Vintage clothing and footwear

Recommended Posts

Wasn't sure whether to put these in the Nice things thread, the Sprogs thread or here. They could've even be posted in the Shoes that look better with age thread ;)

Anyway, (approximately) 52 year old, hand made by Harringtons, red leather shoes :D

Pulled this out of the closet to sell or trade and ended up liking the fit better than I remember.

Picked this up yesterday, bought it because I just thought it was a nice thing to own and it was only £10 but does fit the wife.

I think it is 1970s as it mentions dacron and has a care label but if anyone knows anything else I would be interested.

I think that logo wasn’t registered until 1981 and it seems the business was defunct about 10 years later

Vintage US Army M-65 Extreme Cold Weather Parka, label dates this to 1983, manufacturer Carbon Hill Mfg Co Inc, made in the USA

With detachable quilted liner and Snorkel hood - both older, from the 70s

Heavy duty Scovill brass front zipper

In great vintage condition with some nice seam puckering and a worn, washed look

Bartles recent parka pics re-catalysed my interest… thank you Sir!

New big warm coat, very timely for watching my son’s football over winter

And for shell layering for warmer times

Nice score! Always liked the Penny's type one, those pleat stitch boxes remind me of the ones on WW2 Levis jackets.

Vintage US Army field trousers, dated 1956

Picked them up from a shop in Ukraine via Etsy

Only gently worn - well, I know they had been worn from the, ahem, stiff handkerchief in the pocket - t'was amusing chasing the wife with it, at least... all washed and clean now though

The seller marked them as M-51.  The inner label doesn't specifically say this... the other interweb versions I've seen, though with limited searching, do reference M-1951... however the specs look the same. I'd be interested to hear from anyone on Sufu in the know

Irrespective, I love them - quality throughout, massively spacious, lovely sateen fabric, adjustable waist yadda yadda yadda

The first couple of photos are closer to the true colour

Used to own/wear a woolrich identical to that one back in the 90's. It was very warm iirc.
