the correct translation is Void... Its based on the 5 rings 五輪書, the 5th book talks about "That which cannot be seen"... nothing to do with air (which is representated in the wind model)

the word on the left is the word for "air" instead of sky as an entity. one of the 5 elements. earth, fire, wind, water, air.

Of all the cuts that Samurai has come out with, in the end, the S510 cut is the most versatile (for me anyway). I can wear it sized up or down. Not so with the S5000 cut (of which I'm letting go of a size 33. Check my sig).

I can only hope that Samurai will come out with some special 510 jeans next season.

I was looking at the Samurai blog when I saw the picture off all the "book" together

I'm guessing void is on the far left looks like it might be a greyish blue weft. Since the boxes match the weft colors for the various elements.

Hoping the jeans to be a bit darker more like a coal color

Me too. I'm hoping it's almost black, if it's just a dark gray it will look a lot like the 5000AI-SP. Not that that's a bad thing at all, it'd just be nice to see something new for the Void model.

Before Samurai said what the "void" will be like, I thought it would be a black denim.

In my eyes charcoal is a rather dark shade of gray

VX denim has 17oz and maybe some differences in the weaving process and cotton blending

Samurai 710 after 10 months. I am rotating with a pair of FH 1001 at the same time though so real wear time is probably 6 months.

Agreed. I wouldn't want it to be a black jean, but a black weft would have been cool. A really dark charcoal gray would look good too, I think.

Yep, the final 'element' has nothing to do with air or sky. The most technically correct translation would be 'The Book of Emptiness'.

Had a miserable first skate session in my 710s. The crotch just exploded with no apparent reason. Just too much stress i guess. I got them repaired and back in rotaton but they won't get too much wear cause I'm going to concentrate on my newly arrived 0500s. Anyway these are at about 8 months now, three hot soaks and two washes.

What surprised me about the 0500s is that they don't feel nearly as slubby as my 710s. Still amazing material in both.

those are S5000VX AFAIK
