Lovely leather patch. Its has that very leathery texture. Seems like it has potential to age nicely. Got some blue stains from post soak

slubby texture

Ha, I picked mine up on eBay as well, for about £25 IIRC.

Mine is a size small, but it hasn't had much wear so far, as it still feels a bit stiff and looks a tad boxy. But the quality and denim is really special IMO.

Will post a fit pic up maybe tomorrow if I have time. Thanks!

I suppose it would make sense if they were women's sizes, never thought about that :(

Mine is shorter than most of my tee shirts and not exactly generous either (I'm not v big, but by no means sufu-sized).

Would really like to get some wear out of it though, if I can solve the old 'what to wear with denim jackets' dilemma, the denim feels beautiful!

IronHeart is going to release a new Riders Jacket end of November - the 9527.

It is the same cut as the 527 and the 1527, but made out of 21oz Real Black Extra Heavy Denim.

I asked Giles from www.ironheart.co.uk about this, and he said that he is going to carry those - also taking preorders on his website!

Price is not fixed yet, but will include free shipping worldwide as usual, with three different price segments - UK, Europe and Worldwide.

Sizing is supposed to be same as 527 and 1527, but do not count on that!

Ask Giles or check the www.ironheart.jp website for updates on this ...

Also check with www.selfedge.com on this, as this cut is based on their best selling jeans jacket cut (according to CottonDuck).

Lets start that heavy denim porn!

Anyone got advice about how to best wear in a Lee Japan Cowboy jacket (37 model) I've had it for a good few months and worn it pretty regularly but due to the soft nature of the fabric (almost a jelt), there's an absence of creases and therefore an absence of any fades/whiskering on the sleeves etc - just a bit of grime on the collar from where my motorcycle helmet rubs against it.

Should I starch it to get it stiff again? any other tips/suggestions?

Cheers

Martin

i think it will still take some time.

i also have the 37 jacket sure true that the fabric is very soft, as most of the lee japans are. the thing with jackets is also that it takes much longer then with pants, cause we dont wash em that often and the wear is different. strange though that it does not have creases mine does when i wear it.

Brilliant thread guys! some great jackets here. Here are mine:

Evisu Deluxe Silk Denim, worn about a year almost every day and washed pretty often, with matching jeans (full Texas tux), to see what the differences in fadng between a jacket and jeans would be:

edit- after a year, the jeans are pretty much done, and I've moved on, but the jacket still has a lot of life in it!

'campari' brand jacket. never heard of them before, but i really like the name:D

this was my dad's jacket when he was a chemistry student in the late 60s. He told me the holes are from acid burns, I'm not sure if I believe him though:rolleyes: it's actually quite cheaply.badly made, but I really love that about it- see how the ends of the cuffs are just folded over, not tucked in like normal. the waistband ends are the same

Evisu Japan/Yamane Deluxe No2. I wore this over a couple of years before I got the silk denim one, but not all that often, so it's less faded. I think it's a great jacket though. It's had one or two machine washes.

Basically the same as crashtestbrummie's Type II I think, but with the flower embroideries:
