UES Denim

Didn’t know about the WW model—when did this come out??

Always wanted to try their jeans but was put off by the vanishingly low rises; am probably gonna have to give these a go

How’s their sizing, in general? Charts would seem to say I should go for my usual size?

The WW2 were released 3 years ago or so. I also like UES and looked at them quite often. The denim fades really nice and while I don't like coloured wefts, this slight brown tint is okay.

Size-wise they run a bit larger IMO. I had the 400T in size 34 and this was when I was at least 10 kg heavier. But yeah, I would probably get a 34 again :D

The WW fit would probably be great for you then. The rise is on the higher side. Size wise I normally wear a 32-33. I bought a 34 in these because it’s all they had at the store I was at and I really wanted them. Realistically the 33 would have been better but I’ll never have to worry about any shrinkage with this size now.

I've been living in my 400T since January. Just wore them on a two week trip, traveling all over Vietnam. Gave them their first wash when I got home the other day, so I'll post some pics soon.

Here's a friend who happened to be in Tokyo during my layover and I at Hinoya. I've got the 400T on, as well as the denim traveling shirt: VDkdyxI.jpeg

400T. 5 months of wear, 2 washes, first wash wasn't until after 3 months and felt necessary after 2 weeks of daily wear travelling throughout SE Asia. These get 3-4 days of wear per week at least, and were the only pair of jeans I wore from mid-January until maybe a month ago. Other than my Warehouse 800xx, these are the quickest fading pair I've worn, and the surprising amount of vertical fading is a nice addition. Excited to see how they'll look after I hit the 1-year mark.

400 fades looking nice in the sunlight, some roping/hem detail shots. I love how loosely they did the chainstitching on the hem,

^ Those are actually really appealing, and the measurements look a lot more reasonable than most of their jeans

I remember some folks here posting about the WW2 cut a bit after it came out. Who has them? What other companies’ jeans do the fit compare to?

Those look excellent. I see there's a matching jacket too.

Right! Was originally put on to the jeans because The Signet posted the jacket. Fabric looks great:

Just have no idea about the sizing! They let me know with gentle washing and air drying it'll shrink 1-1.5cm. Throw them in the drier, they'll shrink up to 4cm and might damage the fabric so air drying is advised.

The novelty of these is more tempting to me than it should be, but linen jeans is something I’ve wished for many times.

I also wouldn't be mad if people chimed in about how they found UES to fit. Sizing to me looks not on the small side for the jacket or the jeans.

Generally their jeans are pretty TTS. I went for 32 in my 400T, and the waist measured about 31.5" when new/one-wash. From the looks of it, their WW2 jeans are cut pretty generously.

I don't own any jackets from them, but the flannel and traveling shirt, both size 3, are pretty roomy as well compared to most other Japanese size L pieces I have from other brands.

I got these about 36 hours after the shipping notice was sent. In Michigan. From Japan.

I’m not much one for write ups or anything but I will say these are highly competitive with the fullcount super smooth denim for maybe the best breezy feeling summer jeans. Actually, they probably feel better. I sized up one - to a 31 -and I’m glad I did because the seat is slightly trim even if the waist isn’t. If I’d gone 30, I think they’d have fit more like my FW 51’s, which is fine, but for linen pants I wanted more of a roomy anti-fit. My 31 fits about the same, slightly trimmer leg - than my FC’s at 29. No clue how these things will fade but pants that feel like linen and look like jeans - I’m sold!

The jacket is nice too - but (and I knew this going in) is longer than a typical type 1 both in torso and in the arms. In a way I think this is more versatile, but maybe not what some people would want. I think it will wear nicely - it’s like a French worker’s jacket in cut with type 1 detailing and the drape of linen.

I’ll try to get pics up next week but I’m headed out of town today for a bit.

@julian-wolf30!

also, now that I’ve worn these for a few hours these things have got some drape. I might have to take back that assessment of the trim seat ha. I definitely could have gone 30, but I’m happy taking the loose path here. Also fwiw my other 0105 pairs are 30, I just find the super smooth to run large.

Some detail shots and a fit pic of the linen jeans. These things are so comfortable it almost feels wrong. Fabric has few, but significant neps. In general it’s a bit more irregular than the denim I’m used to wearing but nothing like those brands that make it a point. Looks like it was a bit tough to weave. Linen pocket bags are a nice touch. Worn about 4 days and like linen does the creases set quickly. Raised pocket seams are interesting. Happy with this pick up. Jacket pictures later, I don’t have it with me on this trip.

Nice @wmb. Which colors? I have the green polo and love it. You reminded me that I haven't worn it in a while. I should break it out.

I have the green also -- and a very deep purple...
