These shrink big time. This size 30 will shrink up to 2.5 inches on the waist. This is proper shrink to fit. My old 36 waist shrunk down to a 32.5.

Someone on sufu might buy them.

.

I've been thinking about this since I first tried them on. I feel like they are going to be put up for sale because I won't get the chance to properly wear them out. If only it was possible to exchange them in this day and time at a store for the correct size.

The LVC1937 201s are much trimmer than LVC 1937 501s.

Thanks for that correction. On the first page of this thread you have a picture of both pairs of jeans in your collection (back in '06'), so you would know the distinctions of the two. The denim is the same though right? They were both from the same factory from the same looms?

It would be hard, at the moment, for an independent to set up to produce fakes, as you'd need a lot of specialised equi[ments (I guess the 1890s one would be easier, as they don't use so much specialised sewing gear if you could source the denim!).

Sorry if this has come up, but this just made me wonder. Does anyone know what Taylor Togs did/will do with all their equipment?

your best bet is to sell them and buy a larger size. these turn up more than any other 555 model. so your chances are good.

the denim is completely different than the 37 501. the two have nothing in common other than the yr model LVC assigned. i really couldn't think of two more different pairs. the 37 201's are great jeans if you can go with the quirks. some can't and i understand. it took me a while to decide to try a pair. i learned to like them a great deal after a little customization. they have quite a cult following these days.

So the denim is different and they have several differences.

What customizations did you do?

Thanks for the help everyone.

nothing major. i bought my usual stf size which yielded a fit similar to the 47's. i never liked the buckle on the 37' 201 anyway and as a result of the slimmer fit i figured i didn't need it so i popped the rivets and took the stitching out and removed the entire buckle & strap.

I believe Paul spoke with a rep (or someone in the know) awhile back-- they are supposed to crock a bit more quickly than the raw. Something about a resin finish that creates this effect. So, yes, they will definitely fade. If you've got a good deal, buy em and post pics here, I'd be interested in seeing how they evolve.

Yup nice fit Max..

I also have a pair of 20's 201 that happen to be a size too big, making these hard to pull off jeans even harder to work... i've done two 40° hot soaks, but I am now considering a 90° wash, although i've never dared washing my lvc above 60, but yours look fine so i think i might go ahead with it..

tag size 34x34, shrunk about an inch a half but let's just say ive still got a little more sag then i'd like..

love the 201 model though, the high waist, narrow top block and straight wide legs really gives a nice elegant retro silhouette, especially tucked in, quite a different look from similar time period 501's ( ive also got 1917's ) footwear is much harder to coordinate though because of the wide hem, strictly work boot friendly i'm afraid!

^Filson's suspenders look good, but they are overly heavy and inflexible. They are so stiff and thick that you almost have to use pliers to get them on and off of the buttons, and usually end up wanting to rip them off after a ten minute struggle, buttons and all.

Who needs break in time for suspenders?
