s a 44, 2002 is a 42, the largest size that was available. DD-2001 pocket on the left. 2002 pocket on the right. Very stoked.10 points

For many years I have been eyeing the ”new” version of the TCB Type 2 jacket. I got the old version in a smaller size but found it too slim for my liking. This time I sized up to a 46 so I can layer it with a thicker shirt or a sweater. I’m really happy with the fit. Much better proportions from the old one. sorry for the bad picture 😕8 points

I think I'm going to try them out too, the singular back pocket on the right hand side is really going to mess with me. I'm left handed and keep my wallet in the back left pocket.3 points

Very cool details and denim on the 1800s pair. But so not practical for me. I will enjoy watching you guys wear them though.2 points

Wearing my just arrived SD100 today. A little wider below the knee than I expected/am used to but my love of the SDA denim will convince me to give them a go!2 points

Hi all I’ve always been interested in clothes, doing the vintage 70’ies hippie style in my teens, then more streetwear and skateboard style the first part of my 20’s. When I finally had some money finishing uni, I was in a rut. Now I had money but felt too old for streetwear and did not really like the prep or business style. Luckily I had a great colleague who one day brought my 4 of his old selvage jeans for me to have, and then I was hooked! This is now 6 years ago and I’m been reading here the last 4 years, due to the purchase of the FC 1110XX which has the red tab and arcs, but when I found photos of the model elsewhere there were no arc or tabs – then superfuture taught me why. Currently, these are the jeans I use year around: Full Count - 1110XX Oni Denim - 622ZR Japan Blue - Jeans J366 3Sixteen - NT-100xk Freenote Cloth - Avila Levi's -501 - Brown Naked and Famous -Milk denim - Wierd Guy Edwin - Regular tapered - Ecru Sugar Cane - 66 Warehouse - 1001xx2 points

Thanks Paul. Bought myself a series one landrover. Pics tomorrow hopefully. My son bought me a new sealskinz hat and left me a roughly scribbled note on a bit of ripped up paper saying "happy birthday dad, see you tomorrow". No card this year and didn't see him at all. Life1 point

I also purchased the same one when I was in Japan last month - It's been a long time since I bought a denim jacket last time.1 point

I bought the backpack (2 day assault model) because it meets the brief for the simple urban activity I need it for, rather than where it was made which I paid no attention to. Where something is made is not a 100% guarantee of quality. It's doing the job, is robust and so far so good. @aho I saw afterwards MR was being phased out... that was probably useful as it was discounted - assume they're clearing stock.1 point

Yes! Very pleasant weather in Georgia this week, in the low 70s. A couple weeks ago, we had lows of 15 degrees F. Weather around here this time of year is completely schizo. Thanks! I'd been hankering for an S501xx repro for a bit, and ones by Sugar Cane, Freewheelers, Warehouse tempted me, but lack of availability, price, and doubts about fit had me apprehensive, until this pair came out and ticked off all the boxes for me. I'm glad I was patient. The shirt is super cool, I found it on the rack at a local charity thrift store for a few dollars. I'm not sure exactly how old it is, but it's made in the USA from a selvedge chambray fabric, so it could be from the 60s or earlier. It's a size M but fits somewhat large, which suits my Grandpacore style well enough these days. I feel like I need some sort of old timey headgear to go with this sort of outfit, but I'm not real sure where to look.1 point

@cultpop 0217 Had to do a doubletake. Wasn't expecting to see a brewery I've visited before! Excellent fit too 🤘1 point

I also picked up the Sunny Garden chore coat, the denim is very nice! I think they're going to make some late 1800's inspired pairs out of it this year.1 point
