  1. About 14 months at two or three wears a week. Not wearing them super hard but not babying them either. Deadstock 1960s Frye boots. Minus a few popped stitches at the inside ankle these are wearing like iron. And some shots when new...

  4. Washed my 1880s and 1890s. Obvs I've posted the 1880s a lot here - the last new Cone denim design, natural indigo grown in Nashville. Thye are fabulous. What we love with denim is now different jeans wear in differently. These crock a lot - but the areas without wear retain their colour. These have had a lot of wear, maybe 18 months of summers. Marbling at the back of the legs is lovely, I will post a pic when I can. The 1890s (left on the dual pic) are Kurabo, the jeans are posted as new right at the beginning of this thread. Kurabo's version of the early fabric is very green. I like that too but it doesn't have the micro texture of the Cone. These were really hard to wear in, almost no crocking with wear. THey are now my main summer jeans as I can't bear to retire my 1880s, which have now those little loose threads that signals that heavy repairs will soon be needed.

  5. Was kinda shocked to read in some thread or other here that you and double O wear shorts in like 17 c or above? If I had to live like that I’d never get a chance to wear jeans. it’s been 36-37 with ~ 70% humidity for the past week here. All of my jeans have been hung for like a month now. But I hear Texas gets quite hot as well.

  6. Slightly different story for me.. i still wear jeans everyday for work, difference is, in a pre-brexit, pre-cost of living crisis, pre-full cost proxy, pre-single income family world.. i would buy fancy denim just to wear in my workshop.. i was tearing through a pair of jeans every 12mths but they weren't an expensive commodity for me in those days.. Nowadays, for work, i just buy a pair of vintage Carhartt Carpenter pants for £35.. they last around the same amount of time as a £250 pair of fancy JP repros.. i also cycle commute so i don't wear jeans to and from work, my days off are spent either playing tennis or MTB'ing around the Peak District, again, not in jeans.. i 'm not wearing jeans as often through the hotter months so until our economy sorts it's shit out or until the colder months return i'll only be wearing fancy jp-repros for 9mths of the year.

  15. On your first point, my ideal (working outdoors) uk summer temperature l would say is between 12 and 20 degrees C. That's being active outside for 8 hours whilst in t-shirt and shorts. Anything over 25 degrees is now a struggle. Atm I'm sitting inside with a fan on in 29 degrees. Body temp seems to have had a major shift since getting into my 50's. Or is it global warming 🤔 😅 On your second point, my body often 'forgets' what it's like to wear jeans between April - October. So it is now August and starting to feel like l won't ever get to wear jeans again - it's like l'm losing my denim memory-map. Can't wait for the cooler months here so l can don my texas tux!

  16. NEW BONCOURA FALL COLLECTION Over the past couple of years Boncoura has turned into a favorite of ours at our stores. They take the simple basics we're all accustomed to and turn up the attention to detail of both the fabric and sewing, but so subtlety, that most wouldn't notice until a closer look is taken. This is true with even the simplest of garments such as hoodies or 5-pocket jeans. We're excited to be expanding what we stock from them; we enjoy working with a line which moves slowly and releases small and focused seasonal collections. This season we see them doing their version of a "rodeo" jean, a refined version of a classic CPO shirt, a Self Edge exclusive hoodie, and some very nice pile cotton socks. We've done extensive write-ups for each of these on the product pages on our site, check them out if you're curious to find out what goes into making a Boncoura garment. 17. I can concur. I’m on my 3rd set of duke denim. Mine fit way more closer to the look book pic of the guy wearing the white 0105. This pic is the first line of duke denim they released. But I am following the stereotype skater dude vibe with hoodie 😂

  20. I think the jeans could look good on someone else. the models look like skinny lanky dudes where anything this loose will fit a little dumpy on them. esp the older man....no shade to him at all but he def seems like he has the older man saggy body build.

  25. @chicote Thanks! Just one dip, I think, although I wasn’t party. The powdered indigo is probably from Dharma Trading Co. This was both of our first times’ dyeing with indigo (all I did was an old spare pillow case). The vat reeks, but once the fabrics dry they smell fantastic.

  26. @atwm, thanks! Glad your family member is doing fine. Yes, the initial recovery sucks, mainly due to the catheter. If you've never had one, count yourself lucky. I also had a hernia that was fixed (got a buy one get one free), so my recovery is a little more painful and restrictions are longer. @MJF9, yep the dreaded rubber glove test. Which has been skipped at some of my annual physicals. My advice don't skip it! Ask for it if they aren't going to do it. They did detect a "nodule" during mine which was a cancerous tumor (found by followup MRIs). My doctor recommended the PSA check starting at age 55 or so for me. I had just switched to him. It increased each year (big warning sign). I think everyone should include it in their bloodwork, along with other things that can be tested (google all of the blood tests that can be done). Typically, at least in my area, that annual physical covers a "general" battery of tests on your blood. Including your PSA and testosterone level should be added at the least. If you baseline those now and test each year, it can help as an indicator of health changes. @Maynard Friedman thanks! Because my cancer didn't spread beyond the tumor, I have a great chance of being cancer free going forward. I'll have to order up some Studio D's from PSA for a WAYWT,

  27. My partner inherited my lot 501 Edo Ai a while ago, but never ended up wearing them much, I guess because of how loud they were—mostly the streaky dye job. Recently, they bleached them and overdyed with indigo, hoping to end up with a more consistent color. I’m really pleased with how they turned out: hopefully they’ll end up seeing some more wear again

  28. Thanks @MJF9! Hope to be added to the list of cancer survivors. I guess I'll make this a PSA (public service announcement) on the PSA (prostrate specific antigen). All men should know (eventually) about their PSA level. It is a possible indicator of prostate cancer. If your general physician doesn't do an annual test for this in your blood labs, have them add it. While it's not a 100% fool proof test, if it is rising (hence the annual check to keep tabs) and you also have other symptoms (which can be very vague) then an MRI may be warranted. My story is no drug use, no smoking, low alcohol use and only one person with cancer in my family background. But the symptoms can be very little things that add up over time and you may pass them off as "I'm getting older". Pay attention to your urinary function and your sexual function and give all details (even minor) to your doctor. It can add up to an aggressive tumor in your prostrate, which can also spread cancer to other regions (luckily, mine did not). I'm just putting this out there because it may help even one of you catch things early!! Stay healthy and listen to your body. Cheers

  29. Yep the label has the Circle R only but not the M.R. which would date it around 1966-1967. With the M.R. It would be around 1968-1971

  41. Union Special M-1942 HBT cut-length trousers W32 waist: 40cm (15.75“) FR: 30cm (11.8“) BR: 45cm (17.7“) Inseam: 19,5cm (7.7“) Some info here: https://corlection.com/blogs/news/freewheelers-m-1942-hbt-cut-length-trousers https://sonofastag.com/products/freewheelers-2122021-m-1942-short-olive?variant=39490042855509 It took me quite some effort to find these. Unfortunately only in W32, which is too small, I have to realize. Therefore not much wear. Lovely fabric, nice details. These had cost me around EUR 200. Looking for EUR 135 + shipping. Chain stitch run offs intact.
