  2. Lovely fades Ben, I’ve found that my best fades come over a long stretch of time. Speaking of which… I’ll take more pics soon, but here’s a peek at my Flat Head 7002W shirt, ten years after I bought it.

  6. Couple month old pics of my '14 D105's that I've been wearing for the last 6ish years.... pathetic progress I know but still in love with this denim! Just snagged a size up in some natural indigo 3005s that'll probably be next but can't see stopping these anytime soon. Still need to get around to the right length though...

  7. New Denime sweatshirt, after a wash and dry. Love the fit, jersey is super soft and the perfect weight for wearing over a tee, as shown, or layering. Denime’s jeans aren’t long enough for me but I’m happy to wear their tops.

  8. Nice to see PrettyBoyTony in WAYWT making highstreet labels look no different to denim-snob labels.. it's how this place used to be, we all came here as denim nerds but before too long, due in part to our pathetic inability to resist consumer urges we were all wearing head to toe sufu approved brands.. I've always tried to resist buying fancy t-shirts, £5 Gildan tees fit me perfectly so why spend £40 on Whitesville tees..? folks working at the Whitesville factory in Japan will probably have better working conditions than the folks working at the Gildan factory in Haiti .. but then, with the lack of employment opportunities in wartorn, earthquake struck Haiti.. i'm sure any work, (apart from working down the old poison mine) is better than no work at all so should i buy tees from Haiti or not? are Gildan taking advantage of cheap labour.. probably, yes. So why do I/we feel compelled to use the "im paying a little more to ensure better working conditions" argument when buying clothing yet only today on my way home from work, i called at Tesco to buy some ramen and zero fucks were given for the folks working in the Chinese noodle factory.. their working conditions could be terrible but i just tossed them in the basket along with everything else i bought from far off lands.. only drawing the line at Dr Oetker I appreciate there is a lot of clothing we crave here which can't be bought on the UK highstreet (for less than car money) our jeans for one with all their period correct intricacies.. i also appreciate those folks buying expensive tees could say the same thing.. but we didn't come here as t-shirt nerds.. the forum manipulated us into buying expensive t-shirts.. ..or Aliens ring coat for two.. you would struggle to find anything akin to this on the highstreet, therefore it is worth buying.. but if you take a flannel shirt for instance .. i've bought a few Woolrich varieties from the local vintage joint for work shirts.. a step up in price would be Uniqlo followed by M&S, SC, UES.. IH then RO with £1000 separating the cheapest from the most expensive for essentially something that looks quite similar.. even to me.. The shirt-nerds would strike me down in flames.. but again, we didn't come here as shirt nerds.. the forum made us into shirt nerds, it's not called Supershirts is it?

  10. Usually, Denime uses a selvedge weave in this pattern: ↖↗↗↖, like in the Lot 220A. I noticed that in the ‘Vintage Banner’ denim lots—220XX-54 and 220XX-47—the weave used was like this: ↗↗↗↗, similar to the 1950s 501XX. Does anyone know if this is the first time Denime has used this ↗↗↗↗ weave?

  22. I've never been able to buy any clothing from MF because it is all too slim fitting for my build, but I did buy this tote in - I think - 2015 - during a trip to Los Angeles, before I moved here from the UK in 2020. Just dug it out and washed it. Here are some photos. Straight outta the wash and some post-dry details. Slightly obvious as to which side rubbed against my torso during daily use for a few years.

  23. Few randoms as I clean out the closet: Levi's 519 Premium line, purchased from Levi's Kyoto store in 2006. My first pair worn from raw, loooove the vertical falling on these, really comfortable fabric as well (maybe 10.75 oz.?) Sugarcane 1966 from 2010. Need pictures of the frontside sometime, the whiskering is really ideal for my taste. TCB Contest Jeans: Can't remember when this was, but I really tested the limits on this fabric with washing/drying. Wouldn't do it again as I prefer a more balanced washed/air dry look these days, but it was an interesting experiment. The fabric itself has wild puckering/marbling properties They're really that intense in real life too, really comical 😅

  24. @frank Yeah I get you. I just tried them on and they were just a bit loose in the waist, but I figured that would get fixed with a warm soak so I just went full commitment and got to ripping the arcs off. @Alec Leamas Yes both are size 34. I referenced an old measurement chart for the cowboy model and they were pretty similar in measurements so i decided to stick to the same size.

