  1. Sorry to be posting more of the same, but here's some more shots taken indoors which show the denim colour and texture a bit better. Will have to get some nice shots using a proper camera one day. Like l said before, Love these. The 506XX jacket has got hardly any wear when compared to the jeans but does share some of the nice puckering... First post with pics that haven't been Sufu'd. I'm having a beer!

  6. @chicote both the 147 and the 162 jeans below are w34, both washed at 30C, line dry only. The 162 have seen more action and are softer due to that but would be anyway as the denim is stretchier. The 147 is nipped more at the waist (not sure the pics show it up, but a few others above and previously have said the same, and @smoothsailor's pics above give a hint at this), plus the denim on the 147 waistband is double thickness and is also a consideration. Fine margins, I know, but worth noting. Timeworn direct are helpful for sure as Alec says, but I think other members have reported they have got it slightly wrong on length and shrinkage, so worth erring on the side of caution imo... 147 162

  8. 0105 after 18 months of regular wear. Pretty satisfied with these but unlikely to consider another pair due to the excessive back rise (you can see some fade lines on the yoke due to the sag). Something I pay more attention to now... still, they are the most comfortable jeans I've owned and a super versatile cut overall. Plenty of missing threads and some heavy wear on the cuffs. Not sure what size these are as the patch had a 33 but the inner tag has a 32 – anyone else have this on their pair? Peek-a-boo:

  10. They’re both WW2 models S501XX - their details are about the same - and both based on real vintage pairs so their cut and shapes are different between The 22501XX uses Conners WW2 denim and fits fuller through the hips. This denim is dark and has a lot of character I could be mistaken about this - but I believe the 22501 uses the Miura denim. Either way, the denim is a bit lighter and greyer in color. The fit through the hips is slimmer, flares quite a bit. My pair was tight in the hips and loose in the waist, while my 22501XX fit perfect in the waist and have room in the entire top block The statement that the denim used on the 22501 is sanforized - I believe that is untrue - maybe someone else can chime in?

  19. Ah. I see Thank you I had done a quick search for the 162 and got images of jeans with Lee type rivets. I saw now, that those were for the Lot 161.

  22. At their current prices, even 30% off is a little rich for me…I'll stick to Yahoo I think Some of their Buzz Rickson's stuff is pretty appealing, though

  24. Depending on the brand but I usually go for 42-43 cm across for the waist. I tried a 34 and 36 for the tcb 50. 34 was snug but would have stretched. The 36 fit more like fullcount0105 so went with that. Need a belt after a few days as they stretch but I'm fine with that and have grown (literally) to prefer using a belt than feeling too tight in the waist

  25. Thanks MJ, maybe a bit of both.. the 1/4 zips are XL and cavernous.. the footy shirts are XL but would probably fit me as a size med.

  26. Don't know Neal and also asked a friend. Speculating... they could possibly be training kit for the academy or youth teams or maybe the senior team. It seems Yelo are still sponsoring SUFC into 25/26 season.

  27. Thanks, yeah measurements definitely look bigger than some brands. I have some Freewheelers shirts I really like but find their collar proportions are sometimes a bit small so the longer point collar on the Big Yank stuff appealed for a change of pace. I've tried the Rite Stuff before but mis-sized and it was nice but maybe I'd been spoiled by FW shirting as it didn't seem as special by comparison, maybe Big Yank won't either, will see I guess. Anatomica / Big Yank etc. seem to have a few different online stores... but maybe they all ship from the same place. I was looking at the 1920s yoke model

  28. @Lorcan I really like them. I've got an ecru 1935 model and a blue chambray 1942 model. They run quite big conpared to tag (or at least used to) so worth checking measurements. The Big Yank cuff design is a winner on its own. I tried the Anatomica Japan online store - they will ship overseas but wouldn't play with declared value... at least that was the case a few years ago. What have you got your eye on?

  30. The colour and fades on these are really great! I also found the back rise too long for me so I sold mine and sized up on some TCBs 50. The denim feels very similar (Zimbabwean cotton) and the rise is much shorter at the back. They also have a baggy version of the 50s coming out you might prefer. The denim is super comfortable

  37. I’m shifting. I’ve always been shifting. But I shifted deeper in . There must be a more obscure brand, harder to get a few snobs know about. But not to snobbish. It was /is a fine line I balanced on( at least in my perspective) I guess it started at no buy 2019 I believe it was. That was easy when financial situation changed, I sold my engineers, and Mr freedom stuff. all I need is a white t shirt a good pair of jeans. now it’s time to buy a new pair of shorts, (rabbit hole) I stumbled upon service works. And blacksmith’s webshop Seems nice stuff and more in my nowadays financial reach. Looks like all the basics I like, but not so obscure . life is always shifting

  39. Photos always seem lighter than reality with my phone but here are my pair of WH 1915 Belt loop model (1922 501XX) after their 3rd wash. Denim has faded super fast compared to what l'm usually used to but l have had them as part of rotation for nearly 3 years so l guess that's fair. Only a little cotton becoming worn/unravelled at the front pocket openings otherwise they are outstanding imo. Patch is a doppelganger for a vintage one. Love these. Anyway, so the first photo has been Sufu'd cos l had to chop my toes out of the pic, sorry

  40. 1109xx Probably had these about 10yrs. Only ever worn in sporadic bursts, then shelved for a bit, then dusted off & brought back out... etc etc. I change the cuff size all the time too, never settled on the right length, but whatever, it just adds to the charm of them.

  43. Pretty disappointed in NB. These have lasted about 8 months and I've worn them roughly 3 times a week prob less in the winter. Are the made in UK/US more robust? Shame as they are so comfortable. I have a pair of Mizuno running shoes I ran a marathon in and are still my gym shoes despite being 6 years old. Still not falling apart...
