Correct me if i'm wrong @Geeman .. but the last time i dropped by this thread, i'm sure your second image down at the top of the previous page was in landscape, it had been in landscape for months, now it's in portrait? so not only are you having issues posting in the correct orientation, the forum is flipping your old images.

Something completely out of left field. Swung by the new Self Edge Austin location last weekend for their opening day and picked up a pair of Rick Owens sneakers.
If you would've asked me 5 years ago if I would wear Rick Owens I probably would've laughed at you.

What changed?

I think this design is a lot more understated and not flashy at all.
I used to exclusively think of Rick Owens from the goth-ninja perspective. Guys like this.

Now that the sun has finally started to break through the perma-cloud cover over London, I thought I'd throw away my old, worn-out green/orange Delphins and replace them with this orange/aqua pair. Hopefully they’ll put a spring in my step for Spring!

Very late to the party...

Didn't really got the info these Nike Killshot 2 became available outside of J Crew and would be available in Germany. They were even on sale.

they will replace my Veja soon, as those are pretty hammered. Also same colorway.

nice pair, these remind me of the trainers Tom York of Radiohead used to wear back in the mid 90s, guess they were Skechers...

feels like 90s Thom Yorke would have worn Nose.. anyone remember those?

I recall a written interview where he was described as having "stepped into a pair of small hovercraft"

now he wears a lot of Rick Owens so it's likely that he wears these sneakers too.

Finally trying a pair of these Sols sneakers, they're pretty nice!
They actually made a pair in size 29 cm. this time so I had to try them out (all previous models only went up to 28 cm.)
I think they're loosely inspired by Purcell's, there's 5 layers of rubber on the toe cap which is kind of impressive.

What’s their deal? Where did you purchase, etc.? Never heard of them, but I’ve been thinking for a few months now about re-entering a sneakers era

@julian-wolf I remember seeing them years ago from Inventory Magazine (RIP), at the time they almost exclusively offered chukka style sneakers.
Now it seems like they release one model every few months, I purchased these from Persica: https://store.persica.jp/en/products/vp128623-milk
And you can actually look at all their previous models on the Persica collection page: https://store.persica.jp/en/collections/sols

Not really sure about much info on the brand (they hardly advertise anything) but the quality feel in line with Asahi / Doek / Moonstar.
Honestly they are probably a private label manufactured by Moonstar.
The insole feels sturdy and actually has a little arch support which is rare for JP canvas shoes.
Just received them yesterday and wore them to work today for the first time, pretty comfy so far.
