RESOLUTE by hayashi-san!

@beautiful_FrEaK I noticed you take a 34 in your new Sugar Canes. Would you say that corresponds to a 34 in Resolute 711?

I'm a 32 in Sugar Cane (55Z and 66 anyway,  I don't have the 43 or 46 but I imagine they'd be the same) so I think the 34 in Resolute might be too big.

The 33 didn't work out. It seems the difference between my true waist and my hips, where the very low rise 711 sits, was greater than I thought. So these are now in the sale thread.

Yeah rise is very tricky. I always take it into account but I don't generally wear jeans with as low a rise as the 711. I think I probably have a bigger waist to hips ratio than most so the rise makes a bigger difference. Otherwise I like the fit and the denim (and the short length for summer) so I'll probably get the 34 once I manage to move the 33 on.

I prefer the silhouette of the 711, especially for wearing at ankle length with trainers in the summer. I also quite the low rise to wear with untucked t-shirts.

I'm pretty confident the 34 will work for me. (But fingers still crossed...)

At the denim market I went to today I managed to snag these almost new 710s for a great price, I've always wanted to give the 710 another honest try so it felt right to pick them up. The inseam is slightly shorter than what I'm used to but that's the Resolute style I suppose? First impressions are really good, love the lightness and fuzzyness of the denim and they are not quite as slim as I expected the 710 to be.

A little bit of Hayashi-style for those who like that!

That’s a nice slim straight fit. I have a size 38 and it is a slip taper and almost carrot fit but wish I could achieve that fit because I do like the 710 denim s lot.

@NilsLW nice fit! I wear the same size as you and they fit me exactly the same. You almost forget the inseam is shorter than others once you've worn them for a bit. Makes them really easy to wear with different types of shoes too, boots, sneakers, oxfords etc.

Scored a pair of 710 2nd hand. They've arrived loom to be completely unworn and still have the blue tag attached with the orange plastic tie.

Took a chance as previous conversation here suggested I need to size up in the waist (glad I did! ) and the 34 leg would actually come in around 31.

Am I right to assume these will lose more length and some width on first wash?

Couple inch in length and a 1/4 inch in width below the knees and these will be golden and no hemming required

Hi guys, I'm sure you've seen this on Resolute's IG but just wanted to share a photo of the Resolute GB (Ghost Black) which will be released on 2025.

Here side by side is how it looks new versus worn for about a year.. even new, it doesn't have a very deep black color, almost like a deep indigo/navy which I really like.

Sorry to hear that! Factoring in the rise can be tricky.
All I can say I have the SC1943 and SC1946 both in W34 as well as the 711 and the latter feels smaller.

Do you by chance have photos comparing these two on you? Between the 1947 and 711 myself. Leaning towards the latter but a little scared they’ll be too small for my caboose

@dum_surfer I have several fit pics across the board of both but unfortunaley they are at different weights...
If you fear the 711 will be too small, just buy a bigger size ;) The different rise has a big impact.

What i write her seems to be verging on sacrilege BUT is anyone else not that impressed by how their 714 / 711s are fading?

Basically I thought my wife had my 714s but turned out it was her M&S mom jeans (made in Egypt 1% elastine). They look VERY similar in colour and fading right now. I was kind of feeling a bit meh about the texture and colour anyway and when I saw they looked almost identical to standard high street pair that go for £25 I'm kind of like 'huh?!'

Maybe my 714s are in that awkward phase and need to fade more. Just an observation.

Lol absolutely no shade thrown at M&S jeans or elastine whatever but just didn't expect them to look very similar to a much higher quality pair. Maybe says more about M&S denim.

Aware as well there is more to the pair than the colour and fading and the craftsmanship ect is still on another level.

Anyway here's a couple of comparison photos 😂

No blasphemy. I really like the 711/714 denim...raw. It is also not my favourite faded. Especially when washed very often. The 710 takes the regular washing better.

I love how my 710s faded too but just found them too slim after a while. Shame

@PrettyBoyTony Agreed, I don’t think 40s/50s fabrics necessarily benefit from frequent washing. The 710 is the only pair in their lineup that looks really good washed-out imo. I’ve been wearing my 710s pretty hard since early summer and have only given them a soak so far. Interested to see how my Resolutes will fade with less washing since I can’t really find any examples online.
