Made the drive from Santa Fe to Denver yesterday, took a scenic route between Santa Fe and Taos and there were some really beautiful views. Now in Denver where it has decided to start snowing but we're planning on hitting up quite a few breweries so hopefully the beer will keep me warm.

Images uploaded from my phone again, sorry if the quality kind of sucks.

video doesn't seem to work for me, but maybe it's better this way haha!

It's been a memorable weekend, and I'd say denim wise the hero of the day was your dad rocking those warehouse 1004xx like a champ ; )

edit: photos looked terrible. May try again later.

kevypf... haven't been out on a fishing charter in forever but that looks like a blast. My old man worked in the marine industry as I was growing up so I was fortunate to be able to spend some time out on the water. Always fun.

After my last post from our US road trip we only had really crap wifi at the next few motels and also travelling intensified a bit as we had to keep to a rough schedule so I didn't feel like posting much. My Flatheads and Warehouse did a lot of fun stuff though through Arizona, New Mexico and back to Texas again, highlights included:

Grand Canyon

And a good bit of shopping along the way :D Got good deals on three pairs of 70s Chucks, two RL Denim & Supply shirts, and a few bargains on Levi's, Wrangler and J Crew linnen and madras shirts.

Besides the obvious (like Trump, "You need god" billboards, the NRA etc.) I just love the USA. We're already planning our next trip, and since we had In'n'Out in Austin we've already pretty much decided on the west coast, because we need to have those burgers again ASAP :D

Took a tour of the now closed Steelhouse Lane police station in Birmingham. For those not local it's a Victorian police station and jail house. It's seen the likes of Fred West,  the Birmingham pub bombers and the gangs that Peaky Blinders  were based on pass through. If youve watched the BBC series then the scenes inside the cells are filmed here.

Here's me getting my collar felt

not travel based

library time

finding some pix whilst reading some of the works of fashion historian Valerie Steele

sharing two images from c.1900

the bravest among you might consider them for chest tattoos

those who like to size down extremely can be happy in the company of some historical precedents...

Art this time, with some local travel

Part 1

going to catford

alternative art-space ironically self-titled 'le bourgeois'

reflecting on its gentrifying position

showing collage with orgy of faciality meets pudenda

bored of simplisitc juxtaposition we practice our ballet

then drink amongst the astroturf

before given salutation to the local deity

[accompanied by some lvc 44]

Art n local travel again

Part 2

off to bermondsey

from the grunge space of yesterday to the sacred space of white cube

dreamers awake

with some art-tapestry, image-text, and 'that' Buzzcocks cover presented as glowing icon

also some good Claude Cahun and Francesca Woodman

(without permission to rephoto)

we echo the becoming of trees

and then forgetting ourselves become sculptures

Thank you! Yesterday we went for something different, in two parts. First we enjoyed hackney: dark arts coffee and crypt of the wizard were two destinations i wanted to see and they were worth it. Friendliest people and awesome goods. They also sjowed us hackney farm - a very inspiring diy farm. Then we continued to bath for georgian english countrylife. Sorry, i only have smartphone pictures today.

They were reduced to begin with and with an additional store wide 20% on top it was like 30-45 $ per pair :D

Cool!.....By the way, I'm going back to Japland early next year (to see my mum) and I'm planning to buy a pair of exclusive Japanese version of Chucks. I'd like to compare 70s with these Jap version.

@Naoto Ver.2 I have a couple MIJ cons. 70's are still nicer overall but the japanese are closer to the original  chucks shape. Always worth checking the abc marts stores that are all over the place for deals on cons and japanese only models as is White Atelier in Shinjuku and Journal Standard. The Japanese Purcells are very nice though, retaining the shape of the original but more padded. The Purcells are not MIJ but just Japanese models.

I like em so much I doubled up when I bought em!

Sorry for the geeking out, I come from a cons obsessed family!

Thanks for your info - very helpful!

I've never tried MIJ cons on before.....they sound & look nice, and I'm sure it's well crafted, but I wonder if it's really worth it every time I go back to Japland. (Moreover, ABC Mart refused to deduct the VAT)

I, however, purchased J.Purcell and One Star which were exclusively available at ABC. They were made in Indonesia but they're really, really good.
