Ciao... a few pics from the week... been doing a bit of walking in them... settling down very nicely... I can feel the Italian influence in the jeans, as you'll detect from my greeting Got this Mystery Ranch backpack recently which I really like - I'm no expert but it's comfy with loads of little handy pockets for stuff and seems pretty robust Went into the city with my lad, picked up a Panasonic TZ99 which I had on order... into House of Fu for a nice California bowl of Japanese inspired goodness... ... then went to see my mate Mavis who didn't have a scoobies about the Sufu #WoMCon... wtf... it'll go viral at some point folks... it's just a matter of time10 points

Happy Birthday Martin! .. this'll make you laugh! I was just watching Stranger Things with Sarah and the boy came home from school with a parcel, saying excitedly ‘I’ve just found this on the doorstep and it’s addressed to me” he doesn't ordinarily get post. I had a look, it was delivered by RM but the house number was one digit out, the postcode was one letter out and the street name had a spelling mistake.. luckily it got to the right address because when he opened it.. it was a 3D printed butt plug If it would have gone to the wrong address, we'd have to move house! Three of his mates had the idea.. one of them made the packaging in iMedia at school.. i say packaging, it was printed paper wrapped around a box.. one of them 3D printed the plug and one of them posted it. ..the branding is brilliant! certainly on par with any other self respecting purveyors of butt products. Hat's off to them!. it's a genius 21st century schoolboy prank . They all pm'd him out of the group chat to say 'please don't be offended, it was just a joke' which was quite sweet.. we all thought it was hillarious, it's not everyday you see your son opening a box with a butt plug in it. They'd even enclosed a phony receipt, the company address was '1 Oxford Street London' which i immediately googled with zero results before the kid said "it's the lads.. i'm going to fkin kill them! My days.. i love teenagers, they're flipping hilarious!10 points

I ordered this Phlegm book last week in a frenzied.. fastest finger first purchase It was on the doorstep when i got home Signed copy It's a book his etchings over the last few years Sorry about the low light grainy quality.. i can afford frivolous art books, yet i can't afford a decent phone or even light bulbs ..a fold out print too which is a nice touch.. really good value for £20 from his BigCartel No so much for £200+ from scuzbag bot resellers...6 points

Very nice! I love the B-6 he made for me. The collar on yours is a nice flourish, but the zipped pockets would bug me. On the subject of JC and GW, I visited him today. He's a very congenial guy and of course absolutely passionate about his craft. My slot is coming up and I placed an order for one of his civilian jackets. I did try the cross zip Mojave I had tried on in 2021. It still fits. Too bad it has an owner...6 points

Initial impressions are good. They’re perhaps a bit agricultural - QC wise - compared to other $200+ pairs of shoes I own but I guess that’s part of the handmade vibe. They’re already softening up nicely after a couple of hours of wear. I took true to my bannock size (10.5E) and it feels just right. They’re a 10.5D but in reality as they have a natural foot shape, the D is plenty wide. They have zero arch support. Insole is totally flat as a pancake. They smell wonderful. I expect them to last for a very long time and for them to be exceedingly comfy after they’ve molded to my feet. Some photos below. If you had genuinely narrow feet, the C width would probably work better.5 points

Cheers Charlie and Neal. That’s a great present too, can you send it down to me when you’ve finished with it? Might want to give it a rinse first though.4 points

Warehouse Bodies wool jacket came in earlier in the week and I am having trouble getting it dry cleaned because of the leather piping on the pockets. No care tag to be found and not sure of the details from Warehouse regarding when it was made, etc. Does anyone have any info on this jacket that may be helpful?4 points

Sold my (motor) bike long ago but can’t bring myself to part with my Perfecto. Only other downside I would say is that these jackets are in danger of wearing the person. As opposed to the person wearing the jacket. They’re a bit of a statement. Though I think that’s been lessened over the years with how ubiquitous they’ve become. Much as I love mine I can’t pull it off every day, but some days hell yeah.3 points

I sized mine not much expecting to use the cinch, and now they’re cinched all the way. Ha. At least til the next wash.3 points

