@Double 0 Soul Can't remember when we were having the conversation about clothes racks, particularly jeans storage? Think it was just after @beautiful_FrEaK did a show and tell on his wooden jeans rack some time back. You (Neal) made a quip about my homemade effort being a couple of runner bean canes and some string 🤣 Anyhow, l could go on about how l actually would do a half decent job if l so wished to make one (l have some skills) but l am in fact quite a bit of a lazy bastard, so instead here is my effort for now. It took no time at all to make: Simply go to any UK store on its last day of business - l went to Wilkos and bought a clothes rail for 17 quid ( l got 2, one also for Mrs_Heech) and then over to M & Co for some free hangers (well they would have ended up in landfill knowing how contractors work). Made some adjustments to the rail to make it more bespoke by cutting the length of the legs. Might add a couple of jackets 🤔 but otherwise Job done 😁.14 points

Bathroom is at a standstill while we figure out what we're doing about the floor. Have ideas for new tile, but gotta pick a contractor. So in the meantime I started working on patching the water damaged plaster on the ceiling of what will become our master bedroom. Cut along the joists with the sawzall yesterday. That was messy as hell. Then today I sistered some studs to the joists and hung drywall. Only reason I used the mold resistant boards is cos I had a sheet leftover from the bathroom. Then I went for a bike ride with my girl and found a pump track a mile down the road from our house. My parents will be pleased that this means I will be getting my dirt jump bike out of thir basement sooner rather than later.2 points

The kids were doing some 'Escape Room' thing this morning so we had an attic full of teenagers last night.. I was too tired to go to work. Got up and yawned.. then yawned again. Then i Pepsi Challenged some nut butter ..and headed out to the Peaks ..tried to find a route from Padley Gorge through the woods.. ..to Nether Padley ..but it was more of a push and carry over rocks than a rideable trail so i bagged it off and rode up to White Edge ..all the way to the trig point ..nailing it through the Devils Elbow on the way home ..i got barged out of the way by a herd of cows... cows eh? 4hrs later... I stuck the headphones on and walked to Abbeydale road, it's Pakistani mango season.. i nearly hooked up with @MJF9 here once upon a time Tagging is a middle class affair in S11 through the park Feeding the ducks ..along Sharrow Vale Road ..restored garden furniture at Gilberts junk emporium ..kept walking ..past Kenwood Road ..and down to London Road wearing Supreme work shorts, Blue Lug t-shirt and Odd Future Vans. If you were going on Springer in the 90s you'd need a couple of hair pieces "Jerry, Jerry, Jerry" Drooooool! ..and home2 points

Yes, bad experience. The left sleeve was slightly twisted…strange. Mustn‘t be the case on a 300€ jacket. Sad that Lee is in such a bad constitution. Concerning FOB the jackets are here in the 280-300€ pricerange, similar to other japanese brands. I‘ve found the type 3 jacket (not so wild about an 1:1 repro, as long as it‘s made by hand from good selvage denim) on sale at cultizm, can‘t wait to get it.1 point

Nothing to get excited about but am watching these Nos Levis 1501 0117 double lock-stitch redlines in a size 35 x 38 on greedbay. The reason l'm watching them, being l'm always trying to 'revaluate' my own pair, which are almost identical but made in 1978. The reason for sharing though is that I've always wondered when the switch between the wash tag stating 8% shrinkage and 10% shrinkage, and l can conclude that it seems from the 1981 model 501 onwards, the 10% label was the norm. Obviously there are anomalies etc but this is not in anyway conclusive as levis labels don't always match garments plus the newer, wider looms that Cone had in to replace the older ones were switched around the early 80s. So maybe that's significant? Fyi These were made at one of the 3 San Fran factories in June of 1980. Anyway enough ramblings. Some photos.. [Edit] Scrap that! Found a 1980 made one with 10% shrinkage label. So l'm guessing the change started (throughout all of the factories?) in 1980 and then implemented when the 1981 flasher was introduced.1 point

^ Just my opinion, but I don’t think so. I believe it simply depends on the setting of the individual operator’s hemming machine.1 point

I don't know if this is a hot take or not, but out of all the one/two-person brands I know of, I'd take Ande Whall, especially from before the earthquake or whatever destroyed his original workshop and he made jeans with hidden rivets and stuff. Ande's jeans were affordable and not $700, he actually made and delivered what you ordered, didn't sue you for putting pictures of his jeans in a book, had a unique design of his own instead of trying to be 1000% accurate repro of this one deadstock pair made for two weeks in May 1943, and was totally in control of his own thing instead of having a single retailer in charge of distribution that would hype his pants to the moon and back. That's a combination of factors that to me at least, is hard to beat. The denim community really did lose a real one with Ande.1 point

@ATWM this is the 1922 506xx you're referring to, correct? The rivets were hammered down by FW on this model.1 point

The jacket arrived today. It‘s a cool one, nice fabric from japan. It‘s not that good finished, but all in all okay. It runs big, close to one size larger, nevertheless wearable. Unfortunately the tag says „no wash“…dunno why. My plan was a hot soak to shrink it a bit. What do you think: soak it nevertheless?1 point

Most of their tees are a bit much. Especially the Harley tee with put something exciting between your legs and the last poke saloon. I get they’re based on old stuff but just not things I’d ever feel comfortable wearing in public especially with my wife and kids.1 point

Police? Ah c'mon now. Are we so soft that dissenting opinions of items is that now? I miss the internet of 2005! I'll revert back to my universal approval of everything or keeping quiet so as not to perturb the gentle sensibilities of the board now 😃1 point

0105 after 18 months of regular wear. Pretty satisfied with these but unlikely to consider another pair due to the excessive back rise (you can see some fade lines on the yoke due to the sag). Something I pay more attention to now... still, they are the most comfortable jeans I've owned and a super versatile cut overall. Plenty of missing threads and some heavy wear on the cuffs. Not sure what size these are as the patch had a 33 but the inner tag has a 32 – anyone else have this on their pair? Peek-a-boo:1 point
