Thanks! I have been washing them about once a month so 12-13 washes so far, haven't kept exact track.

ha! I liked the guy who asked me if I had soaked them and when I replied said something like "oh....well they look ok anyways". I think I disappointed him that I washed them.

Champs,

Due to a difficult combination of personal circumstance it has been a while since I updated the DWC, I sincerely apologise. Please be assured that I have still been monitoring the contest almost daily via the forums and email and that it is still very much alive and well.

We are now into the second year of the contest and the competition is as fierce as always, with some incredible worn denim being shown by some very strong competitors. In this second year it will all be about endurance and wear, who can stay the course until the end and win it will be decided by who wants it most.

For the continued support that so many have given the contest I can only give my thanks and applause for their continued dedication.

A reminder for all that we can always be contact through all of the following means with any questions or comments.

We’re all looking forward to seeing your jeans, jackets and boots evolve over the final year of the contest, and for those who didn’t enter from the beginning please don’t forget that you set the timeline in the DWC. If you believe that you can do in a year what takes others two years then it’s still not too late to step up.

Thank you,

Gav (Megatron1505)

Visited my home town Helsingborg Sweden today.

I love Pålsjöskog (the name of the forest). Especially when the wood anemones are in bloom. It is like white carpets are filling the forest. It is so beautiful.

I don't remember when the last time I posted an update on my tux was, but it's been many months. According to the rules, I'm disqualified. Oh well. It's been roughly a year since I've been wearing my tapered IH634-XHS and IHSH-33. I've hardly worn any other jeans during this time. Maybe for about 2 months last summer when it was too hot for 25oz denim, and a few days here and there just for a change. The shirt is my most worn shirt ever, but it doesn't get as much wear as the jeans as I take in on and off several times a day, and in the summer last year I didn't wear it at all. I've worn it nearly every day otherwise.

I wear the jeans for everything from just daily wear sitting at my desk to taking the dog for long walks and hikes in dusty brush to yard work and everything in between. The 25oz XHS denim has become very streaking and sharply contrasted in the whiskers. The 'combs are just starting to get some contrast, and even though the stacks are well defined in the fabric at this point, there no much fading there.

Both have been washed every 2-6 weeks, depending on how dirty they get. Cold wash, outside out, gentle cycle, natural liquid detergent, hang dry. Lost count of how many washes. Even after all the washes, the original almost-black indigo color is still evident in many places. The shirt has been washed more often than the jeans. I always wear a tee shirt under it.

The IHSH-33 black denim hasn't faded much at all. After nearly a year of wear, there's only small signs of fading around the cuffs and elbows. Combs are well defined at the elbows, bit no fading. I really love this shirt.

To add even more photos to the page!

Took a trip to Japan last week. Went to Tokyo, Osaka, and Fuji-Kawaguchiko. It was my third time, but my friends first. We also ended up renting a car for our drive to Kawaguchiko. Normally I'd just take the trains everywhere but my friend really wanted a car so I said fine. If we're renting a car, we're choosing what I want. So, we ended up with a S15 Silvia. Here's some pics! If anyone's curious to see more, here's my flickr. Some good, some bad https://www.flickr.com/photos/27452458@N05/albums/72157667348088762

Awesome pics, looks like a fun trip! Out of curiosity what hotel did you stay at in Kawaguchiko? My wife is looking to run the marathon there at the end of the year and we have been researching places to stay. Would love some first hand info!

^Thanks! And we stayed at the Mizuno Hotel (booked through booking.com). We stayed in Tokyo, and Osaka pretty cheaply so we decided to splurge a bit and got a relatively nice place in Kawaguchiko. It was definitely a very nice hotel, and we had an amazing view. It was around $140ish a night, and we stayed just two nights.

The only problem I had with Kawaguchiko is its kind of touristy, and not a lot to do. It's absolutely beautiful but all you really need is one or two nights there. Things open late and close early. Thankfully we had a car so we explored all around but it can get boring if you have too much time there. I'd definitely recommend it if you're interested but wouldn't spend too much time other than a few days there. It also seems pretty easy to get there from Shinjuku by train/bus.

^ Looks like a great trip!

Update for 1 Year into the Contest. Wear time is probably somewhere at around 9 months (other jean rotations and certain contract positions where i couldn't wear jeans every day). Washings are somewhere in the vicinity of 10-12. I've lost track at this point
