does the 6x6 stretch much? im looking to get the 5507cut and based on the hem and thigh measurements on the fabfour site, i should be getting a 33 but my waist is a 17.5", which means waist wise i should get the 34 but the hem/thigh on the 34 is too big. if i get the 33 will these stretch or should i consider going down even more (32) to get the 33 fit with the 34 waist?

it's probably wiser to choose a size based on your waist size, and finding a cut that provides the thigh/hem that you want. Why don't you get the 5010xx instead? Sounds like that cut in your true waist size would have the thigh and hem measurements you want.

yea i considered getting the 5010, but the hip is larger in the 5010 than in the 5507. my favorite jeans' has a 55cm hip measurement with a 88cm waist, while the waist on the 5010's 87.5cm is 61.5cm...

You should give it a go man, no two pairs of jeans fit alike, perhaps you'll like the new look.

I try to buy different cuts everytime, because who knows, you might like it.

2cents.

i am emailing with yuichi-san of pirates and even though the fabfour site says the 5507 is slimmer, yuichi-san says that 5010 is slimmer. weird. anyway, i am on the fence between one wash or raw. i am thinking of going one-wash because it eliminates the shrinkage. do you guys think i should always choose raw? does the 6x6 one-wash stretch/shrink much? do i size down?

Don't know where you got the fabfour misinfo from exactly, but 5010 is MUCH slimmer than 5507.

Go raw, Skulls don't shrink that much, and will stretch back to at least the measurements they had when you bought em.

Every pair of one-wash everything I've seen/owned never live up to the equivalents raw denim.

yes you are right, i must stop browsing the internet while half awake. anyway, i will get the 5010 and go raw.

i read somewhere on the thread that i should size down when purchasing if i want a slimmer fit. my waist is a 34" (tagged size in skulls would be 32) but am considering getting the tagged size 31 to get the thighs of the 31. in your experience, will the waist stretch around a half inch?

Yeah, water from Japan FUCKS UP your jawns but water from America is a-okay.

There is a little more involved in the "one-wash" process than the name would imply. Read.

Skulls run larger than tagged size and (in my experience) can stretch up to 1.5" in the waist.

^Another one of the internet's little miracles...

Get your jeans hemmed pre-soak you gypsy minge pustule. I almost want to rep you for your attempted use of sarcasm. It was extremely witty and original. Oh how I chortled.

One-wash isn't all about the indigo loss. It is generally a multiple wash/ tumble dry cycle that changes the way the denim ages, you. If you had ever owned more than one pair of denim (for direct comparison between raw and one-wash) you'd have a clue what the fuck you were talking about.

The hems on my PBJs are roping like mad at some points at not much at all at others. Is this standard or should I wash them more? currently just past two months, one wash since i had them hemmed.

ZOMG ROPING!!!!111!!!

Go back to lurking the APC thread or do your part for philanthropy and slip into a coma.

Maybe I've been drinking too much Guinness tonight, but are you saying your true waist is 34 and you are thinking about getting 31" 5010??? IMO that would be a big mistake if you have thighs and balls. If you are true 34 , then you could size down to 33. I sized down 1" on each pair I have...definitely wouldn't want to go more than that.

I have a pair of one wash and a pair of raws. The raws are very stiff to begin with, which is a challenge I like, but they're both fine

Yeah that sounded funny to me too. My true waist is a 31 and I got the tagged size 31 5010. They fit pretty tight...I had bruises on my hips for a couple weeks, he MIGHT be able to size down to a 32, but with a true 34 waist he's not gonna fit into a 31, no way

One-wash can produce great fading and aging, they can even turn out better than a pair that was originally worn raw. It all depends simply on how the jeans are worn, and what you define as "good" fading.

For the record, I do own both a pair of 5010 6x6 that was originally raw and a pair that I got one-wash. Honestly, in the long run, with constant wear and care (washing), you probably wouldn't be able to tell which one was originally raw and which one was originally OW. I would have to disagree with the statement about how OW "changes how the denim ages"- the main thing that does are the conditions under which the jeans are worn.

The indigo loss of OW is not significant, they are still really dark and allows for plenty of great fading. OW gets all the shrinkage out of the way and eliminates all the starch-iness of the denim, which makes them a lot more comfortable imo.

one wash wont do shit to the denims fading ability, if you buy raw you should at least soak first anyway(although a wash first is better). don't be afraid of OW jeans. i just always insist on raw so i can control the pre-wear wash/soak conditions.

Dear ****-san,

thank you for your inquiry.

About the one-wash

one-wash means RAW was just washed with washing machine and tumble dried once :)

we hope you find it informative.

What the fuck?

About the O/W versus raw, keep in mind that different companies have different o/w processes. My Denime Kyoto is a o/w and was severely brutalized during the o/w process, with ugly spots of indigo bleeding on the weft and inverted creases all down the legs that are still there after 2 months of light wear (on days off) and 2 soaks/handwashes. 45rpm for example seems to be a lot gentler, judging from the o/w sorahikos I tried on a couple months ago.

I don't know about Skulls' o/w process. I'd prefer to get mine raw as well so I can control the washing.

MyNudies. But you can't say "pussy" or "fuck" there. And most people there that have moved on from nudies are active here already anyways.
