somewhat off topic, but warehouse's denim source has always done an uncanny job recreating specific fabrics....these original 1950's sure remind me of the 15th anniversary denim...

speaking of 30's denim, wonder if anyone buying the new 1001 or 1105 can acheive the following?

Marvin's = vintage denim porn.

do the warehouse/doubleworks t-shirts fit true to size? or should i size up

WH/DW Large = US medium. Some of WH Ts run long compare to other Japanese brands.

even though i already spent my newly attained money on tenders, i wish that i could fit body type needed any warehouse cut besides 660. those 700s are beyond amazing. they actually look like vintage jeans. they also give a vibe of the lvc variety that is completely unmatched by all other japanese repro. they make americana better than the americans rather than differently.

New rule for myself.... any future denim purchases are to be done in May, after Warehouse release their new jeans for the summer. I really like the #700 I picked up a couple months ago, but damn, I'd really have liked to have gotten a pair of those 1105s.

wgmds, IMO Warehouse is what LVC should be. I love LVC, but I've resigned myself to the fact that they're never going to be what I'd hope they would be, and my money is better spent with Warehouse when I'm wanting something close to a 30s to 60s pair of Levis. Not sure what size you wear in the 660, but assuming it's the size 30 listed under profile, you should be able to wear a size 28 or 29 #700.

Bringing back the machine wash v. hand wash convo: I think it would be interesting to hold an experiment with two identical pairs of jeans and two wearers. Jeans would be worn and washed at the same damn time, using the different methods.

Now we just need 2 people willing to buy new jeans.

although I agree it would be cool to see the difference I between hand wash and machine wash, the comparison would not be straightforward, even though using the same denim; a lot depends also on the intensity of wear, frequency, what kind of activities performed when wearing them, whether or not he/she downsized or sized up, etc. I suppose the difference of hand wash vs machine wash would be more clear if the same person bought two pairs and wore them every other day, washing at same time, etc

i believe [quite a few] peeps hand wash to have more control of the wash process itself. eg, more thorough on the crotch, back side & below the knee, (etc.) while avoiding [as much as possible] the whiskers & combs__ so as not to disturb the "creasing" progress..

honestly. i've never owned two pairs of jeans at the same time, but this is making me thing about it pretty damn hard. a little over half way there already!

I don't think I've ever seen a Warehouse denim to fade "bad" (what ever that means) so that shouldn't bother you

nope, never said anything about a "bad" fade, i was talking about wanting to see something significantly different than what's out there. When you have a denim addiction like I do, you have to start making some ground rules otherwise you'll just end up buying every new pair that comes out every year and for me it's: no new denim unless it offers something significantly different and/or lacking from what I already have in my collection. I rarely rush out to buy new denim before I've seen pictures of them worn

yeah but if you have such a big collection, do you really think you have the time to bring the beauty out of every pair? I have also a big collection and several pairs of that I don't know how they will turn out. But that's not too important to me. I like the denim at every stage of its age: when it's new, half worn and beaten to death.

And as every pair turns out different, depending on the wearer, I stopped looking how it might turn out but but buy jeans because I already like them how they look new.

collecting denim is such an affliction. so many purchases begin with seeing a photograph of a worn in pair with grail status fades, but obtaining those fades on your personal pair requires quite a time investment.

with any luck, i might get started on my pair of warehouse 700j's in the next year. shame that i have already passed up on the 15th 1001xx, but warehouse has proven that any incarnation of their denim will produce amazing fades.

Makes perfect sense. No point having four or five pairs of jeans that all look the same. Shake it up by having a pair of Warehouse, PBJs, IHs, Samurai, etc...

Personally, the first thing I look at is the cut (will it fit, and is it a reproduction from a time frame I'm interested in), and then the denim.

I'm sure the denim used in the new 1001XX and 1105XX is great stuff, but probably not radically different from what was used in your 660s. Seems Warehouse is about refining the denim rather than pushing boundaries with dye, slub, etc.
