First of all this is not my "first decent pair" of jeans ever, I own a couple pairs of raleigh's (one being the $500 25th anniversary pair), a pair of ande whall cougars, a 3sixteen x 10 BSP pair, and an iron heart DC 4001 pair so I know my denim, and second of all I was excited about my Roy's and wanted to share that with the superdenim blog so yeah, my picture is not the best but damn, why you have to be such a hyper critical denim snob?

Vandon, not every fit is good. not every pic is good. not every style works.

mr. sometimesnice is just saying, think before you post...you won't really find alot of neg. criticism around here, which is why I believe some more critical comments are necessary to maintain some level of + / - between good fits, great fits, and bad fits. I personally don't mind your post, shirt + jeans looks good, but I would wait till you've got some shoes on, and are ready to head out before you snap your pic. then everybody can see your "style". less is more, so post your good fits when you've got 'em.

haha, yeah i was in a hurry to get something else up. the shirt i had on before was baggy. i understand some of the criticism but i know i need to start finding more optimal angles, settings, and possibly shirts before i upload here... unless i want to be ridiculed for my messy room, etc. i just did a load of laundry and was in the process of putting it away if that helps

i couldnt find better words at 5.30am,i am a morning grouch.

in my opinion waywt pics should reflect not only what somebody is just wearing but the whole look.it doesnt matter how expensive your items are,as long as its worn in some sort of context-hate this word right now,but cant find a better one,i sometimes struggle with your language...

in your last pic,for example, you dont look comfortable at all,but the background is a lot better than your kitchen.

i am not going to tell you how a good pic is done.thats a little homework you have to do yourself, but browsing both waywt threads(and the one in the trash+worst waywt fits)is a good start.

and welcome to the future.this greeting was a lot more common in earlier years, where are your manners, folks?

Here are a few hopefully constructive comments for the benefit of not only ourselves but those to come.

I understand that your pants are new. Have you gotten all the shrinkage out of them? If so, take them to be hemmed. This simple step would save a lot of the fits posted here. The silhouette from your knees down would be greatly improved and would hang more straight with a few inches off and a small cuff.

Regarding your "pose" - you don't look comfortable in your own skin. This could be because you don't have a jacket that would be appreciated around here and so you go outside in the snow without one to take a picture and consequently are freezing. It doesn't look right given the context of your shot.

You also look like you are either sucking your stomach in or puffing your chest out, not to mention taking the shot standing sideways to appear thinner - it isn't working.

Whether people are trying hard or not, good WAYWTs are often those that look effortless. Just relax. Don't get defensive. Learn. Lurk. Hang around. Eventually you will be saying "great fits everyone! will rep when I can" with the best of them.

thanks for the constructive criticism. i definitely got ahead of myself and plan on putting more effort into, and understanding more of what this thread is about. and honestly, i don't know what kind of pose i was trying, but like you can see, i need to work on that (i wasn't trying to appear "thinner" by any means, just not really sure how to properly pose). i'm a built guy but still dont know how to position myself to make the most appealing shot. looks like i got some work to do.
