It's a very mild winter here in Stockholm at the moment, a fleece over a sweatshirt is warm enough today! I'm a bit wary of showing my face on the web, so hopefully this fit pic taken off my floor is sufficient enough haha Patagonia fleece, mock neck sweatshirt from Aime Leon Dore, jeans from TCB and my trusted Marimekko messenger bag.

Lovely. Look at that fantastic roping!

Quite slow fading on the 505s at roughly 6 months of wear. I've tried to wash these less than my other pairs to achieve higher contrast fades so only 3 washes so far.

Very exciting! Hoping for a 517 or early 80’s 501 repro, a non selvedge 90’s 501 would be really cool too.

Does anyone own the outdoor wool pile fleece jacket? I am curious about general thoughts on it and if it's worth it's price. I own a modern retro pile from Patagonia but I find the fit to be a bit long and awkward, and quality a bit so-so. What I like about the Real McCoy's is that it's made out of a wool/cotton blend opposed to Patagonia's microplastic fleece material. This would be my first garment from Real McCoy's.

Snagged this curious pair of vintage 501s on Tradera (Swedish eBay) for $7. I wonder if those are selvedge train tracks? The centered jacron patch is throwing me off, I know they are a feature of 80's Levi's but never saw them on redlines. The copper top button also make me skeptical, fakes perhaps? Probably wishful thinking but they were so cheap however so worth the risk. We will see when they arrive. Edit: Bartack and obvious zipper fades on the fly indicate 505s, even though they were labeled as 501s. That would explain the copper top button too. Fingers crossed I’m correct about the selvedge train tracks.

Surprised, isn't the 0105 labeled as a wide straight? Looks more like a true straight to me. Amazing fit nonetheless, they look really really good on you.

Lovely fade and color. Is this a contest pair?

TCB’s Wrangler repro, the working cat hero jeans, come in a 11oz denim.

I hope so. I actually find the modern so called ”premium line” 501s to be of good quality. I have two pairs that have been used a lot the last three years and hold up well. The only issue is they are too small in the thighs so I have to size up one in the waist so if they widen them slightly that would be welcomed by me. I wonder however if they will start selling selvedge in their regular lineup once LVC is shut down. I think there is a good gap to fill between the cheap $35 STFs and the really expensive LVCs. A $90 selvedge 501 STF is probably very doable and something I would buy in a heartbeat (just a reminder that Uniqlo does kaihara selvedge jeans for $55).

The BMW museum in Munich is great. I'm personally a big fan of the Alps too, can be a bit rainy this time of year though. On another note, can anyone recommend any good repro sweatshirts or hoodies other than Warehouse or Real McCoys? I'm curious what other good options are out there.

@sindre I believe Per Ljung in Malmö might be able order 711s for you even though they only have the 710 on their website. Try reaching out over email, they are very helpful and friendly. Edit, I see that they actually do stock the 711 now! Might be good to know for all people located in Europe interested in Resolute. https://www.perljung.se

Converse made in Japan comes to mind. I wasn’t happy with my pair (rubber midsole disintigrated on the sides after 6 months). But have only heard good things from other people so perhaps I got a bad pair?

@julian-wolfYeah I've noticed that too. No I just toss them into the washing machine and let them line dry without much extra thought. It's a pretty cool effect though and I wonder if it will be enhanced with more wear.

the 1966's are starting to look really good at the ~5 month mark.

@beautiful_FrEaK The pair with two red tabs remind me of a pair of late 60s Levis 501s with two red tabs from Long John's denim blog. Even though the Denimes seem to be a 50s cut, it's a cool detail nonetheless. https://long-john.nl/vintage-levis-jeans-501-double-red-tab-1960s/

Perfect jeans. The 66 cut is so good.

You kinda have to pull your pants down when they only come with a 34 inch inseam raw

I’m eyeing a pair of almost raw Levi’s 501-0115 from the early 80’s in my size online. Is there a difference between the 501-0115 compared to the ”regular” 501?

@Per Ljung I'm from Stockholm but part of my family originates from Ystad so I spend most summers in Österlen and around Skåne. Cool to hear that Hayashi is coming to your shop, is he doing some sort of Europe tour for his brand?
-
Very exiting! I'll definitely be there. Malmö is such a lovely city too.

TCB's take on the WWII 501 is quite nice imo, especially the denim. But there is something about the cut that is slightly cartoonish when compared to other brands, I feel like every detail is exaggerated. For example the high rise (which is really really high), the wonky stitching on the backpockets and their size, as well as the overall shape of the pants. From pictures I've seen and from my own experience they also tend to get a diaper butt much more than other brand's take on the cut. Just have to say how much I love the denim though, it would be cool if TCB made a mid waist version of the 40s. Next time I buy a WWII pair it will probably be Warehouse 1003.

Really cool how you have both high contrast as well as subtle whiskers on those. Really great pair.

Nice, I've been eyeing their products for a while and they seem to make really good stuff for the price. I believe they use kaihara denim in their jeans and those have faded beautifully! Love that tone of blue.

Thanks!
