I've been looking at the contest pair for the Indigo contest (http://coffeendenim..../09/16/samurai/) and these look amazing. Would love to be part of a contest like this or with a re-release of a pair similar to the Black Knights with hidden arcs. (i'm a sucker for the hidden arcs)

Anyone have experience with Samurai S0500XX, which highlights its usage of Texas cotton? Their measurements are very appealing in my size, I was wondering how they fade and age, if they fade like the other samurais, and how much they shrink.

I was wondering the same thing! The vx denim looks like it would fade so ill. Plus those hidden arcs were brilliant. Levis can't say shit to that.

VX denim in the 710 cut is a limited edition thing only. I'd be in for a contest pair like the Indonesian ones or perhaps like the colored arcs they did a few years back, but I doubt it would go down without a shop sponsor.

^^ thank you. A little update after two days of wear. I like the fit a lot, rise is not as low as I feared (and this is the main deciding factor wether I like a cut or not). Also, the 21 oz denim seems to take and hold creases pretty well.

Not sure I understand the difficulty in producing sulfur 19oz denim, or what's so hard about using 21, 24 oz denim, in their "flagship" 710 cut... Just washed a pair of BLKSHWD's... Washed 17oz denim sucks!!!

I keep holding off from purchasing a pair of 710's because I have convinced myself that one day there will be a 24 oz 710, even if it is just a limited edition run/collab

I don't think that Samurai will do that. They are very thoughtful and conservative.

Besides, I wonder how hardcore the lives of those are, that demand 24 oz denim in a slim cut, like if 19 oz wouldn't be enough. But you have IH listening to your prayers for slim heavyweight cuts so go frolicking there.
