  3. My Iron Hearts and I went to the apple orchard/pumpkin farm with my grandsons. Had a great day. At the end of the day number 1 was a bit worn out and number 2 was still ready to go.

  9. 11 inch minimum? I'd say anything under 13 is unacceptable.

  10. Nope, the shipping is 3000¥ flat on top. They ask 10% over the domestic price. So basically as if they wouldn't deduct the VAT. I asked them about it.

  11. Finally getting some wear in on the 03s. Only about 10 wears in so not much fading. Considering hemming again so I don’t have to double cuff after the first wash.

  13. Yesterday my girlfriend and I went to a vintage market and I snagged some great pieces. Everything but the baseball tee and the Jeff Gordon tee were from the same vendor and he cut me a deal that made my day. Been wanting a varsity jacket for a while now so that was a good find. Then back at her apartment I cooked some lions mane mushrooms to make tacos. Never cooked these before but had them once or twice. It's impressive how well you can make them taste and feel like meat (at least from what I can remember). They were fun to cook too. Today she and I went for a bike ride along the Ohio Erie canal towpath. It's nearing the end of September and it's still mid 80s here in Ohio, and I'm over it. I want to wear jackets already.

  21. I bought the 1946 model (a bit late, lol). I was lucky to find a pair in my size at Göteborg Manufaktur. Thanks @Beau_FrEaK for the advice. The fit is perfect for me. The fabric is really beautiful, and the level of detail is impressive. I can't wait to wear it, but I'll have to get the length altered.

  23. A bit late here, I haven't worn these in quite some time (which is evident from the fold creases). Not sure why I stopped wearing them honestly.

  24. Because @beautiful_FrEaK has decided not to buy any new jeans, I decided to pick up the slack. I got myself some S710XX-BK this weekend...Nice to have some proper black denim in rotation.

  25. @Double 0 Soul I was in Hope last November for a weekend hiking with my mates from school. It’s a great spot. We went to the Cheshire Cheese for dinner and Beers. Lovely open fires that time of year. Good ales too. Very nice. Going back this November.

  28. I always liked the way Brando wore this brand new 101j too. Huge shoulder.

  29. Good warning and also true to how the vintage jacket fits. Always been a tricky jacket to size because of the strong taper. Usually worn open, bottom unbuttoned, or big drop shoulder. TCB's repro is somewhat elongated, which makes this taper even more noticeable. Here's mcqueen squeezing into one. Looks uncomfortable. But looks cool here with it open

  31. I've worn a different pair every day this week... and that's the recent pattern... will be seeing if I can focus efforts a bit more!!

  32. I'm mostly wearing a pair of 01's (4-5 days a week, while other days are in a random assortment of more worn things). They're fading a little bit, but honestly probably don't have more than 4-5 months total wear yet. But I hope they're in a good place by the time we get going. My WW2 pair, and my Holk (02 cut) are still in the plastic bags!

  33. I'm at a point where I'd love to break in a new pair (from storage), but I really don't need to. It's a good exercise in staying with everything currently in my closet. My OA's are feeling frustratingly slow right now! It's a little challenge to see just how good they can get in the last 3 months or whatnot.

  34. @MJF9 No, that was my backyard and I was wearing another pair. We had gone over 30 days without rain here and we finally had an overcast day, so I decided to take some pics. I couldn't have that dog off leash in an open area...one rabbit or squirrel and she'd be gone forever.

  36. @fresh1 looking good... though the pic raises too many questions ... is that the local park? What were you wearing when you took the picture? Did they call the police?

  37. Lvc 1937 at the bottom, Csf 1941 in the middle and FW42's at the top. Both the repro 37 and 42 models have the standard yoke set up, whereas the pair in the middle do not. The standard yoke set up is what we are used to seeing on 501's made from August 1942 up until the present day which sees the bottom panels overlap the top ones, like on the lvc 37's and FW42's shown. The non-standard yoke set up is the csf 1941 pair in the middle. It sees the top panels overlapping the lower ones, a feature which just about 99% of the denim pants manufacturers used in their jeans construction at the time, only levis waited until c.1940 to do it, then flipped it back c.April 1942. Hopefully cleared all that up now 🙃

  40. Small detail observed in Clutchman's video, with the comparison of the 1946 SG model (on the left) and the 1946 501 (on the right): the stitching of the belt loop is sewn into the pocket bag on the 501, whereas in SG's reproduction, it is not sewn into the pocket bag. 🧐

  46. Some pictures after applying Fiebing's Brown Edge Dressing. Looks so much better in my opinion, not really a fan of natural edges. Also swapped out the laces for the waxed laces (also included), though forgot to snap some photos. I'm certainly no boots expert. But I've worn White's, Wesco, Alden, etc. over the last 20 years. Never really had an eye for Red Wing. I appreciated the history, but didn't quite understand their use case since my PNW boots were much more robust, and my Alden's more dressier. All these years later, I find PNW boots too clunky and heavy, and my Alden's not robust enough. Suddenly Red Wing made perfect sense, and prices haven't really skyrocketed luckily. Some complain that these new Beckman's don't have the Japan version flatbox toe of yore (which I would've preferred), or that the heel should be stacked leather for the price. But for the price, I think these represent a perfect midway boot that looks dressy enough, and still robust enough without being cumbersome or hard on my geriatric knees. Looking forward to putting the miles in!
