11 month old DD-1004XX (1922) fresh out of a wash and dry. These were a bit hard to get into, but after their 5th wash and dry, they finally fit perfectly. Gotta love the “dad knee” where my left knee is more faded, and if you look closely, my right thigh is a bit more faded above the knee from kneeling to talk with my son.21 points

Some before and after shots of some more bag repairs for my girlfriend. She's in a wheelchair so she hangs them off the back and they get caught on things regularly. Since it's a power chair she sometimes doesn't realize a bag is caught till it's torn. The leather bag was super quick, just popped a couple rivets. Had to add a third to reposition an interior pocket since it was too many layers for the rivets I had on hand. The green canvas one has leather straps which had torn at three places. I had to be careful while sewing the straps back in place to make sure the needle went into the pre-poked holes. Added a box stitch too for added security, and popped in some more rivets to complete the look. Hopefully if I have to stitch this one back up again it's the fourth strap end that wasn't already torn that fails. The black canvas one had a huge tear which I darned. Had to unpick the stitches holding the strap down to be able to darn underneath, then sewed the strap back.12 points

Still need to find my PayPal password but I’m in it to win it, likely w/ the ‘42 model3 points

Deposit has been sent! Think I'll be going with the cinchless '42s.2 points

Exposed! Edit: but the WoM are shorter than I wanted them to be. I will order a longer inseam for the contest so I will end with a 80 cm Inseam. Give or take 1 cm.2 points

@tooth Thanks. It looks like I last photod them in December, so look for a post from around then. They honestly haven’t seen a ton of wear in the past year, but next time I wash them I’ll def. take some updated shots1 point

@Broark Happy to help! Had been squinting at that table myself. @Dr_Heech I'm planning on going with the late 30s cut.1 point

I think this will work perfectly. They will definitely stretch a few cm in the waist if needed, but overall its a very forgiving fabric/cut. Let us know how it works out!1 point

Sent the money over to Simone, pretty excited for a 411 pair. I ended up sending the money through Goods and Services with a bit more to cover the free since it was cheaper to do that and use my bank's conversion rate than pay the extra $5-10 in fees from paypal.1 point

You'll be able to provide Simone your inseam from the get-go. I'm going 34" inseam as it seems this denim shrinks a fair bit (3.5" in length from b_F's posts) so that will put me at a 30.5" and give me either a clean leg, or, I will cuff it to show just the hem, so 0.25" give or take.1 point

I want a shirt that will let me bring out my inner 50's greaser. I'm between Merz B Schwanen and Mister Freedom for the classic undershirt vibe. Thanks for the suggestion, I've worn some decent Gildans in the past but I'm looking to upgrade to something more premium, also I appreciate smaller companies that don't use sweat shops and tend to have better labor practices. Not saying I know that Gildan does, but.... I love the Japanese companies for their attention to detail, quality construction, etc. but the Japan sizing typically is very short. I have a few Buzz Rickson shirts that are great for wearing by themselves, or untucked under a Hawaiian shirt or jacket, but are way too short to tuck in. I should also say that I wash all my clothes on cold and throw them in the dryer, which shrinks then. The only downside to the classic 50s style t shirts like Merz and Mister Freedom is that they have fairly flimsy necks that get kind of baggy and stretched out with lots of use (I have a MF shirt, not s Merz so just inferring about the Merz). Ideally, I am looking for a classic styled lighter weight shirt with enough length to tuck that has a nice tight crew neck that won't get stretched out with use. I dig the Tezomeya shirts but the sleeves are super long and it definitely has a more "relaxed" fit. These shirts would have a place in my wardrobe, but they have a much different vibe than the classic Brando/Dean tee style of the 50's. Anyways, forgive my rambling. It's been fun to dive into all the premium t shirts on the market. The tough part is that t shirt measurements often don't convey how they will fit. Arm hole size, fabric stretchiness/rigidity, opening size, and neck hole size all greatly affect the fit but are usually not quantified by retailers.1 point

Same length as the inseam on your WoM’s now though. I’m 6ft tall and they’re still quite long.1 point

Hey @beautiful_FrEaK, thanks again for organizing. I had a question about measurements. I'm noticing your pair of 411s in size 36 has a raw front rise measurement of 12.5" but the listed raw measurement based on the size chart should be around 33.5 cm / 13.19". Any insight as to why there is a noticeable discrepancy here? I like my rises to err on the higher side and I'd be disappointed if the contest jeans had a similar discrepancy. Also how is the waist measured? and finally will hemming be provided with the cost of the contest jeans? Thank you in advance and sorry if I'm missing something here1 point

Ahh fair enough! Mine was also from Clutch. The loafers are direct from Alden in the US, I used a proxy service to get them shipped here (unsure if that’s necessary but it turned out to be a good and easy experience) I do believe Clutch stock the machine sewn version of them and would be handy for trying them on I’m sure!1 point

Me as well...but then I luckily saw the inseam @UkeNothe S411 is as the 611 (they are basically the same only different names) rather a late 30s cut.1 point

!!!UPDATE!!! We (or rather Simone) got an aswer from Collect about denim availability. There are 2 rolls available right now of the RS1950-ROW of which Simone needs at least one for us. The R501-UF is not available and the production schedule has been postponed until March '25. So we are glad the majority of people voted for the RS1950 (and honestly, we are happy that there is still stock...). This brings us to the following situation: We can most likely start this whole thing earlier than "planned" (meaning before Christmas) We would need the deposits earlier as well and I talked with Simone and we agreed on September 13th (the deposit would be 140 € payed either via PayPal [F&F preferred but not mandatory of course] or bank transfer) This is necessary so Simone can order the denim and is not left with fabric that he doesn't need. More info about how to pay will follow. [email protected] for PayPal As for the 25 spots not taken until September 13th, we agreed that the last spots can also be filled later. As for cut and sizing: this is not yet important for the deposit, this decision can made later (I will clarifiy this with Simone again until he needs a final cut and size decision).1 point

So plot twist i pulled the trigger on the 34. I measured my waist again and largest measurement was actually 88 cm. I have a pair of old Levis that measure 43 cm across like the tcb 36s and I was constantly hiking them up today. I think the 34 will allow me to wear them without a belt but still be comfortable. Fingers crossed1 point

Silverstones. These were a wide cut when they were originally jeans but they draped weird without any cuff length so l chopped them. Not sure if the thread is cotton, poly or a mix of(?) but it looks cool faded. My phone won't do the denim any justice but the detail pics show the true colour more. The red tab just has a woven S on it inside a circle in white, reminiscent of the R only tab that was introduced in the mid 50's. Obviously l've customised the original back pocket design to fit in with my more favoured aesthetic 😉1 point

Gave the WWII jeans another wash over the weekend, starting to get some decent contrast. I really like the grey hue that this denim has, and it feels like it's not washing out as quickly as some other OA denims have in the past. This is probably my favorite cut that they've made so far, so if there's ever another run of 03s I'm in.1 point

About 3 months of wear on my pair. Washed and tumble dried them probably 5 or 6 times. I think this fabric really lends itself to the heavily marbled look. The subtle slub is nice too. I really like what's going on with the back left pocket. The fly closeup is the most accurate for the shade of black that they're at.1 point
