Looking for rain jacket/soft shell recommendations for under $300. Needs to be waterproof since I live in Seattle and will have a lot of rain. I've looked into the usual Patagonia, NorthFace, etc. Just wondering if anyone on here would have something to mention that I might have overlooked.

Thanks

honestly, for under $300 the old patagonia torrentshell was great but the 2013 redesign fucking sucks. maybe try and get one of the older ones, there's still some up on ebay.

Copped a Theory+ Runner pant in Awarded! I haven't decided if I'll keep it. I had to size up in order to fit my thighs and lower legs! So the waist is a bit big. They have draw string thightening but they drape a bit weird! But the quality seems good!

In touch with my feminine side it seems, in a bid to get a more technical wardrobe to the fairer sex, Mountain Hardwear have a tech merino/synthetic mix fabric crafted into a dress that I think it quite natty:

Check it out here which give more of a lowdown on the fabric too, interesting, http://www.mountainhardwear.com/womens-pandra-ponte-dress-1551531.html?dwvar_1551531_variationColor=624

What do you guys think of the Sinn watches? Thinking specifically on the Sinn EZM 13 and the other watches in the EZM series. Used by both SAS, GSG9 and more.

Watch-nerds say Sinn make the perfect watches, with a great balance between technology and price.

^^Maybe.  I wonder how the pants fit, if they're even close to tight they might be a real good cool (rainy) weather active pant.  They don't even try to show how any of it fits  <_<

Maybe less "urban," but the crew at least looks like a nice windshirt

I dunno about those two models, but I wear a U1 everyday.  It's got a nice look and keeps OK time.  I've never heard anybody complain about a Sinn of any model.  :)

^ second that, i thought about the pants but price is pretty strong imo but i will prob end up with a pair for the british winter!

As i said i bought the crew mainly to baord in as it will be the perfect second layer under a hardshell

yes as this is a snowboard brand i assume the fit will be a little baggy/oversize but if i get the crew sizing right i can see me wearing this off the mountain.

Same thing with mine, she really likes it, is cheap and looks great but fuck the "no international shipping"-thing, it's 2014 for god's sake, every online shop should have fucking international shipping. It really pisses me off.

Hope they'll get it someday in the EU store.

RFID/faraday pockets, if you're into that kind of thing (Which I suppose I am, as I just ordered one)  :)

Clothes look kind of so-so and the movie is cheesy, but the idea is neat

I've seen plenty of people with the chunky aluminum RFID wallets but I've never seen one this size and material. I like the integration into the pants, hopefully I can find similar modular usefulness out of it :)

Descente x Foot the Coacher down jacket from last winter

Is there anything comparable to this that's available this season? Hooded parka, black, padded/down, warm enough for cold winters, no branding, doesn't go halfway down your thighs..

Theres a couple new jackets up on Isaora, in particular I like the new parka shell :)

http://www.isaora.com/collections/all-jackets-3-0/products/3l-tech-ux-parka-shell-drk-green

I've been pretty happy with my wetworker from earlier this season but I'm wondering if their "signature" phone pocket will fit all the new iPhones everybody is about to have. The last ones were sized specific for the iPhone 5

yeah pants look alright. still heard too much bad shit about isaora though to buy at retail, which is ok since everything typically makes it to sale every season lol.

but apparently theve worked on their quality issues through downsizing their lines. customer service was another common complain though.

i like the slouchy fit on their merino t's, and $65 is a decent price assuming it's 100% merino.

definitely wouldnt drop $500 on an isaora jacket though tbh. trust arcteryx and other companies way more.