  25. @Double 0 Soul Thanks. The buttoned up one was actually a Tri-P coat, similar but a little different.I have that one in a size down, and have a shorter variant, I throw it on all the time as an extra morning layer for when I bike my kid to school. I picked up my wife a ring coat a while back too - we’re in deep over here. I’m really more of a sucker for coats and jackets than jeans in the end - the Kapital ones I love because I actually find them to be quite convenient due to their volume. Great for comfortably layering where I’m at. Bonus is that while military inspired they’re not military repro, which I never felt like I could/wanted to pull off.

  29. Same as you folk - I exercise 5-6 times a week, have done forever and will continue until something bad stops me. It's my panacea. Now you mention lockdown @ATWM, while it had so many bad and sad effects, the daily family exercise regime at ours was great. Family workouts - hill sprints in the park, Muay Thai circuit training in the garden, weight training with some old kit I've had since my mid-teens when I started strength training to help football and athletics, we even used an old cinder 400m track and trained there - with even a timed 4x100m family relay to finish (and try beat the time at the next session). Memorable in many ways.

  32. My kettlebells and rowing erg in our studio apartment saved my mind in the early months of the pandemic. Especially as where I lived at that time was not great for walking/running - which I did also do. Thankfully where I’m at now is better for getting outside, so I mix it up. Unless I’m sick I need to do something 5-6 days a week to feel okay and hope to until I keel over.

  33. This is the main thing. Doing what you can and making small improvements. Having the dedication is the main effort for me. I’d love to have some own my own equipment, but our place is too small, so off to the local gym a couple of times a week. That and a bit of running. Either or depending on the weather and my mood. I always feel better afterwards, even if it makes me tired and less productive for the remaining hours of the day when I’m supposed to be concentrating the most.

  34. @blooming Thank you for your advice. I just ordered the 711 to enjoy Hayashi’s signature style. I love the 714, but I like the wider leg opening of the 711. I hope the back rise won’t be too low. I’ve tried quite a few jeans over the years, and Resolute’s denim is truly incredible—I think it’s my favorite.

  36. My lad was playing football on the east cost near Filey, about 1.5 hours away from home, so we made a trip to the beach there. A 6-1 cup win and a goal for Junior MJF9 made for a good morning Filey is a really dilapidated old English seaside town... but, regardless, we do like to be beside the seaside We were Hank Marvin so the fish 'n' chips never lasted long Staged fit pics of the WoM 5150s with the other stuff I'm wearing regularly... not much to see yet... this looks like being a slow burn for me And nope... a quick sea-wash didn't tempt me... this time

  38. Late 40s jacket arrived in today. Super crispy still and in need of breaking in but very happy with the shorter fit compared to my 20s and all the ww2 detailing! The denim has a bit of a redder hue and is simple but hairy. Wrestled with getting the cinch back to buckle properly a bit but looking forward to wearing this practically daily going forward.

  39. A Tale of Two Sizes Levis 501 Shrink to fit with Indigo X pink denim. Size 32 x 30 on left Size 34 x 30 on right The differences look pretty subtle at first but they are pretty drastic on closer inspection. The smaller pair is closer to my true size and shrank to a pretty snug nearly perfect slimmer straight leg. A pretty noticeable difference in the rise, hips, thighs and leg shape. The hem is still fairly roomy allowing all my boots plenty of space. Oddly enough the two pairs are nearly identical below the knees. In contrast the bigger pair is still fairly fitted in the top block due to the higher rise but is much looser in the thigh and all the way down with a slightly roomier leg opening. The knees bags are pretty stretched out too. Closer to a classic mid century fit. Relaxed and straight but not baggy. Both pairs have been worn pretty regularly in my rotation for about a year but neither have accumulated the six months of use to qualify for a full wash yet. The slimmer pair has been worn about 25% less often but were started a few months earlier. I'm preferring the wear pattern and developing fade on the looser pair and that seems to be a result of the fabric having more room to move and fold while worn. It's also because I prefer the looser fit these days, and therfore they are just getting more wear. I took these shots to compare the silhouettes more closely and also to compare the way the denim is fading.

