I know Kapital is not for everyone... but I do like their funkiness I remember seeing @redragon wearing the Ringoman years ago and thought it looked cool. I've looked at it on and off over the years and eventually pulled the trigger. It's a cut-and-shut of 2 denims... 12oz body and 8oz sleeves... Mavis on the supermarket checkout didn't say anything so they must be hard to discern with the naked eye It has exaggerated multi-pockets to the front and back and is pretty spacious (this is a size 5) - more spacious than the photos suggest The big cargo pocket on the back might come in handy for carrying maps which I'll never use as I'll have my phone in one of the many front pockets. I'll also resist acquiring one of those lickle pooches just to maximise use of the back cargo pocket - it's a step too far 😉 Anyway... verdict... I really like it as a change from my usual jackets16 points

Got up this morning and made the sleepy teenagers some breakfast.. a recipe of my own creation.. greek yogurt, toasted waffles and blossom honey.. they didn't get back from their hike till 12.30am ..went to Fox House ..picked a few boletes ..headed out to Mam Tor, ..blurry ..i'd seen some folks picking mushrooms here last week while on my bike ride.. they looked more like gentle hippies than Guardian reading micro-dosers.. which was a good sign ..yellow club fungus ..scarlet waxcap ..but these^ were not what i'd come for today ..bit of prep ..and some fan assisted air drying8 points

I’ve forgotten how my tees I’ve had over about 15 years or so - I only had that happen once, and the t-shirt was really well worn so I wasn’t much bothered by it … I expect holes to appear or buttons fall off every now and then, that’s what happens to well used clothing, regardless of how well made you think it is. However, @vlad_III you seem to be cursed with sizing issues and construction failures - you’re a jinx2 points

Funnily enough.. I've just sent an old pair of O/W SC47s to soas for a hem..2 points

I don't want to buy them at all Tilmann.. for the sake of clarity, MJ asked a few months ago if i wanted to take part in the pizza jeans contest.. i said, 'no i've never even heard of them, if i was in the market for jeans i'd grab a pair of SC-43s' to which he said, yup they're more your thing.. roomier cut.. ok said he, will you be a judge? i said cool but i'll probably never look at the thread because i have zero interest in the jeans.. fast fwd a few months, i was perusing Yahoo, spotted the jeans i posted above while checking to see if the price of 43s had dropped and here we are2 points

SC does also theirs jeans in RAW version. But in low percentage of production. One wash dominates. If you search for raw SCs, Pants Shop Avenue is just right store....2 points

FW jeans are really nice and the sewing holds up better than other brands but the same can’t be said for their T-shirts. not the first FW tee I have this problem with. This one has been washed twice only. their overlock seam is just too narrow to grab a meaningful amount of fabric safely. Works nicely on the inseam of their jeans but Tees are knit fabric unlike woven denim.2 points

Nice pickups @Broark Cool to see the uplander shirt. Was tempted by that, but picked up the diamond cracker instead.2 points

One update deserves another. These are the 01’s in the XX4 denim I think. I find this denim quite comfortable - rivaling fullcount - and also quite stubborn! Probably 5-6 months real time wear, the last month has me cycle commuting 5-10 miles a day in them 3-5 days a week. Washed 5-6 times, washing weekly now.2 points

Freshly cleaned, conditioned, and lightly polished. Left the soles alone. A member of another group confirmed he received this exact make up for Christmas 1962 and they were in fact ACME. Cowboy boots with Phoenix overlay and inlays, double soles, and weird heels. Sorry for the photo dump. New camera phone is spectacular.1 point

The 220A fades crazy fast. My experience with the new xx banner denim is limited, but it doesn't seem to fade as fast as the 220A.1 point

This was the same tee I posted about two years back. In XXL it looked like it would only fit spongee bob. it’s funny that you still think it’s boxy. I took out about 2inches of width. (Those seams didn’t fail) POCKET T-SHIRT (#2325001,DRY RED)1 point

Here ‘ya go.. raw 47s H should mean ‘hard wash’ edit- some have no suffix at all, just SC419** The label is sewn into the jeans at manufacture, maybe with the intention of hardwash, onewash or raw but this doesn't transpire to the washing / finishing process.. so don't assume any SC suffix as gospel.1 point

The A or N suffix will be on an internal tag (in the pocket I think) rather than the patch.1 point

Hmm. Maybe I just got unlucky then. Their heavy pocket Tees seem better. Had this issue with all the light weight ones.1 point

I actually don’t own any Skid Row shirts so I can’t comment directly, but the XL I got feels a bit bigger than other FW shirts. More of an over shirt. And size 18 has been offered in the past (just the Neal chambrays I believe).1 point

You might check here. I'm sure I've heard Terry Mitchell talk about this label, you might message him on youtube.1 point

The 232XX-54 jacket still looks interesting, might pick it up depending on the measurements when it drops. But browner weft banner denim seems right up my alley since who knows when Warehouse is gonna restock their 2002XX in banner.1 point

Very interesting. Good point with the models in different sizes. So in a way it makes sense, since Hayashi then started out to make a pair of jeans with vintage like denim. And Kurabo apparently was the first to do so for him. So with the banner denim being vintage denim fabric (but of the some specific period, 20/30?) one could argue, that it's the same objective. But I had also read, that Hayashi had not wanted to create a full replica but rather vintage like denim with a modern twist (though for Denime then probably not as much as with Resolute now). So since WH is mostly focussing on repros one might have expected them to basically copy the original Denime jeans models of the first generation. With Kurabo as the then denim producer still active, it should have been easy to reproduce the specific Denime denim of that time. Perhaps WH's idea here was to offer Denime jeans with a WH twist. For their WH fans. It would be cool, if WH could answer some questions like that. Do they have a kind of spokes person? Perhaps the Japanalogue guy can set up an interview. Not sure, if there has been one with WH.1 point

That's how I understood it. They gave the same banner to Kurabo and they examined it based on this added 10% brown(ish) cotton to the yarns. On Instagram they have some posts talkoing about it. Basically that the cotton was less clean back in the days. You are right, there are more brands featuring a brownish weft. Or rather natural/unbleached weft. UES is one of them. I think what play a bigger role is on which actual model they base their whole procution line on? How many example pairs did they study? In which condition was the sample pair. A good (or rather bad) example is the TCB 40s. The sample pair was one worn down pair in size 28 (or smaller?!) and they based the whole pattern of the run on this sample. The counter example would be FW which uses several pairs of different sizes to create a pattern. Something I heard from @Duke Mantee and Seiichiro. And it is very likely that fits are still tweaked so they will fit the targeted customer base better.1 point

A number of years ago MASH CO reproduced the 1930's - 40's US Army denim dungarees that were also used by the CCC Civilian Conservation Corp. The raw denim was originally a beautiful dark indigo that's worn well over the years and fading nicely. The zinc US Army metal buttons are also beautifully reproduced.1 point
