Not today, but a couple of weeks ago I had to move my mechanical tweed loom and my pirn winder from the dock to a shed closer to our house...

moving the crate over by forklift, unpacking, stowing the empty crate into a corner and tidily packing things up again.

if things go according to plan I might have a Shed of my own and can think about reassembling the loom later this year.

@unders I recommend watching “why hero quest is so great” on YouTube. Loved this game and was always swinging my “broadsword”!!!

Just watched the YouTube video - hilarious. Best thing I’ve seen on the internet for a while.

The jeans were in southern Washington State along the Columbia River the other day. The jeans picture (not taken by me) was at a Stonehenge replica monument for the locals who died during WWI. It was very hot but the 32oz NDBNs were still comfortable. For me at least. Stopped by the nearby Maryhill Winery for a tasting and some snacks. Then went up Dog Mountain which was nice but had a 3000' elevation change in like 2.5 miles. I did put on hiking boots for that. Per some recent discussion in the General Nonsense thread, a fire had just broken out across the Columbia in Oregon, but it had just started so I did not see any smoke and had learned about it after getting back from the hike.

Took the old Leroy's for an impromptu solo hike this past weekend to get away from the smoke (a bit of a gamble, since half of the Sierra seem to be on fire too…)

Set off from Clark Fork, a bit North of Sonora Pass, and camped near Boulder Lake

This was the trailhead on Friday afternoon, with the skies still lightly smoky—luckily, that cleared up by Saturday morning:

Didn't take many photos—usually, I rely on my hiking partners for that aspect—but couldn't resist shooting a phone-pano from the top of Disaster Peak

…also as seen from below, from the left-most canyon of the above pano, for reference:

Interestingly, there was a USGS marker at the peak, and the compass arrow was pointed dead West…does anyone know who to contact about this? (I'm not sure whether or not I mean that to be facetious)

I was going to put these in the TCB contest thread, but they are more appropriate here. My first wearing of the contest jeans! The progeny took more pictures of the jeans from various angles but they didn't really come out great.

Downtown Seattle skyline over Lake Washington. The floating bridge to the right is the western terminus of Interstate 90 and leads to Bellevue.