@vIGGiou riou Something I never see mentioned around here but which I find extremely handy is a pants stretcher. I got one off Amazon maybe five years ago after being previously unaware such a thing existed. Oftentimes the waist on a pair is a little tight relative to the rest for me to get my desired fit - or, as seems to be more often the case, the waist measurement turns out smaller than advertised. So while the jeans are wet from a wash, or after soaking the waistband under the faucet for a one-wash pair, I put in the stretcher, set it to the proper measurement, let the pants dry, and the waist fits just right. It might get there eventually regardless, but I don't really want to endure 2-3 weeks of an uncomfortable fit every time I wash my jeans, so I've found this to be a nice workaround.3 points

These popped up on Celluloid 1984. Warehouse DEAD STOCK BLUE 1010 DSB OFFSET LOOP COWBOY PANTS WW II MODEL TAISEN JEANS WAREHOUSE 2025 New - Celluloid I like them and I'm a sucker for Leepros. The size chart seems pretty similar to the cut of the TCB Cat's Drive, but with some WW2 details instead of a late 40s model. I'd consider getting them, but I still have a tab open for a deadstock pair of Sugar Cane M41027 in my size for less money which would scratch that itch.3 points

Fit pics and impressions of my Late S40s jeans. I absolutely love these jeans. This is my first pair of TCB (and first serious, specific repro jeans) and I'm really impressed, especially considering the sub-$200 price tag. I got this size 31 pair from Bears, and had them hemmed to 34", which is the ideal no-cuff length for me. This is an incredibly quirky pair, given the inspiration from the wartime S501xx. The flannel pocket bags are super cool, the sewing quirks charming and fun. In spite of the replication of the oddities of wartime jeans, these are obviously very well made. The denim is dark, hairy, and full of character, so I'm excited to see how it ages and how close it comes to some of the great-looking S501xx pairs I've seen online. The 13.5 oz weight is just about ideal to me nowadays, and is well suited to life in north Georgia where it's pretty warm most of the year. I like the fit a lot, too. The regular rise feels great, and though there's plenty of hip flare and room in the top, after a couple days of wear the fit has settled and I'm quite pleased with it. This is a pair that's easy to wear daily with all sorts of outfits. Highly recommended!2 points

Recently stumbled upon these: Good Old Co.. They have a 1943XX jeans. And a 1942XX denim jacket.2 points

I got my 220a hemmed by Son of a Stag here in the UK and feel like they did a great job. I'm liking the fit more now as found cuffing them twice or japanese turn up too much especially with boots and didn't wear them as much. Maybe that's just me though. Would have been nice if they had used a lemon coloured thread but not too fussed for £20. Lost some nice roping but imagine after a few washes that will be back.2 points

Lovely stuff @MJF9 love a bit of Leeds Leeds Leeds on here! Mystery Ranch packs are great too! I was undecided between Eberlestock and Mystery Ranch a little while back - came down on an Eberlestock in the end but very similar deal.1 point

when I wore them first day after initial wash they were really snug in waist. After 16 days of wearing them, I can take them off without unbuttoning them easily. So belt is essential now...1 point

Thank you @beautiful_FrEaK! I do really like them! The fit is pretty comfortable. I could always go for more space in the top and a higher rise. But that is always the case. Give me a 13" rise and I'll still need more. I think these will really come into their own by spring/early summer, the fade on them will be getting really significant and they're a good weight for slightly warmer weather. Exciting.1 point

Me and my eldest went to a noodle master class this week, learnt to make Dandanmain and Tonkatsu Ramen. Started off prepping the broth and a black garlic oil. Then onto braising the pork belly. Onto making the noodles from scratch. The chef leading us demo'd a mix at 50% hydration and said 40% were harder to make but resulted in much better noodles.... both of us are OCD/detail fixated so challenge accepted. (Featuring Bronson, Resolute & Birks on me) While the Tonkatsu broth was finishing off (smell was amazing) we made the Dandanmain (spicy beef Chinese noodles) and shared amongst the class. No photos of it finished because we wolfed it down with a couple Asahi. Pork was ready to go. And the finished product with seasoned egg, drizzled with the aforementioned garlic oil1 point
