My WW2 pair is raw and stored away, so I can’t comment on worn. They’re essentially the same (xx4) denim - on the most recent models - Ooe has made previous pairs with earlier iterations of denim. The WW2 pair’s was a little more flawed in production if I recall them saying, I can’t recall the specific differences. Maybe someone else can recall - it had a slightly greyer cast and maybe a little bit of irregularity? They’re both overall pretty smooth, uniform, tightly woven classic denim and very similar.

I think they're going to make some late 1800's inspired pairs out of it this year.

Another one! Ryo vs Hiro’s pair, I’ll definitely be wearing these on #WOMCON off days, looking forward to the release, though honestly I’ve never tried the single back pocket style so it’ll be an interesting adjustment

I think I'm going to try them out too, the singular back pocket on the right hand side is really going to mess with me. I'm left handed and keep my wallet in the back left pocket.

The single back pocket was my biggest hesitation for grabbing a pair of the TCB 1890s. I ended up getting the tux anyway and after a bit I have actually come to like it. It helps that the one back pocket is a huge pocket. I probably can cram more stuff in that one pocket than I could in both back pockets of other pairs.

Next prewash update Ooe Yofukuten Lot OA01XX-0522:

The pair feels very light and extremely comfortable on the body (sometimes I feel Zimbabwe cotton like FC), fit well on the body, joyful experience

Thread count, thread color and stitches per inch are well balanced throughout the pair and helps create an elegant look and feel. 

Consistent placement of iPhone in right front pocket has left marks of usage (not very prominent) 

Whiskers are prominent 

Buttons have become shiny (couldn't capture well by camera) 

 

Usage of wallet in left back pocket developed marks, waiting for blowout with more usage

Nice puckering on back pockets and yoke

raised loops have started fading nicely 

I liked slight puckering of waist band (maybe I will not like extensive puckering)

raised loop like double stitching, from crotch area to yoke with raised cloth , caused similar character like "raised loops fading" (either deliberate by OA or incidental , though very nice). 

leather patch still intact and very soft like silk

train tracks are prominent 

copper rivets at pockets have started change in color 

 

honey combs 

the best roping, I have experienced so far among all Japanese Raw Denim pairs I have

though not well captured by camera but stitching on inseam looks very elegant 

An unwanted crease during 1st wash also got prominent (my mistake during first wash)

Wish I had an exact date, but not sure! Model number is "0125" though (ie: "SOA03XXD-0125"), so my guess is relatively soon if not in the next couple months?

I could be wrong about this, but based on the previous couple S&S releases I believe the four-digit number at the end of Ooe products is the month and year it was made; in this case 01/25, January 2025.

^ That’s the obvious thought that springs to mind. It’s similar to the numerical reference codes that LVC and some of the Japanese manufactured Edwin jeans use on their inner tags.

Speaking of the SOA03XXD jean that is upcoming, I have an unworn unwashed pair of SOA03XXD-0823, their first release of the WWII jean, in a size 36 for sale if anyone wants to grab a pair before the restock/new pair comes out.

Not as interested in the S&S pair personally, I already have the war jeans from last year. They’ve been hinting about what look like some late 1890s type trousers made from duck canvas for Inspiration. Would get out there if it was closer!

Good stuff... as the Sufu man-on-the-ground, it'd be appreciated if you could find out when the one-pocket late 1800s pair is coming and what the measurements are?  Understand a measurements chart may be extremely hard to come by, but if you get one you'll win the internet that day  ... cheers!!

Looks like the new pair will be made of the XX4 denim (and standard pocket fabric) based on the latest Standard and Strange newsletter...Looking forward to getting my pair since I missed out on the XX4 "Dull" fabric last year, and it'll be nice sizing up to a roomy 40.
