The process of buying, wearing, collecting, storing, selling, learning about and simply enjoying Nike Dunks.

The culture died out sometime in 2003, just as Jordan culture did in 2001. Insane hype on behalf or said perpetrators led to poor marketing and design ideas on behalf of Nike, effectively destroying the allure of a simple, elegant sneaker that needed no gimmicks or celebrity appeal to stand on it's own.

I would say the lack of brakes, combined with the lack of toe clips and/or straps is the most striking feature of the bike. I guess insane wipeouts make for good wear on denims.
