  5. Happy new year everyone! as i've mentioned to a couple of folks here already, i'm going to be moving back to south america later this year, either heading down thru mexico & central america by motorcycle or flying to venezuela to visit family & making my way around from there. hoping to do some more writing work in the amazon & some photojournalism while travelling, which i'll be sure to share here. anyway, planning for this has got me thinking a lot about what jeans i'd want to bring along... probably only 1 pair, sadly... my heart calls me either to some tender 132s or the tcb good luck jeans, tho i worry about fabric weight being an issue with both. might just go with some okinawas from @roomtemplacroix's collection. but today i have my trusty old cane's on, am gonna give em a wash n patch both knees again, lol. here's to a lovely & restful start to the year for all!

  12. And a first, quick fit pic. These changed their texture A LOT in the initial soak+wash. They became quite neppy and slubby. The rivets don't bother me anymore so I'll leave them.

  15. Starting the year with IH slubby denim, here in the 1955 cut they produced exclusively (AFAIK) for The Shop Vancouver. Lovely fabric.

  16. Been wearing my old SC47's with arcs for the last few weeks. Got a pair of nwot valencia 201's on ice waiting for a buckle upgrade. Gonna wear em raw for a while as l love the denim in that state. Got one pair of Conners waiting to go to London to be hemmed at Soas and the other in Mrs_Heech's sewing pile waiting for a crotch repair. Not a blow out, just some top stitching. Just enjoying all the wonderful pairs that l'm lucky enough to own/wear with no plans to buy any new denim in the foreseeable future. Happy new year everyone!

  17. My Rancourt Byron boots in Black Essex from their summer pre-saw finally arrived. Despite the wait I’m happy with them and the value at the pre-sale price feels reasonable. Feels like they will pair well with my TCB 50s and WW2 chinos

  18. Happy New Year’s to everyone. I’m in my Samurai S3000vx, I’m aiming to wear these during winter on days when I’m wearing an untucked shirt, and my TFH 3005s on other days and mix in my TFH hickory stripe pants once a week or so.

  21. 47s have always been issued non-wash (not raw 🤨) and wash 34 length in non-wash only (I’ll need to check the catalogues tho’ to be 100%) 32 length in both non-wash and wash … and rarely 30 length wash which mostly came under youth sizing

  22. Not mine, just wanted to share this faded pair I came across on Grailed, here’s a link if interested… no affiliation just passing along a nice fade…

  25. Happy new year all. I’m in my tender 129s, which are sufficiently beat in and I have a pair of 132 Achilles Heel on the way. I’ve waited a few years to settle on a roomier pair of my favorite denim and decided to go with the originals. It will be interesting to see how the indigo overdye compares to the woad overdye after some years of wear.

  38. 1937 photo dump. Really love how this denim has aged. Also interesting to see how the rivets patina in the areas they encounter sweat a lot.

  39. My wife and I visited Japan recently and made our way to Hoosiers while in Kyoto. Those who have purchased items from Seiichiro in the past already know this, but he and his apprentice, Hinata, are absolute gems of human beings. They went above and beyond to welcome us to the store and get me fitted for some Freewheelers denim. It was cool to hear stories about the Japanese denim world from someone with insider knowledge. Plus, Seiichiro and Hinata are a great hang. Best dudes. One of the highlights of our trip. I highly recommend a visit when you're in Kyoto.

  44. I got some small rips in the crotch after a little over a year of wear and took some photos of them next to a new pair. No matter how many times I’ve seen jeans age, it’s always cool to see how much it changes.

  45. i picked up the encinitas last week. i fit the size 29 pretty easily, but opted to size up to 30 since i’m unfamiliar with how stevenson denim shrinks over it’s lifecycle. overall i’m really happy with the fit, and the denim itself has nice character. i’m currently moving so they’re getting the sweaty and dirty break-in treatment.