  40. My TCB 30s just arrived @blooming You’re gunna love them. Super roomy and comfortable right off the bat, exactly the kind of wider fit I was hoping for. Couldn’t be happier with how they sit on me! Rocking a big cuff for now until I give these a wash in a month or so. My only (small) gripe is that clever web shop chainstitched hemmed these bad boys with copper thread instead of the original yellow, making the hem the only copper thread used on the pair. I have access to a local chainstitch service that could re-do it yellow (especially if I want a smaller cuff after washing) but the thing is despite between copper it’s a REALLY clean union special chainstitch that looks like it will rope very nicely. What would you guys do?

  42. Just realized that today marks 2 years since I got these and wow natural indigo is stubborn! Not exact 1873 SDA repro. You can see some minor fading in the crotch and it’s kinda cool how there’s some fading where the back pocket should be. Took em out of the dryer like 5 minutes ago, so they feel real clean. 5 or 6th wash I think.

  43. Posted an update of my 3005XXX jeans in the Evo thread, check it out. I also started wearing the 1005s I got about a year ago. Compared to my 3005s in the same tag size 32, these are slightly more relaxed, which I like. After a warm wash with other denim laundry, the inseam shrank from almost 38" down to 35", making these quite pleasantly long with some modest stacking for some Dad Fit vibes overall. This is the first pair I've begun wearing since I stopped cuffing my jeans and putting wallets or other stuff in the back pockets, so it'll be nice to see a little different evo on these compared to my past pairs. Very comfy jeans from day one, thanks to the fit. Back in 2013-14 I wore the 1001, so I have some familiarity with the 16 oz denim. It's imperceptibly heavier than TFH's usual 14.5, but it feels like a slightly looser/stretchier weave, and has a slightly rougher hand. In my experience with the 1001, I felt that this 16 oz denim aged much faster than the 14.5 oz, which is one of the slower-fading fabrics out there unless you're wearing your jeans super tight like in SuFu's late 2000s heyday. I got great fades out of my 1001 despite a fairly frequent washing schedule of every other month. With this pair, I'll probably hold off as long as I can before the first wash for some rather different evo. Otherwise, the main things that stand out with this pair is that the back pockets are larger than other TFH jeans, giving a slightly different impression; and the front pocket openings are also larger, making this the easiest TFH pair for me to fit my hands into. Unlike my second pair of 3005s, these don't have the double poly-cotton/cotton stitching on the front pocket openings and back pocket edges, so we'll see how long that stitching lasts. For what it's worth, in the nine months of wear I put into my 1001s, the back pocket edge stitching didn't break at all.

  44. Flat Head 3005XXX. Worn since August 2018. I lost track of wear time, but I think they’re around 20 months of actual wear. Easily my most worn jeans ever, and washed countless times. I wore these jeans the most over the past summer. I stopped cuffing them and wearing a wallet in the back pocket in this same time. Still tons of life left in these. The hem, knees, and rear end/back rise seam all need or will soon need repairs. The jeans were previously repaired at Indigo Proof in 2020 or so, where the front pocket openings were expanded, the pocket bags replaced with deeper ones, back pocket stitching repaired, and cuff tears repaired. It's been quite impressive that I managed to wear these for so long without the knees blowing out, though they're pretty close now.

  45. So, I didn’t fade these. I found them on Grailed, and thought that I should post them for a reference of how these fade. I did do quite a few seam repairs to make the stable and wearable. Old Full Count flare/low rise boot cut.
