i don't have skulls, nor do i ever plan to buy any. the whole cross-thing turns me off...but i am known to search all avenues to find denim-porn! im going to have to find a supplementary denim-forum, sufu isn't enough sometimes. any suggestions?

you're missing out on some great jeans. all you need is a seam picker to remove the cross.

What size should I go for in the Skull 5010xx? I have a pair of Flat Head BSP's in a 36. That's about the only raw jean I've had. doesn anybody have fit pics of a size 34-36?

Measure the waist on your FH BSP's, and check the 5010xx size charts for the size that has the closest measurement.

size 34 5010xx 6x6:

Are they tight in the leg at all? they don't look it, which was what I was looking for.

Do these end up shrinking much in the inseam? I think I want them to be a 32 after washing so I should get them hemmed to where?

setting a good example that you don't size down 5010xx's to get a slim fit. people are always asking about size advice in this thread, just get them true to size.

its more of a slim cut, not a tight/skinny fit, especially for a sz 34. im a true 33 waist so this sz 34 is a little sized up and i use a belt. plus they've been worn for 2 years so they're a little stretched/slouched. i have a size 33 (one-wash) that is slimmer down the leg. i think the inseam shrinks to about 35-36. i had mine hemmed to 32" after washing too

thank you for your reply.

the water temperature and abrasion is the same as the home machines.

but the dryer is heavy duty industrial machine.

we hope you find it informative.

So the dryer is industrial but that's not a big deal unless they leave them in there to cook. Same formula as using your home dryer, just take them out before they overdry.

Just got my 5010xx's in the mail from Self Edge, and these things are TIGHT...like one degree from painted on. I can JUST get the waist buttoned up.

How much can I honestly expect these to stretch out if I wear them a bit?

I tried to go true to size. My waist is somewhere around a 34 - no bigger. I bought a size 33 seeing as how the size chart said a 33 measured 34 inches in the waist.

Should I keep these or send them back for a size 34?

Thanks guys.

Knee-down I'm totally fine with. It's the waist and thigh area that is the biggest concern for me.

If the waist and thighs will stretch not a ton, but substantially then I'll probably keep these. If the stretching in these areas was going to be quite minimal then I'd probably size up one.

i know i've asked quite a few questions in here, but just bear with me please

if i could only button up to the 3rd button in a size 27 5010xx (with some struggle), should i size up to a 28 or a 29? typically how much do they stretch?

the only reference i have to my size are my raw cheap mondays (i know, i know) that are a size 30 and measure 30 inches in the waist which is a little snug but still comfortable for everyday wear

i'd think a 28 would be fine if they stretch and inch, and they'd be too small if they stretched much less, but a 29 might be too big if they stretch that much

thanks for the help

keep. they will stretch and not shrink at all.

that is why i bought a new pair. i have a 36 (tagged) and my waist fits very tight/snug into any 36 (measured). as the skull 5010xx runs 1" above tagged size - after some wear it is quite loose. (still lovely, but sagging all the time)

so I opted for another one in tagged 35", and boom there is the perfect fit.

so, expect it to stretch to 35" at least!

If 30 is "a little snug" sizing down to 28 will make him a sad cowboy. Go 29 or 30. The waist has got to be the least critical part of the fit, get the size that gives you a good fit in the legs and crotch and buy a damn belt.

Exactly, you can afford to go a little loose in the waist if it gives you a better fit everywhere else. A belt is a fairly easy fix, better than having jawnz that are too tight from the thigh down.

raw shea butter (massaged in well) will keep it from completely shriveling up like bacon, but it wont help whatever is printed on the leather. but some brands patches remain legible longer than others...
