Levi's Vintage Clothing

Recommended Posts

I just got the japanese magazine "Lightening"'s latest big denim issue and it has some vintage Levi's that it describes as "501xxs" does anybody know what the "s" stands for?

Chucko,

does it read 501xxs, or are they 501xx s-type, mentioned by Busted seam (i.e. Is the 's' above where the 501 is stamped in black)??

On the 501xx (1964 or earlier), there would sometimes be an 'ES', 'EX' or 'SP', which denoted extra sizes or special sizes (longer in Length). This would be stamped after the 501XX (in black) rather than above.

A pic would be helpfull.

It's more or less retail, they're usually around £130-£140.

Check yoox, they did have some of the raw jeans for around £100, limited sizes though.

Edit: They have the 32 32 up for £98, and a few other raw models. Site seems to be slow for me at the mo, but try:

(I'd suggest you get actual waist size in these)

Also, don't forget the 333, which have had a lot of love in this thread. One wash only, but for £89, a steal. Check out airfrog's to see how they look worn in....

I know they're not LVC but If anyone wants a cheap pair of brand new Gap Selvedge denim, I have a pair up for sale.

I will be posting some items on Supermarket sometime this week. All BNWT. Some Levis lvc and two pairs of Lee.

The Levis models and sizes are:

-1955 501 sz 36/36 from 2003 (554)

-1944 S501 sz 36/36 from 2003 (554)

And -1955 501 sz 38/36 from 2005

All bought from Cinch. All of these are simply surplus to requirements. Hopefully get the pics done on tuesday, and list the same day..

You guys should jump all over those 333s at that price. I think I'm going to score another pair. These are some of my favorite LVCs. The denim is INCREDIBLE...

I think the fact that they're not raw is a big turn off for everyone. I know it is for me.

1937 501 news - Did my first hot hand wash without soap last night. and boy was there a lot of shrinkage left...

the water turned pretty blue, but they dont really look much lighter.

whiskering on lap is more apparent and i love the fit now.

LVC 1937 update

about 3 months of wear and 3 soaks and one handwash

there was a significant change in fit after the wash.

notice the real big leg twist on the right leg...

what i've usually noticed is most of the spin is on the left leg.

and since Miz's new thread I've noticed that they do have the stagger in the back, but the right side of the ass seam is on top of the left; which is opposite from most jeans I've seen. Its also like that on my brother's pair and on the JP version. was this the way it was done in the 30s?

sorry for the crappy pics. I'll post some better ones when my camera is back.

Those commercials are awesome. Much better than the current crop of Levis ads; at least the ones I've seen lately.
