  10. In a quick attempt to be more useful attached are OA 01’s in a size 31. You can see the waist had to stretch as evidenced by the fly buckling outwards. I don’t mind this. It did stretch no problem. They are very comfortable. The cut is full enough that the waist was really the only point of concern. Now, a belt helps a bit but I don’t tend to wear one. I got the 03s in a 32 but have not washed them yet. I expect them to be a little loose throughout and the waist to feel about the same it will just need to stretch less. I can comfortably wear a 29 or a 30 from WH, FC, and sugar cane/mf. With those it comes down to the cut, not the waist. My WH 1003xx are a 29 but that is their fuller cut, for example. For slimmer cuts a 30 is usually better just for seat/thigh room - not the waist per se.

  11. Been rationalising; sent the SDA that I use for working aroubd the house off to the charity shop, and Lady T has fixed up my Riders. Off do to some sawing and routing, in traditional stylee. These are the second Euro repro, somewhere here I mention where the fabric's made (Nisshinbo?), first lot was made in Ireland, these are made in Malta.

  14. SC is almost in all types true to size. Just 1947 are in waist little bit snug, so many people buy them 1 size bigger... I think sizing of SC is same as Warehouse

  15. @MJF9 man I wish I had grabbed those. so is the consensus with OOE to order two sizes up? So if I’m a 33 I need a 35?

  18. Tempo Design Store - Mastermade Goods | Est. 2017 Rue du Midi 11 Lausanne, Switzerland TempoDesignStore.com Women & Men: @TempoMastermadeGoods Home: @TempoDesignStore Monocle Magazine: Setting up shop in the Swiss Alps in November was a culmination of the travels of business partners Pablo de Pinho and Ana Deffarges (writes Claudia Jacob). The co-founders of Lausanne’s Tempo concept shop unearthed an affinity for craft culture while travelling around Brazil, Tokyo, California and Montréal, before putting down roots in the Helvetic city. “It’s rare to find lifestyle shops in Switzerland,” says De Pinho. “After getting so much inspiration living and studying across three continents, we knew that Lausanne was missing something.” The result is a selection of tasteful design objects from across the world, featuring items from furniture ateliers such as Bangalore’s Phantom Hands and Copenhagen-based Frama. There are also luxurious leather goods from Tokyo’s Hender Scheme and Taiwan’s Kamaro’an, as well as garments from Galicia’s Lichen Goods. Tempo sits at the foot of the mountains overlooking Lake Geneva and its ethos of slow living is effortless to embrace. tempodesignstore.com -> List of Brands & Designers

  19. The little satchel / purse from a few years ago remains one of my all-time favorite items of any category (likely above most of my clothes and boots, even); it’s with me all the time Had to do a first round of repairs, recently. Some holes were forming around the bottom so I patched it up with some of the canvas leftover from hemming my older pair of Roy’s Foreman pants There was some really nice lighting today so I took a few photos. I love how many different colors are present in different areas of the bag from different sorts of wear (sun, abrasion, indigo crocking…)

  21. Two sizes up will fit great with some stretch. If I was going to get another pair, I would go up three sizes because I prefer my jeans a little loose. I have a 33 and it's a "perfect" fit meaning I can break it in and wear it without a belt after stretch. I prefer the feeling of a waist and thigh that don't require stretch and just fit comfy right out of the wash. I also prefer an 8.75" LO minimum. For that I would go up three sizes to a 34 rather than the 33 I own.

  22. I’ve gone TTS (32), 1 size up (33) and 2 sizes up (34) between ~5 different pairs and the 2 sizes up has definitely been the best fitting, but has also been my favorite cut - the recent SOA03XXD-0823. To be a bit more clear, my waist measures @ 32”

  23. Depends on the fit you want. Ooe usually measures a touch below tag size raw (of course this also depends on how you measure) and shrinks from there (quite a lot). Of course it will stretch back out a good amount. Other brands (like FW) is bigger than the tagged waist and shrinks to the tagged size (or slightly below)

  24. Ooe tags run 1.5-2 sizes smaller than your normal Japanese brand. YMMV but I find SC fairly true to size.

  25. Thanks man. I am going to attempt to maintain these as much as poss, because they just surpass all other pairs for me at the moment. I am just getting some time into 2 x new pairs (Denime 220A and WH 1000XX DSB) so they're getting a break as I chase the same level of fit and comfort elsewhere. I may end up buying another pair of these and hemming them and just keeping ready for future.

