Tell me about it. I went to college in St. Louis, and the rent for the apartments in the city I was looking at after graduation were renting for about 1/3 of what my half of the rent is to live 20 miles outside of DC.

Thanks! The looser fit will take some getting used to, but I'm happy with how they look. I like to cuff, but right now I have to triple it up to get the right length, so I will probably hem a few inches eventually.

I hope you refer with looser fit only to the bottom half as the upper half looks just perfect and nowhere loose to me (or you wore sized down 3-4 APC before this pair )

Ok, so I've narrowed it down to the s5000vx but can't decide 17oz or 21oz in size 32(waist 34?). The 21oz measures up to what I'm looking for but can I get jiggy in them? Seems kinda rugged, gnar gnar. How much of a difference would the 4oz be? BTW I'm coming from the unbranded 34's.

The waist was a little less than 34 when raw and shrunk down to 32 after 2 warm soaks. After wearing they stretched out again to 34 (my waist size) pretty quickly. They aren't tight so there hasn't been much stretching in the rest of the leg.

An unconventional color that could be better pulled off with a more modern cut. If these were slim, they would totally fit in with the stylings of some of the world's hipper neighborhoods. As is, they just look odd.

I think you'll find slim is no longer as hip as it once was. The ever-changing cycle of fashion moves on...
