Hi all I’ve always been interested in clothes, doing the vintage 70’ies hippie style in my teens, then more streetwear and skateboard style the first part of my 20’s. When I finally had some money finishing uni, I was in a rut. Now I had money but felt too old for streetwear and did not really like the prep or business style. Luckily I had a great colleague who one day brought my 4 of his old selvage jeans for me to have, and then I was hooked! This is now 6 years ago and I’m been reading here the last 4 years, due to the purchase of the FC 1110XX which has the red tab and arcs, but when I found photos of the model elsewhere there were no arc or tabs – then superfuture taught me why. Currently, these are the jeans I use year around: Full Count - 1110XX Oni Denim - 622ZR Japan Blue - Jeans J366 3Sixteen - NT-100xk Freenote Cloth - Avila Levi's -501 - Brown Naked and Famous -Milk denim - Wierd Guy Edwin - Regular tapered - Ecru Sugar Cane - 66 Warehouse - 1001xx8 points

Thanks Paul. Bought myself a series one landrover. Pics tomorrow hopefully. My son bought me a new sealskinz hat and left me a roughly scribbled note on a bit of ripped up paper saying "happy birthday dad, see you tomorrow". No card this year and didn't see him at all. Life6 points

Ciao... a few pics from the week... been doing a bit of walking in them... settling down very nicely... I can feel the Italian influence in the jeans, as you'll detect from my greeting Got this Mystery Ranch backpack recently which I really like - I'm no expert but it's comfy with loads of little handy pockets for stuff and seems pretty robust Went into the city with my lad, picked up a Panasonic TZ99 which I had on order... into House of Fu for a nice California bowl of Japanese inspired goodness... ... then went to see my mate Mavis who didn't have a scoobies about the Sufu #WoMCon... wtf... it'll go viral at some point folks... it's just a matter of time4 points

Country of origin matters in the case of Mystery Ranch because of the legacy of the brand dating back to Dana Design in the 1980s. If Freewheelers started mass manufacturing in Vietnam, it might technically still be a good pair of jeans, but it wouldn't mean the same thing to consumers in the know. Not a critique of consumers who just want to buy a backpack, I don't judge anyone who buys their jeans at Kohls either. But it's a loss for people who care about this stuff.3 points

Wearing my just arrived SD100 today. A little wider below the knee than I expected/am used to but my love of the SDA denim will convince me to give them a go!1 point

Miss Paul T here sometimes. Always good lvc info's and great stories. Lovely bloke in person. Back in 2009 he gave me a signed copy of (one of) his books after my ex-wife left after only (luckily) being a member here on sufu for just a few weeks. Denim destroys lives people.1 point

I bought the backpack (2 day assault model) because it meets the brief for the simple urban activity I need it for, rather than where it was made which I paid no attention to. Where something is made is not a 100% guarantee of quality. It's doing the job, is robust and so far so good. @aho I saw afterwards MR was being phased out... that was probably useful as it was discounted - assume they're clearing stock.1 point

Happy birthday @Maynard Friedman, now let's see a birthday fit pic!1 point

Happy Birthday Martin! .. this'll make you laugh! I was just watching Stranger Things with Sarah and the boy came home from school with a parcel, saying excitedly ‘I’ve just found this on the doorstep and it’s addressed to me” he doesn't ordinarily get post. I had a look, it was delivered by RM but the house number was one digit out, the postcode was one letter out and the street name had a spelling mistake.. luckily it got to the right address because when he opened it.. it was a 3D printed butt plug If it would have gone to the wrong address, we'd have to move house! Three of his mates had the idea.. one of them made the packaging in iMedia at school.. i say packaging, it was printed paper wrapped around a box.. one of them 3D printed the plug and one of them posted it. ..the branding is brilliant! certainly on par with any other self respecting purveyors of butt products. Hat's off to them!. it's a genius 21st century schoolboy prank . They all pm'd him out of the group chat to say 'please don't be offended, it was just a joke' which was quite sweet.. we all thought it was hillarious, it's not everyday you see your son opening a box with a butt plug in it. They'd even enclosed a phony receipt, the company address was '1 Oxford Street London' which i immediately googled with zero results before the kid said "it's the lads.. i'm going to fkin kill them! My days.. i love teenagers, they're flipping hilarious!1 point

I ordered this Phlegm book last week in a frenzied.. fastest finger first purchase It was on the doorstep when i got home Signed copy It's a book his etchings over the last few years Sorry about the low light grainy quality.. i can afford frivolous art books, yet i can't afford a decent phone or even light bulbs ..a fold out print too which is a nice touch.. really good value for £20 from his BigCartel No so much for £200+ from scuzbag bot resellers...1 point

April 25, 1888. I have great pleasure in stating my experience of your Trousers Stretcher. It is un-doubtedly the best in the mar-ket, and my experience extends over five years. ARTHUR B. DUNNE. They do seem to like it. Maybe we would too?1 point

Initial impressions are good. They’re perhaps a bit agricultural - QC wise - compared to other $200+ pairs of shoes I own but I guess that’s part of the handmade vibe. They’re already softening up nicely after a couple of hours of wear. I took true to my bannock size (10.5E) and it feels just right. They’re a 10.5D but in reality as they have a natural foot shape, the D is plenty wide. They have zero arch support. Insole is totally flat as a pancake. They smell wonderful. I expect them to last for a very long time and for them to be exceedingly comfy after they’ve molded to my feet. Some photos below. If you had genuinely narrow feet, the C width would probably work better.1 point

Off to a real fast start, already seeing electric blues at some high-friction points around the lap / whiskers, and even some white on the hems—starting to worry that by 18 months they’ll be all the way washed out! Plus: day 16 outfit, feat. Great Lakes, Warehouse x RMF, Union Special, Hollows, Russell1 point
