You could hand wash in cold water, ring them out, then wear them until they dry. The waist will stretch out.

a buddy just brought me a pair of these from japan, dry. They've got great details, but the indigo is so much lighter than the 1947 501s, and the denim seems a little lighter in weight.

I hot soaked 'em cause they were so big. still waiting to break them in.

still have to get around to posting some pics.

after seeing sympathy for denim's 67 505 having a lower rise than LVC models. i am wanting to find a site that sells the lower rise model. cutism rise apears quite a bit higher.

he mentioned them being on this site but but they are not in my size.

Lighter indigo makes them more authentic, I believe that in addition to painted arctuates, plain rivets and buttons, the indigo dyeing process was also restricted during the war.

The 1933 and the 1944 are quite similar in colour, both a little paler than the 47, say. But they fade really well, look at fre$co's pair here:

http://www.superfuture.com/supertalk/showthread.php?t=34010&highlight=1944+501

One thing I would say, from bitter experience, is that is a pair is way too big, more than one hot wash won't help, all it will do is make the jeans look washed out and pale...

Sorry to hihack the thread with a flog of my wares, but I have a pair of 33's and a pair of 44's for sale in anyone's interested, both 1 wash from raw. labelled as 34x34. Both from the ranges a few years back.

http://www.superfuture.com/supertalk/showthread.php?t=31846

The 44's aren't listed as i've only just decided to sell them, but condition is as the 33's. Let me know if you want measurements/pics

well my pair have the standart rise of a 505, these are authentic without any customization, so buy at cultizm they´ve got the same... I know that LVC Japan

produced some customized 505s with lower rise though

Interesting, I have a pair of 55s that I sized up on thinking they would shrink like crazy, they didn't. The inseam lost like 4" but the waist shrank maybe 1/2", that was after a hot wash and dry. My other LVCs shrank a lot more in the waist.

Does anybody have experience with Levi´s 1944 701 jeans, I´ve got a deadstock valencia street pair in w32 l32 but these fit much bigger, like w34-36, these shouldn´t shrink anymore, should they? and please don´t tell these are ladies jeans, I no that ;) Many thanks mates!

Hm thanks Paul T, but that way I can´t wear em cause I usually wear W29 and these fit like the RED 1st Giant you know. infact the waist is tapered aswell, you don´t see it because of the camera angle. you need a W38-40 bum to fit in :/ but why to hell did lvc produce em that HUGE?

I wanna show my newest jean, its a sample of the 2004 Levi´s S501xx "Rust And Blue", it came orignaly with metal lunchbox, which had been used by navy people during WWII, in my opinion the most beutiful prewashed jeans LVC ever made. I got em for 70 bucks =) unfortunately these don´t feature the flannel pocket lining for this it´s only a sample garment and does not necessarily meet LVC quality standarts.

I know this belongs to the market place but I thought it´s faster to people who are interested in, I´ve just listed my new, unworn 1996 551zxx 30/36 at the bay, unfortunately these fit much bigger than I expected, I should have sized down :/

I think these are sepcial because the arcuates look more crooked(what I really like) than on other 551ZXX which are on the bay in present, so here is the link:

many thanks mates! :)
