  3. I heard back from Ryo at TCB. Looks like they have a model in mind and are aiming for the summer! Relevant email bits from Ryo: Also many thanks for your suggestions! I will discuss it with Hajime but we actually have some new model in mind to do a fade contest with in our mind, which many vintage jeans lovers would love for sure. We aim to release it in this summer...The release date might be delayed or get earlier but we would like to hold a fade contest for sure with the new model! Sorry to potentially cut any discussion in this thread short, but I'm also hopeful the new model will be roomy!

  4. Okay, last time I’ll spam this thread until these get some significant wear. I did a second wash and got a touch more shrink as hoped for: Waist: 17" / 43 cm Front rise: 13" / 33 cm Rear rise: 16.5" / 42 cm Hip (7.5 cm up from crotch seam): 22.5" / 57 cm Thigh: 12.5" / 31.5 cm Mid-thigh (10 cm below crotch seam): 11.25" / 28 cm Knee (34 cm below crotch seam): 9.25" / 23.5 cm Hem: 8.5" / 22 cm Inseam: 33.75" / 85.5 cm Final pics: I’m a sucker for good leg twist: And a couple of not great fit pics: Parting shot:

  5. As promised: I've since jumped in head-first and did this: I think the fit is pretty good and I'm happy with it, and I'm stoked to start to work these into the rotation.

  9. No mystery. The reason is that by 1980, for most vintage denim enthusiasts, the denim and details on vintage examples (which are then repro'd) are pretty much 'meh'. And the lvc version is a good example of why: bland and boring at best.

  12. Hear me out. 90’s. That’s the only contest I’m in for.

  16. I messaged Ryo abt a year ago on Instagram and they said that sadly they were not interested in doing an 80s redline repro. It’s a mystery to me though why almost no brands repro this model, only the LVC version comes to mind.

  17. Thanks. Yes, slightly low but really not that much. I just have really short legs for my height. 6’2” and a 30” inseam.

  18. How about a repro of Sugarcanes MP-597?

  19. ^ b-F, looks like the 1943 has the same waist as the 1946, but a higher rise (especially in front) and more room just about everywhere else, except the waist.

  21. To be honest I’m generally not one for contests (never did one), but I’ll follow along to see what’s come up with. So, maybe.

  22. The 50’s cut is really the only cut that appeals to me. I thought the last contest jeans were cool but that front rise is kind of comically long. Would be cool to do the 50’s cut with like the 30’s denim or even the 60’s.

  23. My ridiculous username should be the giveaway here. Though, between Tender 132’s and Fullcount 0105’s I’m quite happy these days when I want to scratch that itch. They’re different, but both a little better suited to a middle aged man than some original Droors Stencil jeans. But I’d still love to see a TCB interpretation of this - it would be nicer because in the 90’s the mass market jeans pretty much sucked by then - you don’t want to directly reproduce that - so to make a 90’s cut with the maybe a good denim and repro details that TCB does. The cut couldn’t be too full though - I never went too far in the 90s and wouldn’t want to now.

  24. Left S601XX Right 601XX 1947 Top: FW pocket tee. Size XXL adjust shape from square to human again. The guy hemming my 47s made a mistake and cut two inches off instead of 2cm. Tried to save them by going for a really thin cuff. Should’ve just worn them uncuffed in hindsight. I feel they’re just a bit too short. Great cut. Will get again in future.

  25. Here are the numbers on my size 34: Pre-wash: Waist: 18" / 46 cm Front rise: 13.5" / 34 cm Rear rise: 17.75" / 45 cm Hip (7.5 cm up from crotch seam): 24" / 61 cm Thigh: 13.5" / 34 cm Mid-thigh (10 cm below crotch seam): 11.75" / 30 cm Knee (34 cm below crotch seam): 10" / 25 cm Hem: 9.25" / 23.5 cm Inseam: 35.5 in / 90 cm Post-wash (40 °C, delicate cycle, no spin, no detergent, sun-dried outside) Waist: 17.5" / 44 cm Front rise: 13" / 33 cm Rear rise: 17" / 43 cm Hip (7.5 cm up from crotch seam): 23" / 58.5 cm Thigh: 12.75" / 32.5 cm Mid-thigh (10 cm below crotch seam): 11.25" / 28.5 cm Knee (34 cm below crotch seam): 9.5" / 24 cm Hem: 8.75" / 22.5 cm Inseam: 34.5" / 87 cm They shrank about 4% in most dimensions, which is less than I anticipated. However, they fit pretty well right now so I'll probably wear them as is for the time being. I feel sure they will shrink more in subsequent washes, particularly the inseam. Here are a few more pics for fun. Fit shot will have to wait till tomorrow when I have my tripod.

  33. Bears were fine marking down for me. The tyrants at DHL held my parcel though until I could prove they were bought at the marked value. Bears really tried to help out by scanning and emailing me a till receipt that was all in Japanese to provide 'proof ' Then DHL contacted Bears and Bears communicated back and forth with me and them until it was sorted. Top guys. After all the back and forth we begrudgingly declared full value and DHL released the package without any charges anyway 🤔