  31. Nicked these pics from lg - looks like a late 1941/early 1942 model 501XX. The model just before the forthcoming Freewheelers 1942 repro (last cinch model 501xx before the simplified S501xx) Has the flipped yoke, left over right panels and a black buckle. Beautiful pale yellow almost white stitching after years of wash and wear.

  32. Update on Libra Pondus (LB 40s) after one week. It so happened that I received the latest Ooe-Yofukuten's, Sugar Cane 1946 and LB in a short period of a few weeks. Comparisons are begging to be made. Three very good products, each with its own exciting features, I like each. Nevertheless, if I had to keep one jean only out of the three, it would be the LB. I just fell in love with them, I like literally everything about them. Also a very simple and true indicator. Of the three items mentioned, I wear LB most often. Almost every day with very few exceptions.

  34. Progress on my DD-1001XX 1947. Just an unbelievably good fit and feel on these, soon to be unseated by the DSB 1000XX possibly but these are very special, and only getting better. Unsurprisingly, in need of a preventative crotch stitch repair, but they’re looking great I think!

  39. SOA03XXD-0823 pre-ordered from Barnstormer at the end of October 2023. The parcel eventually arrived, at the end of March. The jeans look a little different to the previous OA models. Waiting for the rainy weather to end so I can soak them and dry on the yard. Will probably wash at low temperature after that, the look and feel is tough.

  41. Denime made by Warehouse Stock picture Size 34x32 Raw measurements Waist: 35" Front rise: 13.5" Back rise: 17.75" Thighs: 13.25" Knee: 10" Leg opening: 9" Inseam: 35.25" The constructional thread is mainly orange throughout the jeans. Yellow thread is used on the inseam and the coin pocket. Back view Slanted belt loop, typical detail for Denime XX The back pockets are closer together (as the hips are straighter on these) Coin Pocket Widest coin pocket of all types and different sewing method applied (no triangles) Back pocket Biggest back pocket of all types, The red tab is smaller. Triangle stitch is there Leather patch Different and thicker leather is used, typical Denime way of stitching the leath patch is applied Fly construction Unlike older Denime are sewn at the bottom, here the stitching is almost parallel. V-stitch Quite thick chainstitch, the V-stitch is steep and ends before the button. Top button The buttons are more dull, the background of the lettering is plain Belt loops Slightly raised, orange thread. Similar to Orizzonti and Shins (bartack closer to Wego) Hidden rivet Hidden rivet is less rounded/dome shaped. Like an all rivets it reads WH instead of YH. Light grey bartack is used. Selvedge The selvedge thread is paler (maybe caused by washing). The selvedhe line is wider than Wego but still on the narrow side. Change of the twill direction is there. Front pockets No selvedge line but could be selvede. No print or stamp

  42. When l bought my first pair of 1930 Lee 101's, l had no idea what to expect with shrinkage as it was a newly released model. This would've been 2008 and although l was a only a lurker here, there was still no info on them and l didn't know they were sanforized. So I ordered a sz 32 which were massive so l chucked them in the wash and no shrinkage. Waist size was doable with the cinch so l got my Mum to home hem them (again before l knew about chainstitched hemming services if there was such a thing back then). In frustration l gave them a boil wash. The result was a high waisted loose fit jean, lighter blue denim and a slightly highwater hem. The new pair are a sz 30 (measured 34) and are a closer fit. They are now my replacement garden/yard jeans. These had a soak originally after l bought them back in 2016 and have only been worn for a few months before l gained a bit of weight. Took them to be shortened and hemmed at Soas after purchase, giving them a yellow thread to match the belt loop bartacking. Especially love the patch - "copper riveted cowboy overalls "
